Weekend Trip to Ancient Spring Farm

This was my second time coming to this wonderful spot. Rebecca does everything right. Last time I came solo and this time I came with my partner and his very anxious little dog. It was the dogs first time camping and they did great. They both loved it as much as I do. Can't wait to come back again.

Weekend Trip to Ararat River Campground

Was a solid experience overall. I had left my tent stakes at home and they hooked me up with a complete set. Camp was mostly quiet, though it also wasn’t full. A burn ban was in effect and every one was respecting that, which is also a plus. Bathrooms were a mixed bag. Hot water reliable, but too hot. Design was nice and clearly new Toilet was good, but there was only one of them. Soap dispenser was out of soap. And they could do for a more powerful ventilation fan. Didn’t use the showers. Thh he e toilet and ventilation situation was fine as I was in late and out early, but I could see it getting gnarly on a busier weekend. Will stay there againthough. The steam was nice and the crickets were peaceful. They had good burn barrels and picnic tables, plus great places for the tent. Lack of cellular reception was a bonus for me, as well.

3 nights at Hidden CLT Wilderness

We enjoyed our stay in Miranda's camper. Our kids loved the experience of sleeping in a camper, ample enough for a family of 4. We enjoyed the marshmallows Miranda had left for us to enjoy by the fire, that was graciously ready with firewood. The location is great as well, near to all the stores in Denver.

1 night at the Sandbox

We enjoyed our spot by the river. Other campers not too close, and other than the occasional barking dog, it was quite peaceful. Sandy bottom river, would be great for swimming in warmer weather. Wading was cold at first but warmed up after a few minutes. We did not investigate the bathroom area as we are independent/self contained and it looked like they may have been under construction as the doors were off the hinges. All in all, a great spot for what we needed - a quiet spot to sleep and prepare breakfast. Two nights this trip and will definitely be back if we are in the area again. Emerald Hollow Mine was a short drive away and very fun place to visit.

We had a delightful visit, very peaceful and site 4 was very private and accommodated our 22’ trailer just fine. Sandra and Roy are terrific, very accommodating and knowledgeable of surrounding area. Exploring the area was really fun, so many vineyards and the town of Wilkesboro is very quaint. Their outdoor recreation area at Cub Creek is as wonderful as beautiful. Great pickleball play as well. Will definitely visit again.

We purchased our first new travel trailer and were dying to take it somewhere kind of close to home, but far enough away to test the actual ride with the camper. We went for a quick winter camping trip Pinnacle. Enuf about that tho - The campground was very nice, quiet, clean, and appears they just keep on working on making this top notch! We met Rekenna on Saturday of our stay and she was so amazing to meet and chat with. The Power poles, water and sewer hookups were wonderful, we had no problems even with 17-degree mornings! I would suggest heated water hose for any cold camping! The Bathhouses were super clean and warm! I'd totally recommend this for anyone wanting a quick trip. We don't have small children, but they do have a playground for the littles to play and the creek by spot 18, was beautiful! Thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful space Rekenna!!! Oh and Pilot Mt. and Mt. Airy are close for good shopping and great food!

Great Hipcamp experience! The hosts have a beautiful property with spacious and clean campsites. Mine had power and water and plenty of firewood. The old tobacco barn brought back memories of growing up spending most weekends on family farms. There is a well-marked trail through the woods that the dog and I both enjoyed, along with the sounds of owls, woodpeckers and then lots of songbirds this morning. Hosts were super friendly and accommodating - highly recommend!!

2 nights at The Barn Loft

We loved this farm! The rolling pastures are beautiful, it was a delight to see and talk to all of the animals. Brittany was very accommodating, providing us with some wood for the burn barrel. This is not meant to be a negative comment, buy if you stay during cold snaps, I highly suggest you layer up. As cozy, clean, and cute as the loft is, it does not get warm in the least when it's in the 20s. We layered up, brought extra sleeping bags so we were fine. The animals in the barn below have their idea of noise level. Ha! We appreciate farm life, so none of the various noises bothered us. It was quite amusing. The bathroom downstairs is very rustic, but clean. We didn't have the opportunity to check out the outdoor shower. We will definitely return!

5 nights at Hidden CLT Wilderness

This was my first ever glamping experience and i couldn’t be more happy about it. This camper is in a quiet wooded neighborhood. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Miranda and her husband(whose name i cannot remember for the life of me) were perfect hosts! They thought of absolutely everything to make my stay cozy and relaxing. Even when i had silly questions, her response time was very quick and she helped with anything needed. I also had my dog with me and even she said this was 5 stars. Definitely would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Wagoner's

Love this place for the third time! Right off the highway (within minutes) and feel extremely safe. Convenient gas for big rigs and restaurants if you unhook. Justin is over the top accommodating. Your need is his goal and has always come through. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at Eden Oaks Vineyard and Campground. It is such a beautiful spot with lovely mountain views. We had plenty of space and privacy and appreciated the many trails to explore with our dog. The hosts were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for the night. Eden Oaks Vineyard & Campground

Eden Oaks Vineyard & Campground was a tobacco farm (antique tobacco barn still on property). The house was built in 1910 and has been updated. We purchased it in 2014 and converted it into a vineyard. We have RV sites with 50 amp and 30 amp electric hookups and water, and tents sites. For 2023 our rates are $30/night for RV Sites (50 amp or 30 amp electric hookups and water) and $25/night for Tent Sites. Tent sites do not have electricity or water hookups, but water is available at the well. (Due to inflation, 2024 our rates will be $30/night for RV Sites, $25/night for Tent Sites.) We do not have a dump station, but we do have a Port A John and a list of dump stations nearby. Campfires are allowed unless we have a state issued burning ban. Campers are responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires. Please be extremely careful during dry or drought conditions. Conveniently located one mile from Hwy 421 but remote and peaceful with plenty of room to roam on our 22 acres with grapevines, fruit trees, forest, creeks, fields, goats, Beagle and Jackabee (Beagle/Jack Russell) dogs, cows, chickens, ducks and goats. Also, we have wildlife such as birds, squirrels, groundhogs, deer, raccoons, opossums, etc. We are about 15 miles from Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro (home of the Merle Fest and Apple Festival). Eden Oaks is 18 miles from W. Kerr Scott Dam & Reservoir, 24 miles from Stone Mt. State Park, and 10 miles from Elkin (sponsors of the Wine Festival and Pumpkin Festival). Eden Oaks is in the heart of the Yadkin Valley and Swan Creek AVAs (American Viticultural Area). We're next door (3 miles) to Raffaldini and Piccione Vineyards. Take a day trip to Boone, Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Airy, Winston-Salem, Charlotte or additional areas of interest. We love it here and would like to share it with you. Learn more about this land: Shaded and semiprivate in woods with creek on property. Located on a working vineyard in the Swan Creek AVA. Primitive camp sites with campfire pits. Water, garbage cans, some sites have electricity available. We offer individual sites of up to 4 people and group sites of up to 12 people. Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. Here you can relax; watch nature; meet our chickens, goats, horse, cats, and dog; learn about archaeology, history, plants, and mead making; and get eggs and homegrown seasonal food. Listen to birdsong and watch clouds during the day, wander a path through our ca. 5 acres of woods, see fireflies in the evening, and star watch at night. Nearby are hiking, horseback riding, historical sites, fishing, antiques, wineries, shooting, and more. We are located in a rural area and have many different domesticated and wild animals so you may hear diverse animal noises and see or smell animal poop, although we try to keep things clean and tidy. Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.
