- Lakefront Access: Vehicles are not permitted on the lakefront peninsula; please use the designated loading zone next to Lake Creek dock #1.

In 1948 a wildfire came thru what then was a mixed forest of spars old growth conifers, evergreen and deciduous broadleaf trees burning intensely enough to render the entire area to primarily grassland. Today it is quickly returning to primarily mixed forest, recovering the ability to hold water at cooler temperatures as it once did.
Nestled on the south slope of Dickinson Mountain it offers plenty of sunshine yet some of the best cool freshwater to be found anywhere. Although much of this paradise is considerably steep there are ample cow and goat trails to make exploring extremely enjoyable.
Bachelor Creek which runs thru approximately 1/2 mile of the Southeast portion is home to beaver, cutthroat, western pond turtles, great blue heron, and many other wildlife.
There is a pair of resident Redtail hawks, wild turkeys, deer, bobcat, coyote, cougar, mink, flying, silver grey, and pine squirrels, owls (sawhete, screach, Pigmy, barred, and great horned), and many others.
There are also many swimming holes on Bachelor Creek and a tributary we call Dancing creek, although they are all somewhat small the water is nice and refreshing for a quick dip on a warm day.
This is a working farm raising cattle, and chickens. On that note please don't feed any of the animals as they could become a real nuisance. If you are going to be leaving your camp for a hike or swim etc. please secure any food items to avoid a potential disaster.
The farm is 170 acres (a half mile by a half mile) and there is a fence all the way around it. Feel free to hike wherever, as long as you don't cross any fences you are still here.
You can take a dip in the creek where it comes out of the culvert below the road and there is a picnic table at each site as well as at the dipping hole.

One mile from I-5, you may pitch your tent or park your van in a meadow near some fir trees bordering Elk Creek. Feel the restful flow of water bringing tranquility. Follow hiking trails along the creek, through groves of trees, or play in the singing creek. There is another hiking trail to another portion of the creek to the right of the road that passes by the barn. A sign on an oak tree indicates the edge of the large mowed meadow that will take you to another sign for the trail to the creek.
When entering the property at the county road, you’ll see a big Century Farm sign on the left at the driveway entrance.
Continue past a brown machine shed. You will see two apple trees on your left. Just beyond the apple trees is a sign, on a big fir tree. This sign points to the direction of the campsite. Shaped like an arrow it points to the mowed path down to the creek and campsite which you may drive.
Uphill from the campsite is a trail going through a small copse of trees that leads up to the red barn. On the left, at the entrance to the barn, is a bathroom complete with sink and shower. Towels are not provided.
Beneath the apple trees is a faucet with potable drink safety hose and a bucket for your use.

We provide plant based dish soap and hand soap. There is a composting toilet and outdoor shower with a propane water heater for warm showers.

'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene.
All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock.
Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask!
UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024.
The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry.
Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower.
There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos.
The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away.

Happy Bears Camp would really be suitable for those passing on I-5, who want a quiet place to park for the night. We are only one mile from I-5 (mile marker 80). Heading North on exit 80, there's a sharp 25 mph off-ramp on a downhill -Take it slow!
There are lots of reservoirs, and a few rivers in the general area. The closest Reservoir is 12 miles away. Crater Lake is two hours away. The Pacific Ocean is 2 hours 15 minutes away. Closest river is less than a mile. You will cross it on the way here. There is lots of BLM land with dirt road access in the area. There is hunting in the area. The tiny town of Glendale is three miles away, (one route is safe for bicycles). There is a Grocery store, bank, laundry, three restaurants, two gas stations and a bakery. There are also two parks in town. One has a Frisbee golf course. Easy RV parking in town. On the way here, you will pass one of the restaurants and gas stations with a lot big enough to accommodate the largest RV. On the property: You may walk around. There aren't any trails and the undergrowth gets thick quickly under the trees. There is a fire break to walk, that circles the meadow. This will give you access to the trees. If you walk up the right side, our neighbor's dog will make a ruckus as you pass their house. Don't worry, just noise. At the top of the meadow, is a lovely view over this part of the valley.

Nice spot on the river. You’re on the edge of Glide but you don’t feel like it. Pretty quiet, looking right at the river. Nice swim spot just below you. It is down the hill and little steep in spots. So wear shoes.
Host is great, our granddaughter loved her.

This place is awesome. Super quiet and calm. Ducks and chickens dubbing around the vineyard is fun to watch. Had a wine tasting with Marc and loved then wine so much we bought four bottles. Site was clean and level and nice to have a shade canopy from the sun. Would stay here again if we're in the area for sure.

What a gem in the remote Umpqua forest! Our site was easy to back our 19’ camper into with lots of extra space. Close walk to bathroom hot showers. The vegetation is beautiful. We had grapes and apples by our site. The hot springs up the road were a highlight of our week long trip. We wouldn’t have known about them if it wasn’t for staying at the Last Resort

The site was wonderful! Very peaceful, quiet and private. Super easy and chill arrival and set up. Full RV hook ups provided of water, sewer, and water are a rare find. Plus the host shares WiFi! Beautiful scenery of the vineyard, grassland, hills. Lots of wild birds, and ducks and chickens. There is a wonderful lake (Ben Irving reservoir) about 10 minutes away where we paddle boarded. There is a store just a couple minutes away. We’ll be going back!

I loved this place! Welcoming with full hookups for our camper. Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful grounds. And don't miss stopping at the Dry Creek store, just like the campground, an oasis in the middle of nowhere. Not very good Internet which actually was a blessing. And definitely check out the creek pool a refreshing dip in this eden!

This RV park was beautifully maintained and the sites were perfect. All had their own little fire rings with picnic tables and surrounded by gorgeous trees. The location was incredible, with many outdoor hikes, waterfalls, and scenic areas to explore. Would happily stay here again, and hope we get the chance to!

We loved camping at the Last Resort. The staff were so friendly, helpful, and kind. The grounds were beautiful, lush, and well kept. The birds were singing. The bathrooms were well kept and the showers were so warm and nice. You can tell the folks running this place care.

Super clean & well maintained, the bathrooms & the property. Beautiful landscaping at every sight. A mix if trees, flowers, grassy lawns, privacy fences & outdoor decor. Small park yet fairly spacious at sights. Tons of butterflies to see & birds chirping. Super pet friendly for responsible owners.

What a beautiful place! If you’re looking for a clean, quiet, family place this is it! Beyond beautiful! Great staff! Clean bathrooms! Minutes from so many waterfalls! In the middle of the Oregon forest! No cell service. Gas station next door! Best kept secret to pull your RV into! Def will be back! Our pups had a great time there too!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Umpqua's Last Resort! From the moment we arrived, Seth was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Traveling with a one-year-old and a dog, we appreciated how much there was to see and do.
We stayed at RV site 22, which was peaceful, well-equipped, and the perfect home base for our trip. The swimming hole was a highlight. I even jumped in the cold water and highly recommend it! Just across the street is a little beach along the river made for a great spot to relax and for our little one to throw rocks into the water, his new favorite thing.
We're already looking forward to returning and trying one of the glamping tents, which looked amazing. Highly recommend!
