Camp Chet
7 sites · Lodging, RVs994 acres · Whitwell, TNCamp Chet was founded with the purpose to help people encounter God through outdoor experiences. It encompasses 994 acres of private forested land on Whitwell Mountain, which is part of the Cumberland Plateau in Southeast Tennessee.   Take a hike on miles of trails comprised of forest paths, old wagon roads, or coal mining roads.  If you find a chunk of coal on the ground feel free to take it home with you as a souvenir.  If you are a history buff, you may be interested in discovering previous caretakers from the late 1800's and early 1900's in nearby cemeteries.  The camp ground is on top of a mountain, and you will have to go through a locked gate and drive over a mile and half on a bumpy gravel/dirt road. You will be most comfortable in a vehicle that is suitable for rugged terrain.Day trips less than an hour away include the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Nickajack Lake and Bat Cave among many others. Come to hike, relax, bike, explore, and recharge.

The Falls at Sewanee Creek
11 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents45 acres · Tracy City, TNWe came to this magical place to found a self-reliant, intentional eco-community when I retired from corporate life in 2006. It's called the Village on Sewanee Creek, named after the creek 800 feet below the bluff where we are located. There are now a dozen homesteads here and a small thriving community. I traveled the world as a senior executive for Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, Papa Johns, Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and other retail franchises, making the world safe for Pizza, Ice Cream, Pancakes Video Rentals and American convenience. And I was ready for something more fufilling. I scouted for a place of exquisite natural beauty and I found it here. I bought way too much land just before the real estate bust and learned how to turn a nice fortune into a very small one. I faced challenges and had lots of fun. Now I want to share our experience. It's the Village 2.0 for guests. Who knows, you may decide to stay. Or not. Life in the city is OK as long as you can get away frequently. I'm convinced if you love nature and the outdoors, this is the best place to celebrate it.

The Heart Center
7 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents30 acres · Robbinsville, NCThe Heart Center sits on 30 acres of beautiful forest land and it is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest.  The place is an old school site that was literally left to be buried by the forest, until I came along and decided to fix it up, and create a holistic sanctuary for people wishing to get away from it all. A place where one can heal, contemplate, re-energize, and relax in a quiet and pristine environment. Feel secluded enough to experience your own inner stillness; and, yet, connected enough to enjoy many beautiful area attractions that are just minutes away such as: Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Fontana Dam and the Appalachian Trail, 20 Mile Ranger Station, Cherohala Skyway, and Santeetlah Lake! The Heart Center is about love, unity, harmony, joy and re-connecting with ourselves, others, and Mother Nature. At the Heart Center, we take special interest in providing our guests with a uniquely peaceful, positive, comfortable, and relaxing experience! Whether you are laying on a hammock, walking the labyrinth, or just sitting on the deck taking in the sights and sounds, we want you to enjoy.

In the family since the 1800's
13 sites · Lodging, Tents7 acres · TNI'm Active Duty Air Force, stationed in Virginia with my Wife and our 3 teenage boys, until I can retire and live part time in the Mountains of NC and part time in Alaska! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We hope to build a cabin there soon. In the mean time - it's the PERFECT RV camping spot. Thanks for reading this little tid bit about us. We love to explore the mountains and are excited to share our cabins with you.

Twin Valley Horse Ranch
5 sites · Lodging100 acres · Walland, TNMy late husband and myself bought the property in 1983 and it was all just overgrown land!We worked, cleared, built horse shelters/barns, cabins, cut trails, built the outdoor chapel for our wedding and of course fenced it all in for the horses! Started sharing with guests in 1993, so we have met so many amazing folks from all over the world!  Pass thru our gate into another world and leave all your worries and tensions behind. We are all about getting back to what is real -- nature, animals/horses and each other. Complete privacy! There are many mountain trails leaving right from our property! Lots to explore. You can even hike to the outdoor chapel with the pretty view of the Chilhowee Mountain range.  It is a short hike to the barn area for those who want to spend time rubbing the pot belly pigs' tummy, walk the mini horses, groom the love bug~Junebug (donkey), pet horses, cuddle with bunnies and feed chickens!  Every morning and night we set a time for all those who want to become involved with the care/feeding of petting animals and horses!

Whether hiking to Rock City and Lookout Mountain, kayaking or rafting through the Tennessee River Gorge, or trekking through caves to reach Ruby Falls, Chattanooga is brimming with outdoor adventures. Getting back to nature doesn’t have to mean pitching your tent in the backcountry or driving your RV up the mountainside―the Scenic City also has glamping options as impressive as its mountain views. Check into a romantic treehouse in the woods near Falls Creek State Park, spend a night in a fully furnished Tiny House or geodesic dome surrounded by forest trails and waterfalls, or escape the crowds at an off-grid cabin on the outskirts of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. For the full glamping experience, choose a glampsite with air-conditioning to combat the sticky summer heat, a fire pit for toasting your s’mores, and an outdoor hot tub, so you can end an action-packed day chilling beneath the Tennessee stars.
