Cool spot, but needs a little love. We arrived close to sundown and had a very hard time identifying our campsite as all of the signs were completely overgrown. The reference photos/ directions must’ve been outdated because there was no porter potty, which the directions reference as landmark to know where to go. We ended up accidentally taking the wrong site because it was the only place we could find to put our tent. Other than that, the creek was beautiful and the rushing water was lovely to fall asleep to. The sites just need some TLC and a good weed whacking.

Such a quiet hidden gem at Ruby Ranch! If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to lay your tent this is it! With a great mountain and creek view, and nice fluffy grass to lay to your tent. We fell asleep to the sounds of the creek and fields of fireflies all around us. As a bonus its location is only a short drive from our favorite spots on the parkway. It is primitive, no bathroom or potable water, so keep that in mind. Would definitely recommend Ruby Ranch as an ideal camping spot!

Very nice spot next to a fun area right on the river bank.
We had a great time.
The listing was not 100% correct however. There was no port-a-john.
Quite and comfortable though.

I had a wonderful time tent camping at Ruby Ranch. I saw 2 out of 3 of the sites, both were pretty spacious and had trees for hammocks and easy access to the creek. You can pull your car right up to the sites to unload. The location is nearby to plenty of restaurants and hiking trails. I will be coming back again my next visit. My only complaints are the slight smell of horse manure, but it was not overbearing, and a lightly trafficked road right across the creek. For the price point and location, it is very easy to overlook the nit picky details! All around 10/10

We really appreciated the stay on short notice. It's a private site, right along the creek with the sweet sound of moving water. They are understandably cleaning up fallen trees and branches from the hurricane and working on getting signage back up. Wish them all the best in the recovery.

Easy to get to and very easy instructions. The creek was a great background noise to go to sleep to. Laura was very prompt with communication and the place was beautiful. They had experienced some flooding from Helene and the site wasn't like in the pictures but it was to be expected. I still was able to enjoy the peace outside of the city. Highly recommend.

I surprised my husband with a birthday camping trip and the owners of Ruby Ranch are absolute super hosts ! The great rate and the hospitality I simply cannot say enough about! My husband works for the railroad as a conductor and his train was delayed getting back. But they were awesome at accommodating our later than normal check in. The campsites are very enjoyable and the river was so peaceful. It was our 2 young boys first camping experience and it was just perfect. There was plenty of room for them to play and run and plenty of privacy for each guest. There were other campers our first night. But the rest of the weekend was all to ourselves. The local area is beautiful and the people there are so friendly and welcoming. Our family will definitely be back! We recommend this amazing site to any of our friends and family, and definitely recommend it to anyone one looking for an alternative to big campgrounds. The sounds of the farm and it’s happy animals and the lull of the river by a cozy campfire are enough to sooth the soul and bring peace to the heart in this modern fast paced world we live in. This piece of paradise is worth all the praise and the price.
Big thank you to the Ruby Ranch for their part in making my husband’s birthday getaway so memorable !
