Our Trailhead is located 45 minutes west of Asheville, NC and our hike-in trail is 2 miles long with 1,250 feet of elevation gain. If you're looking to escape to the mountains, look no further! Wild Ridge Trail is a place where you can come to unwind, relax, and take in the fresh air of our N.C. mountains! We are located only 10/15 minutes from all of the exciting things Asheville has to offer and just as close to the charming small town of Black Mountain! The cabin at wild ridge is OFF GRID (meaning no power or running water) but I promise, with our solar panels and rain collection system you won't miss being ON the grid at all! The cabin and the drive (or hike) up was designed for the adventurous at heart! So, drive on up if you have 4WD or AWD and if you don't, no worries! Just park in the designated space, grab your gear and hike on up! (The hike in is steep... about 300 ft but takes less than 5 minutes) We have a cooler up there for any perishables you may have, just bring ice :) Please note: We have to close the outdoor heated shower during the cold winter months, however we provide an all season 5 gallon solar shower bag to use during this time. We also have a list at the cabin of other places nearby that provide hot showers in the winter months for a small fee. In the rare event that heavy snow is expected, we will have to close the road leading up to the cabin because of its steepness. If this occurs, you will be given a full refund for the cancellation. To heat the cabin, there is a un-vented wall mounted heater that heats the space really well! Since the cabin is insulated, the heater works quick to heat the small area up so you will stay nice and cozy!

Our parents stayed at the cabin over a fall weekend in late October and it was perfect! We had a campfire, an outing to Asheville and a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and spent a rainy day cozied up in the cabin playing card games and chatting. You are immersed in the trees at the cabin and they have done such a wonderful job of making every part feel well thought out and cared for. The toilet and shower felt cozy, even outside! Deserae responded to all my messages promptly and communicated well! Our parents, visiting from Ireland, said it was one of our best vacation spots and they had such a refreshing time.

This was such a cool cabin. Waking up to the trees right outside the big garage door was amazing. The swing was such a highlight! We had a perfect vacation here. Warning though, pack light unless you have a 4w drive vehicle that can make it up the trail (we didn't). The hike up to the cabin is a strenuous if you have a lot of things to carry.

Weekend Trip to Gold River / camp + cabins

My first time at this camp site. I traveled on my motorcycle so having a tent ready to go helped me in not having to travel with a tent. The bed was very firm, which I liked and conveniently located near the bathrooms and shower. If you want to have a fire, there is a pit there for you and you can also go over by the stream which was nice. The road is near and does get a bit of traffic surprisingly but it didn't affect me sleeping. The showers and bathrooms were nice, clean, and well kept. Will definitely stay there again if I'm ever in the area again!!!

Weekend Trip to Mountain Top Cabins

Wow, expectations exceeded! Doug and Eddy were delightful and helpful hosts on the grounds. We had a group of 12 women meeting up for a mountain getaway :). This property is basically "choose your own adventure" - between going for runs and hikes, hanging out on the porch, leisurely enjoying the views, fire pit with snacks and stars, and napping in the hammocks - we all wanted to stay a few more days! We will be back, for sure. This was everything we wanted the weekend to be and more! A few notes -- there's no electricity provided wired into the cabins, but they do have a battery pack with usb ports you can ask to use (we brought our own chargers, no problem). Theres also lanterns and candles in each cabin and bathroom (lovely touch) but would recommend bringing a handful of additional headlamps for ease of getting around! Also, no issue for our group, but the hike in and out really is no joke :) A pleasant challenge with an amazing reward. Five Stars.

We stayed for a weekend trip, and originally booked the bell tent. They were expecting some rough weather and upgraded us to the riverside cabin since they couldn't put the tents up. We loved the cabin and listening to the river while we slept. The room was cleaner than most hotels we've stayed in, and the bed was very comfortable. We definitely plan on making this a regular spot. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were nice and hot.
