Our stay was amazing. Came in for just one night for a concert we have been looking forward to. Elizabeth was fantastic and communicated well. Her place was tucked off the beaten path but so perfect. Cozy tent and a comfy bed. A perfect spot for self reflection. I really enjoyed the solar shower. Be sure to wait until midday or later so that you have warm water to use.

We had a lovely experience at the Babbling Brook Treehouse! We went with our two children, who loved playing hide-and-seek and walking across the slackline. We even met the animals and got a chance to milk a goat! Elizabeth is a GEM—such a kind and welcoming host. I expect that we will return again, and I would recommend it!

I had a fantastic time at Dawn's yurt this weekend. The directions were clear, drive-in was nice, the property was open and peaceful and quiet, surrounded by vineyards. The yurt was super well stocked, even the restroom--which was way nicer than I was expecting for this little getaway! I had a great night sleep & recharge and watched the sun come up in the morning while the birds were singing. :) Thank you!!

My goodness, we found a gem! Elizabeth and Mark (and of course their doggo Seth who is on the welcoming committee!) were also gems - very kind, accommodating, sincere, and thoughtful! The sound of the brook was so lovely, the privacy was perfect, the setup was a perfect balance of woodsy and convenient, the price was so good, all of the solar lighting and cute signs everywhere were so inviting, and all of the amenities provided (chairs, hammocks, cookware, etc) made packing so much less stressful which is exactly what you want for a mini vacation! We really were just looking for a serene place to camp and this was exactly that. The location was perfect as we went there to mountain bike at Warrior Creek. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it! :)

Our stay at Jeanene’s Hipcamp was nothing short of amazing! We were able to truly connect with nature, enjoy a beautiful hike, and take time to recharge our souls. One of the highlights was hanging out with Sila, the sweetest dog who made our experience even more special. We’ve traveled to many places, including Colorado, but this spot has a unique charm that sets it apart. The peaceful surroundings and thoughtful touches made it a perfect getaway. Was a good experience. The road to the A-frame is extremely easy to find. Is a nice little set up. Propane is provided for the stove (bring a lighter, the one provided did not work), water is provided in a copper dispenser, lanterns are charged up, firewood was a nice addition, and the outhouse is the nicest one I have ever used (the wood chips keep the smell to a minimum). The hosts also ensure you understand the directions and message you ahead of time. There is 1 bar of service at the parking area. Overall 10/10 experience, would definitely recommend, just pull the trigger you won’t regret it, wish I got to spend more than one night.

Babbling Brook Campground

Before the Kerr Scott Reservoir was built, in the 40's and 50's, this neighborhood was a local swimming hole and vacation area. Public buses came from neighboring communities so people could boat, swim, camp, and picnic. While we don't have access to the pond, our part of this land still is calling out to people, 'Come, rest, unload your burdens, and find peace.' When we started this project with Hipcamp, we didn't fully realize that we were reconnecting with the history on this property. So, come, take your shoes off, and wade in the creek. Read a book while laying in a hammock. Sit by the fire and chat with family and friends. Come and participate in our little homesteading project, and leave your burdens behind. LOCAL ACTIVITIES: To the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is 30 minutes away. 15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, as well as other sporting equipment. Fish, go mountain biking on the extensive trails, and hiking. Prayer Mountain is right up the road, about 2 miles away. Heading east, you can find several fine wineries andvineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town. About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public. To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. Nearby, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can go and find, and keep, precious stones you find in the nearby river. There is also a great disk course course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country. There is fun for all ages. Merlefest, the last weekend of April, is a world class Bluegrass festival, is located right in our town. Be sure to look at the activities section below for additional information.

About the Listings: Creek View Cabin: The cabin has a cozy bed that sits in the lofted space (you will need to climb up a set of ladder steps to reach the bed), and a couch option on the ground level for sleeping accommodations. There is a unique cabin shower, a composting toilet, well and tap water available for campers, a wonderful Solo stove for you to build a fire and to cozy up near, and a picnic table for enjoying a bite to eat! A deck sits right outside the cabin that overlooks the creek, and will be private for you during your stay. We welcome your pets, just please ensure they are on a leash since there are other farm animals on the property. While the cabin is the only one on our property, and somewhat private, you may see the Hosts in passing on the farm. Additional Details to Note: - Check in is after 4pm and check out by 10am - You can stay connected if you'd like to, as cell reception is available on our property. The cabin does not have wifi.
