This place is great! As a solo woman it felt very safe. Just like other reviews said, the traffic was a bit noticeable from the Quackshack, but definitely gets quiet after the sun goes down. Didn’t bother me at all! Also I highly recommend the hot tub. Nick is a great host, hope to return again this summer!

Everything about this place was perfect! From being greeted with such a warm welcome, to the pottery area, to the beautiful view that I woke up to in the quack shack!!! it was the most beautiful day!

Nick, our host was super welcoming and helpful with the tour of his property and the treehouse.
The space had everything you need, so much so that I would say I overpacked for our stay.

Such a fabulous host and overall excellent experience!
Just book it and know you are going to experience something truly unique on this property and be well taken care of. Every detail has been very uniquely crafted. During our stay we felt very safe, relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful sounds of the river. The nights came alive with a beautiful moon and the sounds of nature. Coyotes in the far distance, raccoon, and a beautiful herd of deer drinking from the river.
I hope all others who visit will respect and appreciate it as much as we did!

We had a wonderful stay at the Quack Shack. Lovely river views. Nick was a kind host and made sure we had everything we needed. The sleeping arrangements were comfy and the place was well maintained. Easy walk from your car to the spot. Weather at night was in the high 40s and we slept comfortably with doors closed, blankets, and warm clothes.

We loved staying at the Quack shack, and had lots of fun learning about the pottery studio and natural building that Nick does :) would love to stay again!

The Quack Shack (Romantic Glamping)
This structure is so well-designed and the hot tea/coffee available and wood fired hot tub made it extra special! We propped open the siding and my son read a book while I cooked our dinner in the chiminea on the deck - so lovely.

We had a great time at the Quack Shack!! Nick was super nice and met us at his pottery studio to show us around and then we had the place to ourselves all night. He was kind enough to leave us with scrap wood to make a fire in the chimnea!!! Everything was clean and the A-frame was super cozy. Absolutely wonderful glamping experience complete with two heaters to keep us warm all night, nearby bathrooms, and a stocked coffee/tea bar. We would absolutely come back and recommend this place to friends!

I loved staying on Nicks land, the site was beautiful and relaxing. He had all the amenities we needed and then some.
He met us at the tea Hut to give us a tour of everything and updates on work he's doing to improve his sight which will include a sauna and another hot tub, So we will definitely be going back.
He was a great host and he let us check out a little bit later to give us more time the following day to enjoy the shack.

What a great place for a midweek getaway! It’s just a couple of weeks after Helene, so I texted Nick to make sure he was still up for visitors. His pottery shop got some mud damage but the Quack Shack is elevated so it was unscathed by the storm. Brevard is open & ready for visitors. Pisgah & DuPont were closed for hiking, but Nick pointed me to some great trails nearby. It got to low 30s my 2nd night, but I was cozy in the treehouse as Nick has installed a small propane heater that kept the hut warm. During the day, just lift the awning & you’re in the woods/over the river!
There is a bit of road noise during the day/early evening-even though you feel like you’re in the middle of the woods, you’re actually less than 100 yards from the hwy. It dies down after commute hrs & the birds & critters start up their evening music.
Nick was a great host, ensuring I was well taken care of, but giving plenty of space to enjoy some respite. Highly recommend & hope to come back soon!

Nick was an outstanding host from the moment we booked, until the moment it was time to check out. Very peaceful spot on the river, and just a short walk up the trail and you've got a coffee and tea bar that Nick must be very proud of. Would recommend to anyone that's looking for a place to just relax for a night or two!

This was a magical experience! The place is located next to a pottery shop. It’s very secluded and right on the French broad river. The house is a-frame and one side completely opens up. We slept all night in the fresh air listening to all the sounds. It was fantastic. Nick is a fantastic and accommodating host. Close to lots of outdoor activity. And shops/restaurants in Brevard

Quack Shack was fun! Nick showed me around then gave me complete privacy. The shack over the river provided me with a really cozy place to sleep. Outdoor shower has on demand hot water and is also in a private spot over the river. The coffee/tea bar in the morning was a nice added touch. He also had a fridge for me to use, with half and half for the coffee, and provided drinking water. It’s a great place!

We had a great night at the Quack Shack and we’re looking forward to going back one day. Staying on the river was super dreamy, and the structure itself is really beautiful. It was comfortable and clean. Nick is a wonderful, generous host! There are also great places to eat nearby. We enjoyed Morning Social for brunch. All around great spot.

Very unique. Well designed. Private.
The structure is so cool, and not too far of a hike down a lushly wooded trail behind Duckpond Pottery. Hip is an appropriate adjective for Nick’s glampsite, and if you love art, pottery, creative lighting, wood, coffee and/or teas, you are definitely in for a treat.
If you have the time to talk to Nick, you will most likely learn something and be inspired.

I was looking for a charming spot to stay for an overnight trip in Brevard. I came across the Quack Shack and instantly booked. I could not be happier with the site and my experience overall. There was an unexpected rain storm that rolled in the night we arrived and it knocked out the power, but we went with it and listened to the rain hit the roof and just chilled. The morning was sunny and beautiful and we enjoyed time on the porch and exploring the pottery area owned by Nick, the host. It’s such a charming area, beautiful scenery and perfect privacy. If you’re looking for a nice little getaway that’s close to downtown, no fuss/no muss, but also extremely cool — stay at the Quack Shack! The host, Nick, is incredibly nice. He had cold waters in the fridge for us and a unique method for making coffee :) The outdoor shower is a MUST! You have a gorgeous view of the river and nearby corn field — with total privacy! Seriously, it’s a wonderful experience and you will be glad you stayed here. Can’t wait to return!!!

Very cute spot on the French Broad. Nick set us up with a nice fire and tea and coffee in the morning. A bit tricky to put in 3 people, but we made it work. We slept with the "door" open and the fan provided on. We had a nice night!

Nick's treehouse was the perfect little place for my family and I to relax at for the weekend. He was very welcoming, and helpful answering any questions we had. His pottery shop is really nice, filled with amazing things he makes. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Gota mention that we came when I'm 29 weeks pregnant, and it was still an amazing stay.

Nicks treehouse retreat was JUST what we needed for a little respite, inspiration and magic! Nothing beats opening the treehouse doors to a river view and a walk through the bamboo forest✨ Just BOOK! You won't be disappointed! Nick is kind and accommodating with great communication. Be sure to check out his pottery while you're there too! We'll definitely be back!✨✨✨

We had an amazing experience at the Quack Shack. The location and treehouse were magical. The host was attentive and available when we needed him but gave us space to enjoy the property with privacy. We had a fire, watched the sunset, then the moonrise, with a the sounds of the river rushed by all night long. The beds were comfy and the hut was cozy. The hammocks were a nice touch. In the morning we had maté tea and coffee with Nick. He had bossanova playing in the background (how did he know that’s what we listen to at dinner at home?). We talked about pottery and his future plans for the property. He gave us some ideas for local hikes. If I could give it an 11 out of 10, I would. We will definitely be back!
