The River Life

17 sites · Lodging, Tents9 acres · Cosby, TN
Our location is phenomenal we are an hour from Knoxville and Asheville and just about 1/4 mile off I-40. Right at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and 35 minutes from Gatlinburg about 40 minutes to Pigeon Forge (Dollywood), also about 45 minutes to Sevierville and one of my favorite Tanger Outlets!! The beautiful Smoky Mountains the National Park is filled with hiking trails and horse stables and trails. Some of the best white water rafting is less then 5 miles up the road along with zip lining and a lil taste of moonshine here and there. This property is primitive with no electric and has a camping style bathhouse. IT’s recommended for outdoor lovers and people that are not to needy. Site 7, 1 and 9 are the only direct riverfront.

Twin Valley Horse Ranch

5 sites · Lodging100 acres · Walland, TN
My late husband and myself bought the property in 1983 and it was all just overgrown land!We worked, cleared, built horse shelters/barns, cabins, cut trails, built the outdoor chapel for our wedding and of course fenced it all in for the horses! Started sharing with guests in 1993, so we have met so many amazing folks from all over the world!  Pass thru our gate into another world and leave all your worries and tensions behind. We are all about getting back to what is real -- nature, animals/horses and each other. Complete privacy! There are many mountain trails leaving right from our property! Lots to explore. You can even hike to the outdoor chapel with the pretty view of the Chilhowee Mountain range.  It is a short hike to the barn area for those who want to spend time rubbing the pot belly pigs' tummy, walk the mini horses, groom the love bug~Junebug (donkey), pet horses, cuddle with bunnies and feed chickens!  Every morning and night we set a time for all those who want to become involved with the care/feeding of petting animals and horses!

Roamstead

77 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents6 acres · Cosby, TN
Roamstead was born on a family RV trip across the country. Our founders noticed their glamorous plans often ended in glorified parking lots or dirty campgrounds without amenities or thought regarding design. Alongside that, many campgrounds seemed unapproachable to those who hadn’t been before. A vision was born to reinvent 'roughing it' in a way that could welcome all adventurers to experience the magic of the great outdoors. We believe the beauty of nature should be experienced by everyone. It's good for your health, and the more we connect with and learn about the outdoors, the more we'll feel compelled to protect it. Whether you've been camping all your life or this would be your first trip, we're here for you. We aim to build a bridge (you know, a metaphorical one) to the great outdoors, where all adventures can truly feel welcome. Roamstead is committed to making our outdoor spaces accessible to everyone. At our Smoky Mountains location, we're partnering with Friends of the Smokies to do just that. Friends assists the National Park Service in its mission to preserve and protect the Great Smoky Mountains National Park by raising funds and public awareness, and providing volunteers for needed projects. They restore trails, build handicap accessible access points, and provide urban youth educational opportunities in the park, to name just a few of their many projects. A dollar of each stay at Roamstead Smoky Mountains is donated back to Friends of the Smokies to help continue their mission.

This ain’t the Ritz, but as far as glamping goes, this is as fancy as it gets. You will have a full bathroom with hot water, a rainfall shower head, and a normal toilet. Our plumbing is just like that of a regular house. The tent has split unit air conditioning /heat. Relax by the fire table, take in the stars, take a ride down to the lake access, enjoy boat ramp access, and the romance of a night under canvas in a comfy bed. It doesn’t get more Insta-gram than this! Escape the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary with our glamping tent.Nestled in a serene natural setting, our tent offer the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern luxury. Come Enjoy firefly season!! BEFORE YOU BOOK: 1. Guest Must be 21+ Years to Rent 2. During winter, the tent can be cold as it is not insulated. However, we provide portable heaters and heated blankets to keep you warm. 3. When you go glamping, it's important to remember to bring bug spray. Glamping is a luxurious form of camping, but that doesn't mean you won't encounter bugs. So, it's always better to be prepared and have bug spray on hand to make your experience more enjoyable. 4. The glamping site is located alongside the road. 5. There are some twigs falling on the roof of the glamping from a tree above, which can be a startling noise.
