Beautiful and open space foe camping. The views, weather and property where better than expected. My boys loved the creek! We typically like to not stay in the same place twice but this might be an exception. Keep in mind this is tick country so come prepared and check often.

Weekend Trip to A Notch Above-RV Riverside Campsite

This site is so relaxing and the sunsets are beautiful. When its dark it's a glow on the water that makes mysterious a whole vibe. We was the only ones there so it was peaceful. The concrete pads are level and a nice size made setting up super easy. Randy was there but gave us our space which we appreciated that. Definitely a nice quick getaway for us, we'll definitely be back for sure!!!

This is our third time staying at Jim and Sharon's place, and it won't be our last. There are so many quaint Ohio towns to check out within 15 to 30 minutes of the campsite. But the campsite is so perfect, you may not even want to leave for your entire visit. Stop reading reviews and book it! You won't regret it.

I loved tent camping on this property with the fire pit. Close walking distance to the Arboretum which was a nice surprise. Everything is secluded but stores are also easily accessible. Very enjoyable beautiful spot!

Lisa and Dennis were incredible hosts who take exceptional care of their land and visitors. Our family of 4+pup enjoyed 2 nights camping, wine tasting, fishing, and much more. The privacy of our stay was paramount and this site more than satisfied our needs. We have been home for 5 hours and already miss this place and are planning our next trip. Do yourself a favor and book a stay at this beautiful property!! The selections of wine are amazing and unique! Dennis was an incredible wealth of knowledge and took great care of us during the wine tasting as well as every other part of our stay!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lovely stay at the camp. It was secluded but also very close to everything we needed. Hosts were friendly and helpful. I recommend this spot!

Nice storage container house. Had everything you would need. Shower was fantastic. We hiked to the creek and explored. We fished in the small pond for some small fish. The games around the storage containers were fun for kids. Great place to visit.

Wonderful! This was our very first trip in our first ever trailer and I’m so thankful to have found Curtis and Michelle’s spot to figure it all out. Even if you are seasoned campers, you will enjoy the quiet, playing in the creek and electric/ water hookups at every site. We will definitely be back!

I had a great time tent camping on Casey’s property! Casey was lighting fast in responding to my inquiries and was very polite and welcoming. The property is located very close to a forest and very close to US 27 where a camper could find any type of shopping, dining, entertainment, & even a Hamilton County metro park. It may not be the perfect match for a group or individual seeking total seclusion because there are vehicle and neighbor noises that are common with any land. The property and campsite are clean, peaceful, and picturesque. Book your stay with confidence and enjoy your time there.

The portajohn was in the middle of the view of the river and disgusting (need to be cleaned/emptied). There was only 1/2 a picnic table available for use. The views are of the river were amazing!

Curtis met us in the driveway to show us where to park. The spots are all flat and level with a nice little creek running right next to them. It was a great place to stay after a long day on the road!

It was very relaxing experience for us. The site was beautiful, sound of creek was very soothing. Curtis and Michelle were great hosts and we enjoyed their property very much. We weren’t paying much attention how to get down to the site and a little confused when we arrived. I recommend paying attention to the directions on the property photo before your arrival.

Lisa and Dennis were such wonderful hosts! This was our first camping trip with our toddler and we couldn’t have found a better spot for our first outing with him! We loved fishing in the pond and enjoyed the fire pits. One of the most special things were the fairy lanterns that came on around the property after the sun went down. The bathroom was a top-notch amenity, too! Lisa and Dennis gave us a wonderful tour of their property and we enjoyed meeting all their animals (dogs, cats and Cajun the potbelly pig). We would absolutely come back again!

A little bit of a lean getting down to the camp area so I’d suggest that you have 4WD to help you get out. There is a highway that runs behind the trees and river so every so often you’ll hear a big truck rumbling down the road. Now for the good: Curtis and Michelle are very friendly and helpful. There’s strong reliable WiFi, water, 30amp and 110v all included. A slow shallow creek that you can dip your toes into with a swing nearby. A picnic table and fire pit with wood to burn. We’ll be back if we’re on our way through!

1 night at Camp Rocky Run

Very courteous hosts, we met and spoke a few times. Upon arrival Curtis showed us the best route to the camping area near the creek where there’s 30amp, 110 outlets and water hook ups also included WiFi that is nearby with unlimited data. Fire pit with wood to burn and a swing. We have a 40’ travel trailer and fit easily. The creek is shallow and slow moving so your dog can splash all they want.

Many years ago, this property was known as Cross Winds Farm due to the crosswinds coming in from all directions at times. After being sold twice, the purchasing owner renamed the farm Quail Run. Did you ever hear the superstition that renaming a farm can bring bad luck? It appears to be true in this instance, as the owner of Quail Run experienced several financial difficulties and the property eventually sold at auction. About 8 years later the property came up for sale again. It was at this point we purchased the land and built the farm and our home. In researching the history of the property, we came across the original name and decided to restore to original name. Learn more about this land: Enjoy the spectacular sunrises and sunsets from this working horse farm and veterinary hospitalization facility while sharing the rolling hills and hiking trails with nature. The stars have never appeared brighter without the light pollution found in more densely populated areas. You will pull in on a private gravel road which runs along top a ridge. Once you arrive at the horse barn, parking is very nearby and we will direct you where to pull in. We will park you in as level of a spot as we can for you. Depending on number of other RVers and first arrivals, your parking may be on a bit more of a slope. Please note, you will be parking in a grassy area and be prepared in the event mother nature were to decide to bring rain. Heavy amounts of rain coupled with a heavy rig could lead to difficulties pulling out if you aren't prepared ahead of time with the proper equipment. We are happy to provide a tour of our Equine facility and what we do here. Depending on case load, we may or may not have hospitalized cases at any given time.

This is my home residence in the small town of Dry Ridge, KY. I am just 20 minutes from The Ark Encounter and historic Williamstown. I have a small pond to camp next to either with a tent or RV that has electric and water hookup outside of my detached garage. Behind the property and surrounding the farm of 125 acres is eagle creek. Swim, fish, canoe, or kayak for additional fun and relaxation. There are walking trails and if not too congested side by sides are welcome as well. If the creek is low, there is a lot of fun to be had collecting clamshells and other various unique items that the waters bring. Wood can be purchased for campfires if desired. A small fire pit will be beside the campsite and a larger one down by the creek. Come sit by the pond and fall asleep to the sound of the frogs chirping and other wildlife.

Please be aware that if we have had a lot of rain, the creek side spots may be too wet and difficult to get back up the hill with the wet grass. If this is the case, we do have the gravel barn driveway that can accommodate your stay. During peak busy season, the barn drive may have additional guests due to site, weather or general camping conditions. The barn drive offers a view of the creek area about 100 feet away and is about 175 feet from the patio common area. WiFi covering the entire camp and all cellular carriers work great here. 30 Amp electrical in many spots. White tank water fill is available in select locations. THE BAPTISMAL POND: As history goes the pond in front of this site was used in the 1800's for baptisms for the church visible from everywhere on the farm, thus our name. This is a tent site, easy to drive into and out of, fires permitted in season. THISTLEDOWN GATHERING PLACE: This is a very large meadow, surrounded by trees with the capacity for large groups, many tents and gatherings of lots of people. Very level, easy in and out with vehicles. Fires permitted in season. WHITETAIL SANCTUARY: Every night for decades a herd of whitetail deer graze in this pastoral setting. Drive in and out, fires in season. Suitable for a family sized tent. THE PENNINSULA: This camping spot is WALK IN ONLY. You can drive to the trailhead on grass and walk the path to the campsite (about 200 yards). One of two remote sites. It sits in the woods, on the bank of a wet weather creek which flows around two sides of the campsite. Fires permitted in season. TOTEM TREES: This site is WALK IN ONLY. A short hike down the hill from the grass parking area and you have a small spot for a tent, in the woods, surrounded by trees and a lot of standing dead ash which appear as if you are in the presence of totem poles. NO OPEN FIRES. MUST USE BACKPACKER STOVE AND FLAMELESS LIGHTING. SPOTTED FAWN HIDEAWAY: This totally secluded walk in campsite is suitable for a small tent only AND PERFECT FOR HAMMOCK CAMPING.
