Hi there. Here is a little rundown of everything we do at the mill….
So, as far as camping, there are two main options on either side of the river; the mill yard or primitive camping across the river. In the mill yard, we do festival style camping, meaning that there are no individual campsites per se, but rather a large grassy lawn near the mill and bathhouse with shared fire pits, picnic tables, charcoal grill, and sinks for water/dishes. We also have two platforms up in the woods that are good for a little more privacy and are completely shaded, but do require a small climb up the hill. The bathhouse has three restrooms and hot showers in each.
Across the river, there are several more primitive sites that are generally very private and offer great sounds coming from the river and waterfall, but no facilities. Most sites are car accessible, and a 5 minute walk back over to the mill (or a 1 minute drive). Lastly, our newest camping spot on the primitive side is a river front beach right by the dam with space for a several medium sized tents and a private fire pit. The beach is hike-in only (2-3 minutes along a mostly flat trail).
Our normal rate is $10 per person per night. Firewood is available for per wheelbarrow load. We accept cash, credit card, Venmo, Paypal, and crypto. We are also fairly flexible on check in/check out times, but just let us know if you’ll be arriving at odd hours. Dogs are generally welcome as long as they are kept on leash.
Here is a little rundown of tubing at the mill (May-October, weather permitting). We have two tubing options available. We have a short Fun Run that takes roughly 45 minutes, and cost $10 per person for as many rides as you’d like. The river bends sharply like a horseshoe in this section, so it makes everything accessible by foot traffic. It’s a 3 minute walk up the trail to the dam, put in and float 30-45 minutes (depending on water level), then a 5-10 minute walk back to the mill carrying your tube. There is also the longer Forks Run, which last 3-4 hours (~2.5 river miles), and costs $15. For this, we shuttle you up the river in a vehicle, and you float back to the top of the dam, then 3 minutes walking back to the mill. Most weekends, tubing starts at 11 am and the last Forks Shuttle is around 3 pm, with the Fun Run staying open till around 5. Also, with enough heads up, we can sometimes arrange for trips during the week.
Our tubes are required for each person floating for insurance and liability reasons, but you are welcome to bring your own cooler tubes to carry drinks and snacks. Technically, alcohol is not permitted on the river, but what is in your cooler is your business. Either way, please bring ALL trash out with you! Water shoes are recommended, and we have life jackets on request. Most of our tubes come with bottoms and back rests, but a few are open to the water. Most weekends, reservations are not required, but it does help tremendously if we know when you want to come and how many in your group.

William Cornelius Vineyard is a 50-acre private working vineyard and farm that includes 6 acres of Vineyard, 15 acres of corn/soybean fields, and 15 acres of forest. Two vintage tobacco barns add rustic charm to the site. A lovely stream flows down cascading rock shelves along one side of the property, and a small pond is located on the other side. You will have the farm to yourself.
There is only one RV site on the property and no other residents, except for the deer and occasional turkey, racoon, squirrels, and birds. From your RV and site you will have an unobstructed view over the vineyard of the sunset and western range of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Vineyard includes Viognier, Merlot, and Chambourcin grapes. Stony Knoll Winery nearby manages the vineyard and uses the grapes in production of their award-winning varietals. The Viognier won the 2023 Best of Show and Double Gold for the NC Fine Wines Show. Stony Knoll’s Rose, made from our Chambourcin, won the 2022 NC Best Rose.
There are three wineries within a couple of miles, and 20 more wineries within a 30-minute drive. There are 3 must-see / hike state parks within a 40 minute drive: Pilot Mountain, Hanging Rock, and Stone Mountain. The charming town of Mt. Airy (Mayberry RFD from the Andy Griffith Show) and Elkin are within a 20 minute drive. The Yadkin River is only a few miles to the south at the quaint village of Rockford, and is popular for kayaking/tubing, fishing, and swimming. There is a tubing/kayak outfitter located there, along with an old general store with old-time candies, sodas, and a simple grill.

We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too!
Our STORE offers firewood, meats, eggs, Tallow, lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE!
Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Free parking for additional vehicles is located at the office/store.
Looking for a camping experience with a little luxury to boot? Look no further than our Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms! You can drive right up to most sites, weather permitting. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean well water (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our stocked pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 160 acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣

Christine's easygoing nature made using their property so pleasant! We were paddling and camping on the Yadkin River State Trail. We scheduled ahead and loved having a campsite that wasn't next to a road, had a shower and a portalet. We had a wonderful trip again this year. The rain caused us to stay at a different site than usual. We chose when we arrived and enjoyed Site 5. This was our 3rd time camping at Harmon Creek Farms, and I sincerely hope it won’t be our last. Our son met us for dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday and enjoyed exploring the creek for a bit before heading home. This is a wonderful place to stay, and you couldn’t ask for nicer hosts. We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was peaceful, secluded, clean, cozy, and surprisingly roomy. It had everything needed for a couple’s stay, and we comfortably made it work with three kids and our dog by bringing a few extra items. The kids loved exploring the property, and the sunrise behind the cabin (to the right) made for the perfect morning coffee view.
The only thing to note is the driveway, just as the listing mentions. It’s a steep, pebble-covered hill, so a 4WD vehicle is definitely recommended. Our Tahoe in 4WD had no issues at all, while our Prius needed a little momentum to make it up.
If you’re looking to unplug, enjoy nature, and relax around a campfire, this place is a wonderful getaway. We’d definitely stay here again!

This is the kind of site that you find, and don't want to leave. You have to work a lil bit to get to it but when you stumble into that perfection, it's so worth it. The campsite itself is huge ( on a bit of a slope but nothing too bad), we had 2 tents, a popup screen shelter and a bathroom tent with room for another tent or two if we wanted. No power or water hookup, no wifi or cell signal...like I said, absolute perfection. The lush forest, the hills and the sounds of flowing water and nature surrounds you and there are old mill works, meadows and trails for days to explore. There is a very nice bathhouse on the mill side but it's quite a hike so I suggest bringing your own setup.

I happened to have several questions, several times and every time, the response was literally always within 5 to 10 minutes max. Everything was perfectly explained each instance and they were very understanding about our last minute questions and cancellations. We will be rebooking immediately!

Nice property with creek, fire pit, and picnic tables. We never met Cheryl but we did meet her husband who showed us around the property and farm. They have a small store with meat, jams, honey, and other supplies. We bought sausage and chicken which were very good! They also have firewood and water/Gatorade.
All in all, great stay, easy access with our 19 ft van and really peaceful secluded area.

This is my 4th year in a row coming here and I am never disappointed. This time was different. Because of the heat and smoke, we were the only ones at the campground so it was oddly quiet though I felt safe and comfortable still. The river was low, so it was a new opportunity to hike in the water rather than just fish or swim. I still recommend this as the best place in the pilot mountain area.
