Weekend Trip to The Bunkhouse

Staying at this house felt like stepping into a nature fairytale. Swallows flit through the trees, owls call in the distance, and peaceful trails wind through the woods. Around the house, you’ll find charming little nooks with chairs and tables, perfect for relaxing, reading, or just soaking in the magic. It’s also very accessible from the Portland airport, with a beautiful, scenic drive that sets the tone for the stay. Kim was a fantastic host, warm, thoughtful, and welcoming. We absolutely loved being here. A peaceful retreat full of heart, perfect for nature lovers or anyone looking to recharge. Can’t recommend it enough.

Everything went well. Nice private site. Staff super helpful. Den answered my questions before I arrived (on a gold wing trike and wanted to make sure I could get to site. ) Beautiful property, eclectic. Outdoor kitchen was great to have. Outdoor shower worked however needs a little work. Nice walking trails. A must if you wish some of nature’s grandest beauty.

it’s quiet and serene and the little A-frame was so cozy! just remember to bring some sleeping bags or thick blankets as this is a real rustic site and a lantern (we were coming from Airbnb’s and not prepped accordingly)

I love the privacy and the quiet. The surrounding ecology is amazing! Karin is so laid back and hospitable which made my visit very relaxing and comfortable. The amenities are very well thought out and it’s obvious a lot of care has been put into the lodgings.

The yurt was so nice. Really thoughtful with the way they set things up. Clear instructions for everything. The shower was beautiful and private. I walked down to the sauna and a family of deer was walking past. A wonderful place to reconnect with nature. Carly was considerate and kind in our communication. I would love to come again and would suggest it to others.

1 night at Roshambo ArtFarm

The cabin path is enclosed in a cove of trees and leafy brambles, opening to a glade of fielded space with a perfect sunset view and starry night opportunity. It's an incredibly peaceful space to sit in silence and be secluded, yet still have the farm and the wonderful tasting area so nearby. The cabin is cute, quaint, incredibly comfortable with a large soft bed and beautiful windows on the space's panorama of hawks and horizon. I would absolutely stay here again, perhaps on an even warmer day to give myself time with its starry sky outside before the moon rises out the bed window ~

We rented the tent for our daughter and her family and the RV spots for us and some family friends. The land was beautiful and quiet, the animals were fun, and the Paul and his people were friendly. We would definitely recommend to friends!

Weekend Trip to Elkenmist

I had a wonderful experience at Elkenmist! I My partner and I planned a last minute getaway to relax from the hustle and bustle of city life. Spending the weekend in a lovely yurt surrounded by grass and trees was everything we needed. Den was a friendly and accommodating host, we felt very welcomed in the space! The yurt is super spacious and the woodfire stove was a great addition to add to the cozy atmosphere - it saved us when the sun went down. The yurt had many outdoor chairs, extra sleeping mats, a broom and floor cleaner, and it DOES have an outlet for charging things. I will say I did see some droppings in the yurt, but it is a farm as well so that could be expected, just be mindful about keeping food and such off the floor and bringing your own bedding. There are string lights inside as well. I could see it being really fun with a group! The bathroom, right behind the yurt, was so clean, and the wood composting toilets were an interesting concept that worked surprisingly well to keep it smelling decent. The kitchen was well equipped, had a sink with filtered water and useful supplies! Wish I would’ve had time for the farm tour because the animals looked sooo cute! I would highly recommend staying here :)

This property is exactly as described, so beautiful and peaceful. Everyone there was welcoming, and my son and I enjoyed walking around the farm. It was a great experience, and I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future vacations.

We had such a lovely stay at Holistic Life Farm. Our 5 year old got to interact with all the animals and Kyle was super patient and engaging with us. The tent was perfect size for the 3 of us and has a daybed (which was unexpected) so the sleeping setup was even more comfortable. We would love to stay again and enjoy the quiet farm life!

Welcome to Holistic Life Farm! We are a working homestead and delight in sharing our daily experience and offer visits with our sheep, cows and chickens. Holistic Life Farm offers a 1 dry tent site for up to 12 people, a quaint hideaway cabin, and a glamped out 16x20 canvas tent with a wood stove. We also offer 1 RV site in our parking area. Stop on your way to Astoria and the coast and make this your destination. Find us about 30 minutes off I-5 freeway across the Longview bridge or 45 minutes east of Astoria. Our farm sits about 5 miles off Highway 30 to the north. We can direct you to hiking and mountain biking trails in the area (Beaver Falls trailhead is 5 miles from our farm). There is a motor boat launch in the town of Clatskanie, with access to Columbia River. There is also a launch in the city park for kayaking. The Zen Monastery is just 5 miles away. Long Beach, WA is across the Columbia River via the Astoria Bridge. Lounging about the homestead works too.
