The cabin is set at the edge of the woods behind our home, an 1810 white farmhouse.
There are 4 goats whose pasture comes right near the firepit area, and 5 cows in the lower pasture near the mud creek.
A train track cuts through our property, so it it customary to hear the train whistle (4 blasts each time it crosses the road nearby) during the daytime and 2 times during the night.

Amazing location with panoramic views of the Vermont Green Mountain range, this property adjoins a public 9 hole golf course. Located on over 260 private and secluded acres, property also has a 2 acre pond for swimming, paddling or just relaxing.
There are several miles of maintained hiking trails meandering throughout the forest, ranging from an easy walk, to hilly and somewhat challenging. Many varieties of tent locations or places to park an RV, pop up, or car. This is considered a "Primitive camp site". There is no shower, toilet or electric available at this time, but well water can be had from our residence, via a hose spigot on the side of our home. This is our 3rd year of hosting, and due to the overwhelming popularity of having an abundance of privacy, we will continue to be only hosting one party at a time. Which means you'll get the privilege of not having to share your surroundings with anyone else! Your own private camp ground! We are hoping this all works out and intend to continuously improve amenities, activities and overall experience. We are hoping to provide an exceptional value and experience that will bring back repeat campers, that we can trust and build a rapport. We are looking forward to meeting you!
There will be a picnic table, two Adirondack chairs, and a firepit on site, for your convenience.
Firewood will be available on site as well, for additional fee.
Please note, regarding directions to the site: Some maps, directions show our address as the town of Whitehall NY. This is also correct, as we are apparently on the border of the two towns and depending on the map, it can come up as Hampton, or Whitehall. As far as I know, it's the town of Hampton, but just in case...

This was built as a personal vacation retreat and we gladly share it now with adventurers and romantics! 40 Private Acres - Fire-pits, comfortable outdoor furniture, and plenty of room to roam will make this unique stay memorable, relaxing, with absolute privacy with stunning views.
The bespoke wooden Tower boasts 360 degree views of the surroundings. It is built on piers and has windows on the perimeter. A large table, outdoor chairs on the 2nd Level platform is an ideal space for gathering or picnicking. The 3rd enclosed level is furnished with a built in brand new queen bed and long custom built-in couch with a bar table and 4 chairs. Small fridge and Fan on site. No Bathroom in Tower.
The Cabin is fully equipped, applianced, and is furnished with a Full Bed in the Loft, 2 Twins in a Trundle Daybed, and a Cot and Blow Up are available. Full Kitchen, Shower, Toilet in the Bathroom. The 40 Acres are Pastured and Open but Wooded all around in every direction. There are no cut trails at the Retreat and as it is thickly wooded, we encourage our guests to come visit us at Slateville Farm where we have over 8 miles of our own trails, swimming holes, and our ever flowing cold spring. Enjoy any of the many national park trails within the Green Mountains or Adirondacks. Lake George, Merck Forest, Schroon Lake, Lake St. Catherine, Bomoseen are all nearby as well as the Battenkill River and the Mettowee for fishing. If you are a winter visitor, plenty of ski resorts are a little over an hour away like Stratton, Bromely, Okemo, or Killington to name a few.
Come by and visit us down the road at Slateville Farm to enjoy our fresh produce/eggs, over 8 miles of private hiking trails, and numerous swimming holes. Firewood is included and stocked at the Pit outside the Cabin.

We tent camped for 5 nights and it was absolutely perfect. So much space to set up (we don't pack light) and still have plenty of room. We loved that it was a solo site and had the area to ourselves. We have two Border Collies who just had the best time. They would not have been happy at a traditional campground where they have to be leashed so I'm so happy to have found this site to allow them to be off leash. Seeing them so happy was one of the highlights. Highly, highly recommend and could not have been happier with our stay. Already planning on another trip next year for sure!!

We had a wonderful camping trip at Site 1. The riverside views were beautiful, and the site felt private, spacious, and comfortably cool thanks to the shade—especially appreciated during the summer. There was plenty of room for our car and tents, making it a great setup for our family and dogs.
Jim was a friendly, helpful host, and we especially appreciated how clean and well kept the bathroom and shower were. The river access was a little adventurous, which made it extra fun for our kids and dogs, and there are great kayaking opportunities nearby.
The bathroom and shower are located at another site. They are not far away, but having direct access from Site 1 would have made an already excellent stay even more convenient. Overall, a beautiful spot that we’d happily visit again.

We had an outstanding weekend staying at Heather’s awesome farm! We reserved the Hops site but changed to the Quarry site after arriving and seeing the other sites with Heather. I don’t think there’s a bad site on the property but The Quarry was excellent! It took some work but I was able to turn our 28 ft travel trailer around to leave without any real issue. The road to the site is gravel with two steep hills so if you have a sizable rig, you want a powerful truck and possibly 4wd. The quarry itself is incredible - tons of bright orange koi fish happy to eat the food provided on the dock, beautiful, refreshing water, tubes and kayaks provided, and a perfect “cliff” to jump from (maybe 15 ft?). Heather and her husband provide firewood at each site and definitely visit their store for some homemade goods. Exceptional hosts - friendly and happy to share their land and knowledge for us to enjoy as they do. A place and trip to take you back to camping trips of the 1980s when everyone was a friend and campers took care of each other.

My daughter had an amazing time and really enjoyed being surrounded by nature. We felt comfortable and relaxed throughout our stay. We would definitely love to come back again! Coy Mountain Camp… left us speechless. It was incredibly peaceful, and the campsite itself almost felt otherwordly. The outhouse belongs to an art gallery imo. The sun shower was THE ABSOLUTE BEST. We had clear dark nights, and the Milky Way was visible to the naked eye. Amazing star show too. It was the perfect summer weekend in Vermont. We had so much fun hanging out with Charlie!!

The grounds are very nice, with the tent sites near a bubbling brook. If available, sites 10 or 11 are the closest to the creek and the most woodsy. We were in 14, kindly recommended since it had the most open view of the sky and we wanted to stargaze, but it was also closest to the road - and thus VERY loud with construction machinery early in the morning.

We had a great time at Coy Mountain Camp! Tim and Kathleen put a lot of care into the campground. It was stacked with plenty of firewood, a hammock, food prep station and cooler. We didn’t try the solar shower but it was great to have the option.
The bathroom/outhouse was a pleasant surprise, it was in great condition. Loved seeing the goats and chickens as we entered and exited the property!
Overall we had a very peaceful experience with much needed time away from NYC. Would
recommend x10 and hope to visit again.
