Stoney Creek Oasis Campground

The site itself was beautiful. We had a great view of the mountains and the creek right next to us. It was easy to get to everything we wanted to do as well. The downsides – I’m not sure how often the owner walks the grounds and checks things out after people leave. There were two piles of feces at our campsite that we noticed as soon as we pulled up. If you have dogs, this may not be the spot for you, as the owner seems to let his dogs roam the property. The spot can also be quite loud during the day, as it is right next to the road. There were also some super loud explosions right next to the site the weekend we were there. Not sure what that was about. Overall, it got the job done and we had a nice weekend despite these things.

Overall a great campsite. The directions to get there were very clear, and falling asleep to the sound of the creek was so nice. My only downside is that the numbers were supposed to be on the picnic tables for each site, but almost all the picnic tables were gone. I think someone else was in my site, but as I was staying one night, I didn’t mind not having a picnic table or fire pit. I wish sites were labeled some other way

Nice stay. Being next to the creek is really nice. Didn't feel too crowded by neighbors, but they were pretty close. Mountain views were great. Would stay again.

Overall a good experience, laid back owners, maintained space. They did have one dog who was not very friendly, but they had a few others who were very nice. The creek was beautiful and the views were great, thought it was pretty close to the road and we could hear neighbors playing music and working. It was easy to get to town and had WiFi, if you’re looking for something remote and peaceful this isn’t your spot, but if you want a safe place to come back to after a day of hiking this will do!

Nice area, the campsite was very pleasant and the sound of the creek was very nice to have as well. Ashley was very welcoming and a joy to talk with. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing stay here for 10 days. Right on the river and secluded but close to many trails and city's. Ashley made sure everything was alright and his dogs are a wonderful perk of the site. Will recommend and come back!

A true oasis

This place is amazing, it is the perfect place to get away from the worries and stress of the world and connect with the simple beauty of nature. The sounds of the creek and the light coming through the trees will recharge your spirit, while sleeping under the starry sky will bring a since of peace to your mind. It is simple but not primitive, there is a bathroom, shower and even a laundry machine to help feel fresh as you unwind in the sunshine.

Very nice setting in the valley. Ashley was very nice and only there if we needed him. Access to surrounding areas was good, but being away from the hustle and bustle was nice.

#18 Across The Creek@ Stoney Creek

First time here and the flowing creek will have me coming back. It's so peaceful next to the water. The mountain views are a beautiful thing to walk out to each morning. It is primitive but does include a good size fire pit and pinic table. Oh and the shower is definitely hot!! It's not your normal campground but it's still just as good!!

It was my first time solo camping. #18 is across the creek but Ashley let me stay at a different spot since the bridge was washed out. Great spot for a night or more, close to Asheville. I would definitely go back. Very friendly people.

I had a great stay at Creekside camp spot very responsive and helpful. Location is very peaceful and beautiful. Located down the road from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Definitely recommend and would stay here again.

The site was really nice. Right on the creek was awesome. The neighbors were blaring music almost all day, they cut it off around 9pm but were right back at it in the morning. The camp was very close to a road but didnt bother us much. The reason I cant recommend is because it felt like we were sleeping in the middle of a dog park. I dont feel comfortable with dogs I dont know running up to me growling and barking. Also coming and peeing on our tent and pooping next to it. If you are okay with dogs you will be fine.

Campsites level but closer than we expected. Dog park type atmosphere with several running around. Seems to have a few monthly renters. Restrooms were very creative and clean.

First time visiting Asheville, and we both agreed that this was the best place to stay at. Very satisfied with our stay on Ashley’s land. Loved our spot right by the creek. Had a fire every night. Kevin even asked if we ran out or needed any fire wood to ask him. They’re so helpful there! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Dogs were so enjoyable and the views were immaculate. Such a convenient location very close to blue ridge parkway and 20-30 minutes from Downtown Asheville. Bathrooms were clean also. We were very happy with our stay and will be back if we visit again! Thank you!!!

We loved camping out here for the weekend! Great 360 views of the mountains, fishing in the creek, 20 mins from downtown and amazing hikes super close. Dogs running around but we didn’t mind, they were all super friendly and adorable. Heated bathroom and shower was great. Helpful and nice neighbors. Would definitely come back!
