The Oasis

Beautiful wooded lot sandwiched between a bike trail and a creek. Each space included a fire ring, and a nearby latrine was available for use. This is an excellent place if you are looking to camp and have things to do. The host mentioned the creek is high enough to canoe or kayak in the spring. You can also enjoy access to the bike trail right from the site, and the Hopewell earthworks are within a short driving distance. The hosts were on-site when we arrived and were very friendly and helpful. Firewood is also available for purchase right there on the spot. There are also multiple sites located around a common area, making it ideal for large groups. Overall, my sister and I enjoyed our stay.

Stars Through the Trees

Sarah is a fabulous host! Super helpful to me with some details and questions I had. Very responsive to my texts before and during the trip. Her land really is lovely. You can see the stars through the tree tops, birds are all over the place, including bald eagles along the creek. Having the bicycle/walking path right next door was fabulous...that's where I saw the huge eagle in a tree. On weekday mornings you may hear a few large trucks heading out early. Other than that, not a lot of traffic noise. When things re-open in the Spring, I would highly recommend checking it out. When we were there the creek was quite low and the campsite had been a bit bruised by heavy machinery. Nature recovers. Thank you again, Sarah! Note: there are several verbal dogs nearby who were active during the nighttime hours. If you're a super light sleeper, perhaps this isn't the place for you.

Creekside serenity

Campsite sits next to the creek that you can hear the soothing babblings to lullaby you to sleep. This a a clean, well maintained property and a clean porta-poty within 100ft off the campsite. Firewoods are available to purchase on site if you run out. The owners stopped by to greet when I arrived and before my departure. Overall a great camping site I would recommend and revisit.

This is only my second HipCamp stay, and I was traveling solo as a woman. I was slightly worried, but chose them as they seemed the most warm and friendly. I was so happy to be right about assumptions. Not only was it incredibly safe, it was incredibly beautiful. You couldn’t find a property like this commercially for $40 a night, let alone $20-$30. This is well worth the price for what you will pay here. The host messaged me a few times to let me know various things about weather, conditions, etc. all before hand and during. However it was never too much, just needed vital information. She was so kind and courteous to me. It really shows you that real hospitality still exists. 4WD recommended for incline/decline at entry.

Overall great experience at the oasis! We stayed at the cabinette. Definitely would bring my own toilet next time as the port a john didn't seem like it'd been serviced in quite a while. Owner let us have a later check out so we could explore the area more and was very communicative and nice to speak with. I clicked that I had a positive experience and it's my first time using this app so I'm not sure why it says that i'm "required to write a review to submit my low rating". I would rate the location an 8.5/10 overall.

We had a wonderful stay at the Oasis! The pull through site was perfect for our family. We had enough space for our three small tents, our Jeep, and our hammocks. What a beautiful creek! Our doggo loved the water, and the rock beach was great for skipping stones and star-gazing at night. The site had everything we needed to enjoy a couple of nights outside. Our hosts were very gracious and helpful. We can’t wait to escape again to the Oasis!

Such a cute space! Love that there is electricity and heat. We were super cozy and even got a little hot at night. The cabinette is right by the road but never heard a car it's a very low traffic space. The river was just steps away and made me want to come back when I could get in. So cute that it's on a bike path. It was snowed over for us and difficult to walk on fast but definitely a bonus. Also love that this is a one night availability. Host was super responsive and thought of everything. This is on the top of my list to revisit! Thank you #kentuckyhotwine

An amazing campground that's only an hour outside of Columbus. I went down with a couple of buddies and there was plenty of room for tents and hammocks, and the owners are really nice. It has easy access to the water and the bike path cuts through the property. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to camp, kayak or bike for the weekend. It's a great spot and I'm looking forward to going back and staying in the cabin next time!

# 1: The Tree Hugger

The camp was ok. For the price it offered a portapot and a brand new picnic table withe a giant pop-up. Only downfall was noise. There were some dogs not too far away that barked and barked. I will add though ( with overpopulation , it is almost impossible to get true quiet anymore). I did get to hear some Coyotes too . Nice little creek with some huge fish that jumped a few times while my dog and I was down there. Star enjoyed getting in the water. I almost pitched my tent on the rock beach but I didnt have my cot. Would I recommend ? Yes !

We had a phenomenal time camping on this breathtaking property! We deeply appreciated the hospitality and clear communication and instruction on finding our spot. The views along the river were second to none with the changing of the leaves. Our hosts were respectful and generous! My fiancé and I spent the weekend at this wonderful campground. We were lucky and had the whole place to ourselves. Amelia and her crew were extremely nice and helpful. We have zero complaints, and definitely plan to return in the future!

While the property was in a secluded area with great tree coverage, this specific camp spot was misleading. The description says it's both an Rv and tent site. I would argue that it is not suitable for tents. there is no firepit, there is no flat or comfortable surface to set up the tent either. The entirity of the camp property was also pretty disheveled. The porta potty had not been cleaned and when you opened the door, the entarance was completely covered by spiderwebs to the point that it prevented you from entering the bathroom without tearing it all down. I was also bummed out about the stream that was pictured. I would not suggest this camp if that is also the attraction for you, the water is still and covered in algae. If you bring animals you should steer clear of letting them near this water. My partner and I were definitely disappointed upon arrival and talked with another couple that pulled up shortly after us. They made comments about how the site was not well kept. My partner and I ended up leaving shortly after and not staying the night.

Cabin is super cute and well put together for a one-two person stay! There is room for an extra air mattress for floor a couple more sleepers if you want to make 4 fit but it would be a tight squeeze. My dog Huckleberry and I loved it! Extremely clean and right by a bike trail that runs along north paint creek…and there is so much to do in the area! Very close to a dollar tree and a dollar general should you forget anything. There’s also Lots of great birdwatching in Ross county and the sounds did not disappoint. The charcoal grill works fabulously and the solar lights provide a nice amount of light after sunset. Very private and quiet. Definitely recommend!

Truly an Oasis

I loved tent camping at The Oasis. Amelia and her crew were super helpful and kind. I missed the driveway at first, but I was able to ask one of Amelia's friends who happened to notice us. She literally walked us to the site (super cool!) and made sure we could reach out if we had any questions. The sites were also easy to access. I have a Silverado and had no trouble driving in to get situated at camp. There was a clean portapotty available, and the picnic table in the common area was really nice to sit down for a cup of coffee in the morning. Having water and a sink to wash dishes up at the cabin was a huge help! Another cool feature of this site was the creek. There was a combination of full sun and shade, so you had your pick of where was most comfortable to enjoy the water. All in all, I can't wait to return. Thanks Amelia for everything!

Creekside Cabinette

Amelia and her crew were great hosts! Loved meeting her and June and Bob. Our stay at the Cabinette was so special. Upon arrival we found flowers and a card from them for our Anniversary. The space was very modern and had all things nature at your fingertips. We enjoyed fishing and hope to return soon with our bikes. Place was just as described and we found it to be a tiny slice of heaven!

Very good communication and directions, hosts were very accommodating. The cabin was as described. I arrived late at night so didn’t get to enjoy as much of the property as I had planned. Additionally, arriving at night men’s I invited every bug in the vicinity into the cabin since there’s no other light around. Great amenities in the cabin.
