Weekend Trip to Longbottom Leaves

Emma and Johnathan were so kind and welcoming they offered me coffee, allowed me to explore their garden and listen to the frog song by the pond. Their place is truly magical. The cabin was the perfect place to rest, reflect, meditate and write a little. Truly restorative. It was just what my spirit needed. I hope to stay again.

We loved our time at Darin & Beth’s tiny Cabin in the woods.The cabin and the bathroom facilities were exceptionally clean.The Cabin is surrounded by nothing but lovely forest with no neighbors in sight.There is a short loop trail with a beautiful little creek that our dog enjoyed.Wildlife is abundant and can be seen and heard.The directions are easy to follow and we had no issues getting inside the cabin.Highly recommend.Very friendly hosts as well.

We stayed in the cabin. It was wonderful having such privacy with it nestled in the woods. Everything was clean and well maintained. They suppled firewood in crates for us to use in the fire pit! It was fun showering under the stars. Luckily, when we were there, it was warm during the day and cool at night so the evening shower water was warmed up by the sun. The bed was very comfortable, and Darin and Beth were kind and very responsive to any of our needs and questions. The location is close to Mt. Airy, Pilot Mountain, and Hanging Rock State Park. All three of which we visited. We plan to visit again soon.

This was a nice site and I loved it here it was right off the road but it was still private and it was perfect having river right there and there was no one there when I stayed which made it even better. There’s a cute cabin if u keep on going past the campsite which was really more private and next time I’m I area I’ll get the cabin instead. There’s only issues I had were the directions to the place . There’s no signal once you get off the main rd so maps kept rerouting me and there’s no directions directly on hip camp so I had to turn around several time I finally found it . Either way great spot to stay

Our stay at Jeanene’s Hipcamp was nothing short of amazing! We were able to truly connect with nature, enjoy a beautiful hike, and take time to recharge our souls. One of the highlights was hanging out with Sila, the sweetest dog who made our experience even more special. We’ve traveled to many places, including Colorado, but this spot has a unique charm that sets it apart. The peaceful surroundings and thoughtful touches made it a perfect getaway. Darin and Beth have been great hosting us at their beautiful property. This past weekend there was a countywide fire ban and temps dropped into the 20s overnight Darin was kind to upgrade us from a tent site to the cabin and even brought us a portable heater for the evening. The property is also a quick 10 minute trip into town - the musical and artistic Floyd, VA - where you can find a grocery store and some restaurants as well. About the Listings: Creek View Cabin: The cabin has a cozy bed that sits in the lofted space (you will need to climb up a set of ladder steps to reach the bed), and a couch option on the ground level for sleeping accommodations. There is a unique cabin shower, a composting toilet, well and tap water available for campers, a wonderful Solo stove for you to build a fire and to cozy up near, and a picnic table for enjoying a bite to eat! We have two creeks, a (swimming) pond, an off-grid house, a cob pizza oven, a fruit-and-nut orchard, a huge vegetable garden, and over three acres of forest with walking trails through them. We are only 4 miles from Stone Mountain State Park in North Carolina. Hiking and fishing are fantastic in both Doughton Park and Stone Mountain SP, and Stone Mountain also has rock climbing routes. In addition, we are less than a 30-minute drive from about a dozen or so vineyards. Elkin NC is about 40 minutes east, Wilkesboro NC is about 40 minutes south, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is 20 minutes away. We--Emma and Jonathon--live in an off-grid cabin on the property. We both garden and write (travel- and sustainability-type stuff), and we are happy to share info about the property and stuff to do around the area.
