This property was purchased by my husband and I in 1980 from Margret Cetera mother of Peter Cetera lead singer of the band Chicago. When purchased the home was a small non descript cottage with a pole barn in the back field. It has grown to support grape, blackberry and muscedime vines.The original home has expanded through time and around 20 years ago, the pole barn was converted into a large 1200 square foot cabin with modern conveniences. My husband and I actually enjoyed living full time in the cabin for a period of 5 years before returning to reside in the main house. The cabin consists of 1 large common space room with sitting area and kitchen. The antique farm sink has hot and cold running water. Also available is a large refrigerator, toaster, microwave oven, hot plate, coffee pot and portable dishwasher. The antique Hoosier cabinet holds cooking utensils and silverware and located above the kitchen counter you will find plates, bowls, cups and glasses for your use. The water is well water, pure and delicious without chemicals. The cabin is equipped with a full size pool table for our guests enjoyment. The master bedroom offers a comfortable sleigh bed, full bathroom with shower and just outside the bedroom is a comfortable patio to enjoy, complete with table and chairs for two and outdoor fire place. Also available is a twin bed tucked in the corner of the area between the main room and bedroom. For guests wishing to continue their exercise routine, a modern treadmill is available as well. For a quiet night of movie enjoyment, bring your favorite movies and make use of the DVD/VCR machine and wide screen television. Please park on the gravel driveway only. Chickens roam freely during the day, and while they’re friendly, the rooster can be protective. Our dog, Petty, may wander by to say hello—let us know if that’s an issue and we can make arrangements. The tree swing and swing set are for children 12 and under.
The barn accommodates two adults, and the loft is for up to two children. Please use caution with the ladder and never leave children unattended. Guests must be at least 25 to book.
Your unit is part of a larger barn; the remaining space is used as a personal workshop that owners may occasionally access. These areas remain securely locked.

This was a lovely one room historic log cabin with an attached very nice bathroom. We had everything we needed for a one week stay.
We brought our Insta pot to cook with, but he also supplied a very good set up with a gas or charcoal grill to cook on.
It was a beautiful and great location. The host was exceptional, and we enjoyed visiting with him daily.
We would definitely stay there again!

Our host Ashley was wonderful. The cabin/bunkhouse felt new and was exactly as described. It has a great atmosphere with a wood burning stove, kerosene lamps, a big front porch with rocking chairs, a fire pit, and a grill. There’s no power but we did have cell service on our phones.
We got to meet all the beautiful horses; they were friendly and happy to be loved on, which made for a really special experience. We had a trail ride scheduled, but it git rained out.
Overall we had a great time and plan to go back in the fall.

Incredible place to camp! The creatures are really cool and the camper is just awesome. My favorite part was listening to bigfoot recordings from 1975 on the provided cassette tapes while sitting around the fire. Also has a good supply of VHS tapes to watch on the provided little TV while it stormed outside.

My dog and I are on a cross country road trip and prefer to avoid hotels if we can. We loved staying at Creature Camp! My only regret was that I was too tired to enjoy all the cool things in trailer. Whenever I travel back in the future I’d definitely stay again.

What a hidden gem! We stopped here on our way home and were pleasantly surprised by how pristine everything was. Darren was a thoughtful host who had fresh eggs waiting for us in the cabin. Between the gorgeous grounds, morning fishing, and evening trip to the river, it was the perfect place to unwind. There is nothing quite like the view from the front porch rocking chairs. We loved every second and 10/10 highly recommend staying here.

This place was magical. You sleep in what was the original kitchen on the homestead, complete with a big rock fireplace, which you are welcome to use.
There is also a corn crib and a one room schoolhouse on the property along with the original log cabin.
Keith was the perfect host.

A charming little cabin on a beautiful property! I stayed here with my three dogs, and they loved having the space to roam freely. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, and the modern bathroom was a nice touch. Both the main room and the bathroom have their own window unit. Keith was wonderful to chat with, a friendly and welcoming host.

Highly recommend Backcountry site 2, if you are up for about a mile hike to get there. It was secluded back in the wetlands area and is a hidden gem. Very large site with lots of trees for my hammock. One of my favorite parts of the trip was hearing the symphony of wetlands animals through the sunset, early evening, and sunrise. Deer wandered in the area and we heard lots of owls at night, and saw one in the trees.
Camping, hiking, and disc golf were our favorite activities. The Duck River was flooded out of its banks, so fishing pretty much was impossible. We gave up after losing lots of hooks and bobbers to the trees.
It was beautiful. I will be heading back!
