The Cove consists of 12 acres with a tributary stream and spring fed ponds less than a half mile from the Toccoa River. It was originally the water source for the surrounding properties prior to the city installing a water system. It is completely private and unspoiled nature, with about a mile of walking trails throughout. The Mountaintop is a 3 acre high elevation site bordering 140 acres of undisturbed woods and is also very close to the Toccoa River. Fantastic location yet very private for base camp to access the many activities in this area, or enjoy the Toccoa River. It is the only campground in Fannin County limited to only one group at a time. Each site includes 2 access points to the Toccoa River. The Gibbs Drive community river access lot has a charcoal grill, picnic table, boat launch, swimming rock and fire pit with chairs. The Toccoa River Forest community river access lot has a big boat ramp. The river is controlled flow and usually at low water from dawn to about 2 pm, ideal for fishing or swimming/wading/boulder bopping. The River release schedule is available online at the website TVA.gov. The River has swift current when the dam is opened for release, usually daily. This property is conveniently located in Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559, just 4 miles off the 4-lane highway (Highway 515/76) and just a short drive to Blue Ridge, Georgia; Blairsville, Georgia; Murphy, North Carolina, McCaysville, Georgia and Copper Hill, Tennessee. It is a paved road drive all the way to the entrance. It is located just a few miles from the center of downtown Blue Ridge with art galleries, many restaurants, brew pubs, shopping, the Blue Ridge Brewing Company, Mercier Orchard, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad, and more! Outdoor deck features comfortable Adirondack chairs, a Weber charcoal grill, and a fire pit for campfires. I'll provide you with wood (on a donation basis . . . pay what you like) campfires. Matches and paper provided, too, to help get the fire started. The play area offers opportunities limited only by your imagination. Sunbathing? Stargazing? Weekend Trip to Herzen Platz (a place in the Heart)

I can’t recommend Mr. Gary’s site enough! My boyfriend and I had such a lovely time, and he was a gracious host. This was our first time glamping (we normally camp primitive), and it felt like absolute luxury. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of seating, and the access to electricity was a huge plus. The sound of the bubbling brook beside the camp was so nice to fall asleep to. The location is great because it is peaceful and secluded, but it’s also 10 minutes away from the Main Street of Helen. It’s an ideal location if you want to enjoy the quiet and relax in nature while still having the option to easily participate in civilization. It rained intermittently during our stay, but it did not affect the fun we had one bit. We stayed cozy and clean, especially with access to a hot shower! We did have to fight the mosquitos a bit due to the humid, rainy weather, which would have been no issue if we hadn’t forgotten to pack bug spray. So just remember to pack your bug spray and you will be all right! And don’t sleep on the breakfast menu and other fun packages the host offers. Breakfast was incredible and definitely made with love. It really added to the experience and made our anniversary trip even more special. We can’t wait to come back again! Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

As long as you know you are primitive camping (with an outhouse but no where to shower) then this is a great spot! On the deck there were various items including a couple chairs and a table. There were other items but I didn’t look through enough to remember what all was there. There was also a camp grill and a picnic table. The neighbors have dogs that barked a couple times but they were no bother to me. I did hear something rummaging outside my tent in the dark morning hours, I think it was a fox. But if you’re good with primitive nature, stay here! Not a far drive to local hiking trails and morganton rec area. Thank you to the host for thorough directions!

Weekend Trip to Salty Pines Hideaway

I had such a wonderful stay at Salty Pines! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome. They helped carry our things from the car. Tiki gave us a fun ride on the 4x4, and even took the time to play with my son, which meant so much to him. The yurt was adorable, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The bed gave me the best night’s sleep I’ve ever had while sleeping "outside". My son absolutely loved playing with the hammock, and we both enjoyed spending time around the fire pit. I really like the picnic bar table. It was such a nice touch and made meals outside even more enjoyable. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into creating this place. We made some wonderful memories here, and I'll definitely be back soon!

My crew had a great evening at Salty Pines. Got up early the next day to go whitewater rafting (camp is 20 min. from the Ocoee). Next visit I plan to stay for the whole weekend! Exceptional amenities for being so far out in the woods.

Gary’s place was exactly what we needed from his beautiful site, his charming personality, and lovely dogs. He was super quick to respond to all my questions (which I had many) and I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get away and feel like they are in nature but so close to so many fun things to do.

2 nights at Your Toccoa River Cove!

This was a great Hipcamp spot: private, secluded, and well appointed. The shelter was fantastic. A perfect spot to prepare dinner and chill out. Will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Salty Pines Hideaway

This place is awesome. It's situated in thick forest with lots of greenery. The yurt I slept in was super nice and the campground comes with a shower, bathhouse, and WiFi. Perfect for an inexpensive but quality getaway from Chattanooga or other places
