4 nights at Outercamp, Blue Ridge Falls Retreat

I recently stayed at Geri’s Creekside Yurt, it was such a magical experience. The yurt was super private and secluded, with the creek just about 20 feet away. The walkway to the yurt was also really accessible, almost stroller-friendly, compared to other areas that had more steps. Inside, they provided both a fan and heating, making it comfortable no matter the weather. There were also plenty of board games, books, and other games for entertainment. They had so much thought into all of the essentials provided we almost felt we overpacked! The attention to detail was amazing. Everything was thoughtfully labeled, making it easy to find your way around. Even the outhouse, which I was initially worried about, turned out to be no issue at all. The interior design was also so warming and beautiful to enjoy, even the linens and towels were thoughtfully chosen. Overall, it’s clear that so much thought and care went into creating this peaceful space, highly recommend this beautiful retreat :)

My boyfriend and I came here for a weekend and absolutely loved it, and already talk about our next trip back! Such a lovely area, and such pretty views! It’s right in the middle of everything. We were able to take a day trip to gatlinburg and come back to sweet baby goats! 10/10

Weekend Trip to Red Rooster Farm: AVL Adjacent!

Property was very beautiful. They had very friendly adult and baby goats you can pet and hangout with as well as some horses! The camper has everything you could possibly need to have a comfortable visit in Canton! Needless to say I definitely plan on taking a trip back here!

Quiet and cozy, it’s furnished with comfy seating, ample counter space, and plenty of electrical outlets. Convenient parking adds to the ease. With excellent amenities, it’s a great place to disconnect and enjoy a peaceful, starry getaway.

The land was magical and provided such a relaxing atmosphere. There are trails and a pond along with the creek that runs throughout the space. The hosts are amazing people. Vicki provided lots of great info about the surrounding area. The campsite was well kept and manicured in such a thoughtful way! Arrival and departure were easy…although we were sad to leave!

2 nights at Above the Fray Glamping, Black Mtn.

Everything was as described online - beautiful view, clean port-a-potty, 5 gallons of potable water provided, easy to find with directions given. There was a thunderstorm with high winds overnight and nothing got wet. Its only 4 miles from plenty of places to buy groceries or eat fast food or at restaurants. Highly recommend.

1 night at TangleWood Creekside Campsites

This was a great spot. Arrived when it was raining but had no trouble getting in and set up. There are neighboring sites close by but I still felt like I had privacy. My dog and I looooved the creek and its close proximity to the tent. My one night there was rainy but the creek sounds and rain on the tent gave me some of the best sleep ever, and we woke up to beautiful weather the next morning. I’d stay here again! 10/10

2 nights at Above the Fray Glamping, Black Mtn.

Amazing views combined with many of the comforts of home, and then some. The platform overlooks the valley and has both close and long views. Doug provides five gallons of water, electricity and lighting, as well as your own porta-poti. 10 minutes down the mountain to the quaint town of Black Mountain and less than 30 minutes to Asheville. The directions were clear and the host was very responsive. If you’re looking for an amazing experience where you can spread out in your hammocks, listen to music, and cook a great meal, all why you are protected by the elements (metal roof, heavy tarp curtains to protect from the wind) then this is the place for you. Our party of five had plenty of room to spread out. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a fantastic stay in the RV trailer on this peaceful farm! The setting was absolutely beautiful, with stunning mountain views that made every morning feel special. The trailer was clean, cozy, and perfect for me, my wife, and our dog. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and our pup loved exploring the open space around the farm. The host was friendly and welcoming, making sure we felt right at home. If you're looking for a quiet, scenic, and pet-friendly getaway, this spot is a hidden gem. Highly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Cold Spring Basecamp

We love the tree house ❤️ The place is exceptional. Quiet, comfortable, clean and beautiful. The house is close to several trails and good restaurants.

Weekend Trip to Starlight Hills

We stayed at MTG1. Great experience! The view is good, others have better view but MTG1 has bigger area around it and also it’s under the shadow of trees so it’s cooler than others. I was happy with my choice.

Weekend Trip to Outercamp, Blue Ridge Falls Retreat

The yurt was awesome! Cozy and comfy, with a beautiful large deck surrounded by trees and bird song. We felt like we were sleeping in a treehouse in Costa Rica! The kitchen was well stocked and we loved that it was outdoors. We did see 3 bears while we were there, but they were not at all concerned with us. When we said “hey bear” to them they sauntered off in the other direction. Hoot Owl falls was lovely as well!

It was my daily-driver for a while but eventually decided my Matt Foley days were over and I retired the van in exchange for something more eco-friendly (but much less fun). The van sat around in between weekend camping trips that unfortunately became less and less frequent as time passed.A year ago I decided that the holy grail of swaggin’ wagons could no longer be kept a secret from humanity. You really think I would hide something as great as this van under a bushel?? The answer is NO!!Anyway... So then I decided to build a campsite in my backyard so that others could enjoy the van the same way I have. Well now, I have purchased some land and have begun to draft the dream spots. First, I started with a dome... reminds me of a hobbit home, but cooler! I am now remodeling a bus and hope to have that to you soon!

Your car is parked within feet of your deck, so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some roofs are full size, some are two-thirds, and some are one-third, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck features sun and rain curtains to help keep you comfortable in normal weather conditions. Dogs enjoy a two-gate system, allowing guests and dogs be leash-free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned on a weekly basis. Lights and electrical outlets are 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets, fans, et I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low-level string lights, so one can see the night sky Many of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, a fickle solar shower, and a pop-up changing room, along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial. I provide various-size garbage bags to manage your garbage. Your parking area is next to the deck. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away, and All Trails is an excellent app for finding trails suited for your interests. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well-socialized dogs. Professional massage therapist onsite as well. The house is hand crafted with unique creative touches for your delight. We look forward to having you! This home was built in 2019 by an expert craftsman with the vision of making it cozy and spacious with sweet artistic details and lots of care and love. The home is 300 sq feet but feels much more grand inside. You will be nestled on 14 pristine acres of forest, with two decks, your own personal private hot tub, and a spring fed creek not too far down the driveway. There is a gas fireplace outdoors on the porch, and an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The house has a queen size bed in the upper loft, a large twin day bed on the first level, and an extra loft with camping mats if needed above the day bed. The house can comfortably sleep 3 and up to 4 or 5 especially if a couple of them are children or petite people. The house has a full kitchen and bathroom, living room area and two lofts. For now there is a composting toilet that is easy to maintain and we are happy to help you with it if you’re on the land for more than a few days. The main house is about 30 yards up the hill, and although somewhat close, you will have plenty of privacy. We are close if you need us, but we try to give all of our guests ultimate privacy. The house is under a huge magnolia tree, so it stays shaded in the summer and quite cool. There is an AC unit and heaters in the house as well. There is a personal hot tub, which is screened in, and located on the front deck of the house now. You will love it! There is a back deck that is only for meditation, yoga, and bird watching, and we ask that folks stay silent on the back deck if they use it. Pets are welcome at an extra charge of $40 a night. If anything is needed down at the house we are available. Much of the time there is a massage therapist on site, so if you are interested in getting Bodywork please just inquire about prices and availability. There is also a wood-fired sauna on the property, so if you would like to sauna please let us know. And an added bonus is that you are only 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and LOTS of great hiking, great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, art galleries and more. Asheville is 15 minutes from the tiny cabin and Weaverville is 10 minutes away. On any given day you might see a family a deer, turkeys or bears in the front yard. There is a spring fed creek on the edge of the property you are welcome to soak your feet in, and there is incredible hiking just a few miles away. You are welcome to explore the 13 acres of property as well that the home is located on. This is not a place for parties. Our neighbors are about 200 yards down the hill so we try to respect their privacy and keep it quiet. That is why we have made the back deck a retreat/silent deck. Maximum of 4 guests.

Electricity is generated by solar technology and a generator. All refrigeration and cooking appliances are propane; and so is the basic heat (propane again) - and a very old Jotul wood stove will do the rest. I sleep a lot on the day bed in the living room so the Sawmill can be comfortably rented for up to 4 guests. The outhouse is a thing of the past, just recently I installed a compositing toilet besides the bedroom.We also offer The Summit which is a high elevation, 2-story cabin surrounded by national forest which has evolved into an off-grid living and play space located at nearly 3300 feet elevation on a 1/2 acre flat with an incredible view. There are very private old forest service trails leading directly into the Pisgah National Forest.

It has easy access but the property has abundant trees and is secluded from nearby roads and homes for privacy. The interior, baths, and kitchen are updated but maintain a pleasant farmhouse feel. The host had it perfectly clean and well stocked. It has a bonfire pit and a smaller fire pit for outside gatherings and the hot tub was immaculately clean, heated, and ready for use when we arrived. Kids can enjoy swings and slides. We used it for a small gathering where about a dozen guests gathered during the day and six spent the night. Could not have been happier with property or hosts. Fireworks are legal and permitted within reasonable hours. Horses are welcome.
