Weekend Trip to Shelter at Castle Rock Farm

I recommend this to groups of all types. I am a solo female traveller and I camped out here for a night super last minute. There is TONS todo in the area and you are staying in your own private mossy paradise. The site is unbelievable and everything was super clean and nice. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

Had an amazing time staying here! The land is beautiful and serene, the entire time I heard birds singing and my pup and I enjoyed the spacious lawn and woods we got all to ourselves! Richard the host is super helpful and kind, when I was trying to blow up my air mattress with my paddle boarding pump he not only had a extra pump, but a portable charger! I was able to keep my mattress full and my phone charged! I felt so taken care of the entire time, and he gave fantastic recommendations about the area with his expert advice and experience! Made my solo camping trip run so smooth!

5 stars – Peaceful, dog-friendly stay with an incredible host This was my first time camping with my 15-year-old dog, and it exceeded all expectations. The tent was spacious and cozy, with clear views through the open sides — perfect for enjoying nature while staying comfortable. It felt incredibly peaceful with tons of wildlife around, and my dog loved it. She even made a friend, Daisy, who led her down to the pond to feed the fish — an unexpected and heartwarming moment. Richard, the host, went above and beyond. He thought of everything and was so helpful with communication and setup. The directions and pin drop were crucial since cell service is spotty, but once you’re there, it feels like a true retreat. I came here to reset and connect with my dog — and that’s exactly what happened. Would absolutely return.

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Retreat

June the host and her husband were very accommodating and super friendly. Their land is right next to a river and there was plenty of space for my tiny group of friends. There was a rule about no loud noises, which I completely respect. We did have a tiny speaker and were up pretty late around 11pm but there's enough space between the camp and the hosts home that none of us were bothered. Since we were the only campers during our stay she let us know it was okay if we didn't check out exactly at check out time, it felt nice not to be rushed out of the space. There were chairs, tables, an axe and a weber bbq she let us borrow. I would definitely recommend this spot.

This campsite is a real gem. I echo previous campers in saying that Richard has done a stellar job with all sorts of touches for a perfect 'glamping' experience. The tent was large, clean and sturdy, the covered patio was very comfortable, the sink/cooking station was great, and there was plenty of room for other tents. Nice big cots, mobile charging port, lots of lighting. The fire pit was also awesome, and loved that plenty of wood was provided (along with gas for the two stoves and plenty of water for cleaning). The hammocks were a treat too. Very close to some spectacular natural wonders in the McKenzie River system. Highly recommend, and look forward to coming back.

We stayed at the Mountain View campsite. It’s a beautiful, grassy, large site with well kept amenities. Host is friendly, attentive, and informative. The site had a covered platform for your tent or hanging out, a private out house, elevated firepit area with stools, picnic table, benches, and garbage bin. The view of the grassy meadow and trees was delightful. Lots of birds, deer, wild turkeys. Very private and quiet. It’s a gorgeous part of Oregon and the camp served as our home base for our daytime adventures. It was perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wonderful hosts who treated guests like family. We stayed in space 2 it’s large and has a great flat spot for a tent. The small creek makes the perfect noise. Would recommend!

What a BEAUTIFUL place!! 🌲☀️🐟 The creek is magical ✨ The compost bathrooms were SO clean with extra detail in the construction overall. Michelle and Parker welcomed us right away and are doing a fabulous job taking care of things. We loved that there was a playground there (with swings!!) as well as horseshoe and corn hole games for the adults. It was such an amazing experience, having the opportunity to rest my head under the stars at the Zen Garden. The land has been thoughtfully curated by the owner, Jimbo, with such vibrant intent. The energy on the property was strong with positivity and love. Jimbo and Eric (along with their personal friends and other campers) were most welcoming. I appreciate that Jimbo included my friend and I with regard to the event he had scheduled during one of the days we were there, a beautiful memorial to one of his loved ones, a fellow Basque-soul. Rest in Power, Geno! Energy never dies, it transforms! 🌠 On another note, I also appreciate that everyone respected our space. It made us feel so much more comfortable to be able to mingle with others on our own accord and to explore the beautiful sanctuary without feeling anxious. Overall, we left the Zen Garden with full hearts and hope to visit again soon. Thank you, Eric and Jimbo. You're both gems! Peace be with you both. 🕉️☮️...and rock on! 🤘🏾

This place was so beautiful and relaxing! It had all of the amenities to make camping easy for a larger group. It was nice not to pack everything we would need ourselves. We had a lovely time cooking dinner and spending time in the shared spaces like the little covered areas and fire pit area. It was also easy to explore different spots in the area. A short drive to Blue pool and Clear lake. There was a little convenience store close by too.

*Please read FULL site description and rules before booking so you know what to expect and what is expected of you!* 'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. Has new carpet, a new TV, and a new bed. There is lots of parking and easy to get turned around. For the kids we have a foosball table, a tree house and a trampoline (all not just for kids). We just made a few upgrades; a new Berky water filter, the orbi tri-band mesh router (very high speeds) and a solar backup generator. We hope you will enjoy the new upgrades, we feel they are equality upgrades. Guest are welcome to pick blueberries from the blueberry field and to collect fresh eggs from the chicken coop. Take a swim in the cool water. Of course, you can just relax by the water's edge and enjoy the tranquility provided by the soothing flow of the river. This 192 sq. ft. cabin is very basic. There is no shower, but there is a portable toilet with a wash station located outside. We do provide a full 5-gallon water cooler for drinking since there is no running water. For cooking there is a 24" Blackstone 2-burner griddle, and small propane cans are provided. Also, the cabin is furnished with a small supply of pots and pans. There is a battery that provides lighting, and phone charging is available in the cabin. During the cooler months, there is a small wood stove for heating, and firewood is provided. The cabin sleeps 2, but there is room for a camper and/or tents. This campsite is meant to be very simple, so you should plan on bringing whatever you may need/want for camping.
