A Leafpeeper's Dream

2 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents26 acres ¡ Marshall, NC
Leafpeeping, birdwatching, stargazing... It's all here waiting for you. Experience a unique getaway in our 1986 Avion Silver Edition RV, nestled in a serene farm valley cradled by the beautiful waters of Walnut Creek. This vintage gem offers a cozy, rustic vibe with modern comforts and tranquil surroundings. Rejuvenate your body and mind in the cedar barrel sauna, cold splash shower, and a soak in the creek. Mountain views, stunning sunsets, hiking, bird watching, leaf-peeping, and stargazing are all spirit lifters for nature lovers and romantics. The Avion boasts original solid wood furnishings, gorgeous views, a great shower, and an all around comfortable space to relax. The mattress and shower both get a lot of compliments, the kitchen as well. You've got just about everything you need to prepare some great meals while you are here, including an outdoor grill and fire pit. You are about 50 paces from the sauna deck. Let us know what time you think you'd like to use the sauna and we will have it ready for you, we just need a couple of hours notice. You can use the outdoor shower just about anytime you'd like to, clothing is optional in the sauna and the shower area, please always sit on a towel in the sauna. The creek is at the bottom of the hill by the milking parlor. Watch your step getting in. The water is fantastic and there are lots of nice spots for a soak. Hiking the ridges is fantastic and there are great spots for picnics or just throwing down a blanket and kicking back to take in the surroundings. We will happily tell you the best spots to explore, it's 26 acres so you can easily spend all day on the property. There are also fantastic hiking trails nearby as well. Wildlife is abundant here, deer, rabbits, turkeys, and so many birds! We own a cafĂŠ in New Orleans and great coffee is important to us, so the place has a few great options for your morning brew as well as some great coffees. Feel free to explore the property. Currently the barns are not open for guests but we do plan on having them ready for yoga, sound baths, and music nights in the near future. Once you pass the Avion, please stay on the lower driveway away from our house at the end of the top driveway. The creek and lower fields: Enjoy them, the creek entry is by the milking parlor. Feel free to explore the creek but be mindful we have neighbors about 50 yards to the east so please do not go any further up than that. The other direction will bring you too two big tunnels that go under the highway, at that point you are no longer on our property so please do not go any further than that. Be mindful, this is nature, though we haven't seen any snakes ourselves they are out here so always be mindful and stick to areas that are not overgrown. The ridges and hills: There are three ridges you can hike and explore. It's a nice hike up that you can make by following the road up above the casing barn. Just follow the road all the way back then through the big gate up the hillside. The main ridge makes a horseshoe and bordered at the top by a fence and woods. There is a big gate at the top of this ridge that leads to the back ridge that runs along a fence to the left and woods to the right. You can go all the way to the hill top, it's like a natural cul-de-sac. Please do not hike past sunset as it can get very dark on the ridges and there are coyote and other critters that we would rather let roam un-bothered. Amazing stargazing happens every night conveniently located on your front porch, we highly suggest it. We are happy to point you in the right direction for all sorts of activities while you are here. Please message us through airbnb and we will get back to you as soon as we can. When we are around we are happy to say hi and introduce you to Sissie, Larry, and Freddie, or loving pack of dogs.
