Great hiking, kayaking, biking, birding, fishing, swimming, and disc-golfing opportunities just a few miles away at Paint Creek State Park and the Highland Nature Sanctuary. Amish country is also just 15 minutes away with a great bakery, markets and greenhouses. This area is home to an impressive network of ancient earthworks including the world famous Serpent Mound.
Our accommodations range from primitive tent-camping to "glamping" in one of our tiny off-grid cabins. The sites are spaced out for privacy and each site offers a private picnic table and fire pit. There are two shared privies/outhouses which have basic composting toilets (not flushing). A grassy parking area is provided near the road, however, ALL SITES ARE WALK-IN (with the exception of site #1).
***Please take note that this is private property and the host lives on site. If you are looking for a place to be loud and party into the night, this is not the place for you. If you are looking to spend some quality time in nature, welcome. There are rules.

Dustin specializes in animatronics, steel sculptures, wood carvings, mixed media sculptures, and offers live art performances and experience packages for guests. Feel free to stop by the studio and say hello, our home is on the same 58-acre property. Although you cannot see our home from the Art Lodge or Tiny Bungalows, we're often nearby for assistance.

I'm an artist and my husband and I have a small homestead with chickens and sometimes sheep/goats. Look out for electric netting to keep our herd/flock protected. The lighting over our back field is divine in the late afternoon, or if you prefer a wooded setting, we have a small wooded area across the street from our house. The area is hilly and rather private-- only one neighbor is visible when the trees are leafed out. Electric is accessible from an outlet at the backyard fence or in the barn. We often have fresh veggies and fruit in the garden in the summer, and sometimes extra farm fresh eggs. Nearby (10 minute drive) is Hargus lake, with boat rental and fishing. Also nearby is the Slate Run Historical Farm, (15 minute drive) which is a farm that is fully functioning as a farm from the 1880's with sheep, draft horses, hogs, and poultry at Slate Run Metro park, which has many woodland and wetland trails, as well as a covered bridge and several playgrounds. We are about 35 minutes from the Hocking Hills area, which is one of the most beautiful and unique areas in Ohio.

The field is close enough to the Appalachian highway (state route 32) for convenience, but far enough not to be bothered by it. The area is steeped in Native American culture. We are located 9 miles from Laurelville, 16.4 miles from Logan, 17 miles from Lancaster, 19 miles from Circleville, where stores and dinning are abundant and easily accessible.
The property is full of wildlife and magnificent views and rainbows galore, with minimal light pollution, our night sky's are spectacular. We are within a 30 minutes drive of all of Hocking Hills State Parks, Nature preserves and so much more.
Hocking Hills features beautiful towering cliffs, thrilling waterfalls, and deep, hemlock-shaded gorges. With stunning ice formations in winter, wildflowers adorning the forest floor in springtime and vivid foliage in the fall, hikers and nature lovers have plenty to enjoy in this awe-inspiring area.
Other local activities include, rock climbing, ziplining, ATV/UTV Rentals and tours, along with Canoe/Kayaking on the hocking river, horseback riding and so much more.
Southern Ohio offers some amazing roads for motorcycle rides, including the Hocking Hills Scenic Byway, The Windy 9, The Triple Nickel and Three Rivers .

RVers if you are coming in from US Rte 33 please use Buena Vista Rd. Buena Vista Rd is one exit after Oppossum Hollow if you are heading East on 33 and also one exit pass 374 if you are heading West on 33. GPS will usually route you onto Oppossum Hollow Rd or State Rte 374. The State Rte 374 route will have you turn onto Oppossum Hollow. Oppossum Hollow road is a one lane unlined rd and is not the best for RVs. Taking Buena Vista Rd will only add about a mile and a few minutes to your trip. Be advised Buena Vista is a very curvey road but is traveled by large vehicles all the time. Just take it slow and you will be fine. We have a dully truck and 45 ft rig that we bring in and out just fine.
If you are coming in from the South (Chillicothe area.) From State Rte 180, please take Jack Run Rd. This is also a paved two lane road. All other roads in the area are single lane rds and are not the best for RVs (don't use Middlefork, Long Run, Stump Run, or Clapper Hollow off of State Rte 180).

There is one designated primitive campsite at Bigfoot Pathway which is designed for vehicles offering a unique lower level for setting up your tent and area for a campfire with plenty of other space to enjoy. Also we provide dispersed tent only camping areas in our back woods.
Firewood: we provide your initial firewood, with more available on-site.

We were a group of moms on a long weekend getaway, and Fruitdale Farm couldn’t have been a better choice. This cabin is so full of sunlight and cheer. It’s well-appointed with the things you’ll need, and the private deck overlooking the pond is such a peaceful place to relax and connect. We enjoyed wandering on the trails on the farm and hiking on nearby Arc of Appalachia trails.

Charming, well kept, lots of really nice touches. We camped at Site #1 in a pop-up and we're blessed with a very level area. A picnic table and fire ring were included and in excellent condition. The Koi pond was a relaxing spot a short walk from the hilltop. We walked the groomed nature trail, enjoyed a sauna, and purchased two dozen very nice farm-fresh eggs. I cannot think of a thing missing. Honestly, Fruitdale Farm has it all for a relaxing camp with room to roam.

Had an absolutely beautiful stay here! We only stayed for a night which was not nearly long enough to fully appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the place. David was an amazing host, left firewood at the tent site, offered us beef stew at night and coffee in the morning, and even explained how we could build a better fire with some fire starters he left us. The tent site had enough privacy to still feel fully immersed in nature even with other campers nearby. Lots of birds and butterflies. We will definitely be back and feel like we got a full escape and recharge from the chaos of the world. Best sleep I’ve ever had.

Wild Ridge was a delightful and peaceful place to camp. With only a few campsites available, we had the luxury of sharing the area with just two other couples during our stay, making it feel quite private. The full hookups at our site were a great convenience.
While the campground is still a work in progress, it offered excellent value for the price. One area noted for improvement is around the fire pit; it could use some leveling to make seating more comfortable. However, the provided firewood was a nice touch, as purchasing wood can add up quickly, and it's best not to transport it from other places.
Although they mentioned selling wood as well, we found ourselves settling in for the night after a day of hiking and dinner, which made the supplied wood the perfect amount. If you're someone who enjoys the amenities of a KOA, this might not be the spot for you. However, for those who prefer remote sites and the chance to escape the crowds, Wild Ridge offers a great balance.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and are likely to return!

They are still working on some landscaping and moving stuff around but in the next year I think it will be an amazing spot and the view was great. Running water and electric at the campsite were nice. Owners are very friendly and lots of great trails in the area.

We had a great stay overall. The Viking long hall was definitely a standout—such a unique and memorable feature that really sets this place apart.
David and Iveagh were very kind and welcoming, and made it clear they were available if we needed anything. As experienced campers we didn’t need much assistance, but it was appreciated knowing they were there.
The available hot shower and water were a great accommodation and definitely added to the comfort of the stay.
The campsites are not on top of each other, but they aren’t very dispersed either. If you’re looking for a more private, spread-out experience, this may not be the best fit. Regardless, we felt nothing but welcome and accommodated.
Overall, a really cool spot with a lot of character. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others looking for something a little different.

Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm
We loved it here. Woke up to birdsong every morning and the air smelled like honeysuckle which was blooming. The farm stand and fresh eggs in the morning were great. Camp sites felt private and well maintained.

Fruitdale Farm is a thoughtful and artistically established working farmstead/ camping spot working in full harmony with raw nature. It appears to be organic and regenerative. I love the unique products Amie offers from the farm too. It's located close to many spectacular hiking areas in Southern Ohio and the stars shine close and bright out their.
