This sweet 4 acre property lies on a gorgous s-turn of Reems Creek, 1 mile from downtown Weaverville. There is a porta-potty provided, a hose attached to our house, and a hot water outdoor shower that campers are welcome to. We have 3 large, friendly dogs who you will definitely meet. So, dog lovers only. Reems creek is known for its great trout fishing so bring a fishing license and your poles! The water is pristine and great for swimming as well. Fire ring, chairs and table, corn hole, disc golf, charcoal grill, and hammocks provided.
We also have a honeybee apiary on the other side of the 4 acres from the campsites. This home was built in 2019 by an expert craftsman with the vision of making it cozy and spacious with sweet artistic details and lots of care and love. The home is 300 sq feet but feels much more grand inside. You will be nestled on 14 pristine acres of forest, with two decks, your own personal private hot tub, and a spring fed creek not too far down the driveway. There is a gas fireplace outdoors on the porch, and an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The house has a queen size bed in the upper loft, a large twin day bed on the first level, and an extra loft with camping mats if needed above the day bed. The house can comfortably sleep 3 and up to 4 or 5 especially if a couple of them are children or petite people. The house has a full kitchen and bathroom, living room area and two lofts. For now there is a composting toilet that is easy to maintain and we are happy to help you with it if you’re on the land for more than a few days. The main house is about 30 yards up the hill, and although somewhat close, you will have plenty of privacy. We are close if you need us, but we try to give all of our guests ultimate privacy. The house is under a huge magnolia tree, so it stays shaded in the summer and quite cool. There is an AC unit and heaters in the house as well.
There is a personal hot tub, which is screened in, and located on the front deck of the house now. You will love it! There is a back deck that is only for meditation, yoga, and bird watching, and we ask that folks stay silent on the back deck if they use it.
Pets are welcome at an extra charge of $40 a night.
If anything is needed down at the house we are available. Much of the time there is a massage therapist on site, so if you are interested in getting Bodywork please just inquire about prices and availability. There is also a wood-fired sauna on the property, so if you would like to sauna please let us know.
And an added bonus is that you are only 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and LOTS of great hiking, great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, art galleries and more. Asheville is 15 minutes from the tiny cabin and Weaverville is 10 minutes away.
On any given day you might see a family a deer, turkeys or bears in the front yard. There is a spring fed creek on the edge of the property you are welcome to soak your feet in, and there is incredible hiking just a few miles away. You are welcome to explore the 13 acres of property as well that the home is located on.
This is not a place for parties. Our neighbors are about 200 yards down the hill so we try to respect their privacy and keep it quiet. That is why we have made the back deck a retreat/silent deck. Maximum of 4 guests.

My wife and I moved to the area, from Boone, in the spring of 2014.
Our dream was to own a house, preferably a cabin, on top of a mountain with long range views and a gradual winding road to the top.
Living in Boone, this dream was definitely out of reach.
When we began our search for a new home in the Asheville area, we discovered that the more affordable homes were in fact on the mountains.
Perfect!
In general I always have a pretty positive outlook on what’s possible, however, I was skeptical that we would ever find our dream home.
As Jeannie began her Zillow browsing adventures, one particular cabin with acreage,
that was outside of our budget continued to pop up.
Jeannie would delete it and then it would come back.
At some point the price began to drop, and drop, and drop.
On our way back into town one weekend after attending a wedding, I convinced Jeannie to drive by the cabin
just because we had the time.
Immediately we fell in love and reached out to our realtor buddy.
It was more of a shot in the dark but it couldn’t hurt, right?
We held our breath for the next month totally expecting someone to get it under contract before us or the sellers not accepting our offer.
It had already been reduced significantly so we knew our chances of a lowball offer were slim.
We offered the most that we could get a loan for.
They accepted!
I still get anxious thinking back to that month, October 2014.
Many years and two children later, here we are, just as excited everyday to make the long trek up our mountain as we were that August of 2014, and now we are happy to offer a similar experience to you, without having to buy the place.

Pitch your tent in the grass on the tip top of the mountain or park your camper in the flat gravel spot with a fire pit just below the top with beautiful views overlooking Cane Creek. In the fall and winter enjoy 360 degree views and in the summer enjoy the shade and cool breeze while relaxing & snacking on wild wine berries and black raspberries. What you will not find is light pollution, traffic, and a desire to leave the mountain. Fall asleep to the calls of the hoot owl and wake up to the knocking of the wood pecker.
If & when you decide to explore the area, be sure to checkout Hickory Nut Gap farm just 7.9 miles away & Whistle Hop Brewery 7.7 miles away. Turgua brewery just down on Cane Creek road is only 6.2 miles from camp. Cane Creek Valley Farm as well as the Cane Creek Community swimming pool is also at the base of camp just in case the kids need a dip of ice cream or a dip in the pool. Justus Apple Orchard is only 10 miles down the mountain towards Hendersonville. We love taking our kids there.
We are only 15 miles from downtown Asheville & Hendersonville, and 22 miles from Lake Lure. The site backs up to over 100 acres of forest for a truly wilderness feel just outside of town.

This is a DRY SITE. Your camping vehicle must be able to hold both sewage and gray water. The site borders a North Carolina trout stream. We reserve the right to cancel if you do not comply. The campsite is about 1.25 acres and part of a larger property. We set up a travel trailer here while we built our home. Recently one of our neighbors, who does quite a bit of camping, set up their travel trailer in the same spot while their home was being painted. Please be aware we are not completely cleared up after Hurricane Helene so we are limiting cars to 2 per site. There is parking about a mile away, or we can fit a 2 cars per site . If this is an issue please contact me to discuss. Also note we look a little different. The campsites are fine but the creek has changed its banks and the driving path moved a little. Please drive slowly on driveway and grounds.
Drones are only allowed on our property and only in daylight hours and must be discussed with us prior.
Our farm is Organic and we minimize the amount of chemicals used on it out of respect to the land. The creek has clean water, although we provide well water for the humans.
Situated 20 minutes from Asheville and 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, we are close to civilization and far from the everyday hustle and bustle.
This is a great place to unwind in nature. We will soon be adding Forest Bathing.
The frogs eat most of the mosquitos and the fireflies will provide the nightly entertainment from May till August.

Camping here by the creek was the exact respite I didn't even know I needed. While here, I spent the day in silence watching the creek go by and witnessed many wonderful wild beings, including a family of newborn ducks with their mama, a wood turtle, owls, a box turtle, many adorable squirrels, and of course the bees. I did a session in the healing apiary house and really enjoyed it. I left feeling uplifted and clear. There were also many fascinating plants growing along the creek including Solomon's seal, box elder, walnut, and tulip poplar trees, boneset, Cardinal flower and many more, I could go on.
While I usually go for campsites that are more excluded, this site was actually really nice because of the hot water to shower and a place to use the bathroom, which made it easier for me to rest and recover in between long travel days. Even though the house was behind my setup, I didn't even mind because it was so quiet, and the creek drew me in. This site would be absolutely perfect for those who are new to camping and not wanting to be so excluded, but also great for those who, like me, are traveling and need a delightful place to rest.
The hosts Mary and Dan were very kind and invited me to come back anytime! I definitely will.

I’ve camped at Ruby’s Ranch twice now and each time has been wonderful. Campsite #1 has great access to the river and the perfect amount of space for a canopy, a large tent, and a fire pit. The river is lovely and there is even a deeper swimming spot under the bridge down the river. I’ll definitely be camping here again and I highly recommend it.

We are pretty experienced campers and we loved this campsite! It will be one we will return to again and again. The site we chose was upper Meadows 1.. It was very private, had a path down to the river, and we had no trouble catching trout while we were there. The kids had a blast playing in the field and exploring the woods around the campsite. I can't recommend the spot enough.

It can be tricky to get a good downhill run to the dump station, depending on where you park. If you watch the side of the hill late at night, you might see some blue fireflies down low.

We loved camping on Nate’s land! It was spacious, clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. The additional add on amenities were great. We added the hot tub, outdoor kitchen, and the WiFi. Super fun to have the access to the outdoor area. Close proximity to town and about 20 min to everything. We would definitely visit this site again!

Absolutely stunning building. It smells so good. Like fresh cedar. It had everything we needed to cook and then some. Honestly best shower of my life. You can’t even tell you’re on a deck. The loft beds are not for the claustrophobic or very large bodies, but they provide a blow up queen size mattress as an alternative. I’m unsure of its quality. The ladder is also quite tricky. I just wish they thought of accessibility a bit more in the loft designs. Other than that this place is a dream! Can’t wait to return someday.
