This is the best time to visit—the fall foliage is beautiful making the property perfect for photos (and even better for activities like zip lining). It sits near hiking routes, Lake Lure, Tryon International Equestrian Center, Parker-Binns Vineyard—the list goes on. From animal tours to wine tasting and apple picking nearby; every member of the family can find an adventure. Just step outside and you'll find yourself surrounded by gardens, an abundance of nature and farm animals, fresh farm eggs for breakfast and a peaceful stay guaranteed. Despite their small size, the tiny homes are spacious, open, and equipped with everything you will need. Every stay has brought a day of possibilities to the children in Tanzania. Owners Darin and Heather built the tiny homes on their farmstead in hopes of sharing a bit of Tanzania with others. They wanted to create a place where guests can pause - step back from life's complexities to really reconnect with what matters most. Glamping in comfort with animals!

The Perch

This is the perfect tiny home for sharing because there is a bed in a private area and a pull out bed on the other side of the structure, with a bathroom in the middle. A little close to the chickens, so bring earplugs if you want to sleep in! This was an incredible stay - comfortable beds, temperature control, a nice bathroom and kitchen... couldn't recommend more highly!

The most comfortable glamping!

If you're looking for a real kitchen in addition to your camping experience, this is the site for you. The kitchen was totally stocked with a fridge, stove and oven, and basically everything we could possibly need to cook a dinner to then go enjoy by the fire pit. We didn't use the washer/dryer, but we did have fun laughing about our "camping" experience being better supplied than a hotel room. The Appalachian served as our meeting place for our group of friends because it was so roomy. Overall the entire site was lovely. We had fun feeding the animals and got the chance to catch up around a private fire-pit. Highly recommend this stay near beautiful Asheville!

SO comfortable and peaceful

Tiny Cabin

I had a group of friends here and we rented the Appalachian, Tiny Cabin, and The Perch. We could not have been more comfortable in the tiny homes with the completely furnished bathrooms and comfy beds. Being able to turn on the heat or AC contributed to the pampered feeling. As for the activities, the animals were SO much fun. Sure, the chickens could be a little bit loud in the morning, but worth it for the fresh eggs that were left on our doorstep. The piglets were also adorable! Proximity to Asheville made a day trip super convenient. Each night we would all gather around one of the several fire-pits. The environment was private and we felt so supported by our hosts to have the exact sort of outdoor experience we were looking for.

The Perfect Tiny Home and Farm!

The Perch

The Perch at The Farmstead at Mill Spring was perfect for our family getaway. The kids loved the farm animals, the vegetable gardens, and herb gardens, Brian and April were fantastic! They ensured we had everything that we needed and could take advantage of all the property had to offer from visiting with the baby pigs to giving treats to the goats and sheep. The kids picked a few green beans and collected a few fresh eggs. Both were delicious! The s’mores were such a treat. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit! The tiny home had everything we needed and MORE for our family of four. The Perch is located right next to the chicken coop. The roosters provided our alarms each morning :-) We really enjoyed ourselves. We can’t wait to see how this farmstead continues to blossom!!

Cozy stay at the Burrow

The Burrow

We had such a great weekend staying at the Burrow tiny home at The Farmstead at Mill Spring, NC. The Burrow was cozy, with a comfortable loft bed and futon. The large (for a tiny house) fridge was great to have for the weekend and the house was stocked with all the kitchen utensils we needed. They even had coffee available. Staying at the Farmstead was a great experience for our family - it was a safe place for our 3 year old to run around and explore and we all enjoyed getting a tour of all the animals and garden beds they have there. It's a great location - very close to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, though the Farmstead itself holds its own. We highly recommend the Farmstead at Mill Spring for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in nature with all the charm of camping but with the comfort of a bed and AC at night. And you've got to ask Darin (the owner) about his heart for providing education to African children by means of this tiny home community. It'll rock your world! So do yourself a favor and enjoy a weekend of "glamping" while at the same time making a difference in this world.

Appalachian Blue on the Farm

This is our second time here and loved the Appalachian Blue cabin! I particularly love the farm experience: hearing the donkey bray and the rooster crowing, watching my children hold the baby chicks and getting gardening tips. It was an amazing experience of growth for our children and they did not want to leave. I met some really wonderful people over the weekend and feel so blessed by our time there. I loved the fireside chats. I did bring our folding chairs and I’m glad we did so more people could gather around. It was really nice to make bread and mini pizzas in the oven at the cabin.

Adorable Tiny Home Village/Farm!!

Very beautiful drive into the area, easy-to-spot signs from the main street. Gravel roads throughout so don’t be concerned with the steep drive down, on arrival…my Mini Cooper handled it, no problem. I was really surprised by the size of mine, compared to other photos I’d seen! I was also very happy to see how modern it was inside. The washer/dryer and shower were extra nice, after spending an entire day outside! This tiny home community has a berry farm, animal farm, chicken coop, duck pond, and rabbit hole to entertain you. Each tiny home has its own private outdoor areas and driveways with two communal fire pit areas. There are free-roaming chickens in areas so there is a unique feel, something you don’t get at usual campgrounds or properties.
