The cabin is set at the edge of the woods behind our home, an 1810 white farmhouse. There are 4 goats whose pasture comes right near the firepit area, and 5 cows in the lower pasture near the mud creek. A train track cuts through our property, so it it customary to hear the train whistle (4 blasts each time it crosses the road nearby) during the daytime and 2 times during the night.

As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war.  It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well.  All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time.  During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings.  There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest.  Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since.  Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

Weekend Trip to BlueberryHill Field Camp

My fourth time at the best Hipcamp in Vermont. This is the quintessential camping plus comfort. It is a comfortable bed, no bugs. In a shed, no power. With a fire pit, a huge sky, blueberries and moose around, screaming wifi and clean bathrooms and delightful outdoor showers. The Green Mountains have so much to offer and a safe and warm and comfortable place to call home is all you need.

5 nights at Camp TedRock Adirondack Retreat

Ted's A frame site was the perfect stay for us. We had the best time relaxing and recharging out in the woods there. Ted has done an outstanding job making his property inviting and comfortable while allowing you to be totally off grid and remote. The A-Frame was clean and spacious and right next to the hangout area of the campsite with an outhouse close by! The use of his all-terrain cart was invaluable to be able to take food back to the car at night, as there is a short walk on trails to the site. Next time we'll pack a "daily meal" cooler to make this easier for ourselves instead of hauling the main one back and forth! When we arrived the site was prepped with our breakfast cooler add-on with fresh eggs, bacon, local syrup, and more! The firepit had a nice pre-built starter fire ready to light. Multiple lanterns in the cabin made our headlamps optional in the best way. We were the only ones there during the week and enjoyed the complete silence of the forest around us of his property. Despite that, we were still close enough to Lake George for a hike to the Pinnacle and anything we needed. Close by we were able to go kayaking on Garnet Lake (shout out to Ted for the recommendation!) and do some Loon watching. Overall a wonderful stay and this will absolutely be a place we come back to in the future. Ted clearly cares about his guests experience and puts love and effort into these sites.

loved my time at the coop :) Andrea and her kiddos were very welcoming & helpful. gave me a rundown of utilities & tour of the space upon arrival! spotted two cutie outdoor cats who were so sweet. property is so beautiful, i couldn’t stay overnight because of a little emergency unfortunately. Andrea was super kind to refund me 50%- I hope to visit soon again!

4 nights at Adirondack Glamping The Black Hole

We had such a great time staying at Sue’s glamp camp! We had 6 people and everyone was comfortable even though it rained twice while we were there. The front tent had plenty of space for everyone to hang out during the storms and Sue brought us dry camp chairs to use. Even though it rained it was NOT muddy at camp, which was amazing because we’ve camped in the rain before and the mud was the worst part. Anything we didn’t have or needed, we asked Sue for and she brought them to us (towels, blankets, floaties for the lake…). Sue kept us fully stocked with a cooler of cold water and a separate cooler of hot water everyday for dishes and whatnot. There were plenty of places to sit and relax, and access to the Black Hole at the bottom of the hill for swimming was really nice. The kitchen was well stocked, but because of the rain we were glad we brought our camp stove with griddle. We like to cook on cast iron and brought our pan, but they do have enamelware cookware stocked. There’s plasticware and disposable bowls for meals, and a big percolator for coffee which was perfect for the 6 of us. Sue was a great host and took such good care of us! We’re really glad we stayed here and would definitely do so again.

Because Camp Tedrock will knock your socks clear off!!! It was absolutely incredible! Peaceful and quiet. Ted was one of the best people I’ve ever rented from. Quick with responses and had so many unexpected pluses to the site. We can’t wait to come back!

5 nights at Camp TedRock Adirondack Retreat

Camp TedRock was exactly what we were looking for! An off the grid experience with some amenities that make it comfortable but still have the primitive camping feel.Ted thought of all the little things that make this happen! Ted met us there and gave us the rundown on where to get supplies if we needed to in Warrensburg, had a great book with information, hiking suggestions, reading material, and games. Since there is no cell service at the site, we have played more games of cards, Yahtzee, and checkers than I think we ever had! It was great to not have a phone! Camp TedRock is a beautiful place to recharge from busy life. I would highly recommend purchasing the breakfast package with local syrup, bacon, eggs, pancake mix, and English muffins. This was delivered in a cooler and has all you need for a great pre-hike breakfast. We hiked the Sleeping Beauty trail, Snow Mountain, and the Rooster Comb. We plan on coming back and start on a couple of the 46ers. This has been one of the most relaxing and memorable trips we have ever had. We will be back!

The Little Red Cabin was the perfect landing pad for a week of Mountain Biking with my son. Caitrin and Hardy are the perfect hosts and the location could not possibly be any better. Love the outdoor showers, the quiet, and easy access to some fantastic riding. This is our third time here and would highly recommend this to anyone.

1 night at Endless Grove

Gnome cabin was a dream! We only had one night, so we chose to stay close to the site. Instantly when we arrived I could feel how special Endless Grove was. The site was so serene. It rained most of our stay, so we opted out of using the boat, but would've been a great bonus! The cabin itself is small, but gorgeous. We loved looking around and taking in the small details and love that went into building it. I felt like I was living my best forest fairy life and It’s places like this that are the reason my hubby and I have such high standards for camping/glamping. We will definitely be back! 💚

Weekend Trip to Oma's Cabin -A Quiet Forest Retreat

This spot was killer! We stayed for one day and two nights. If you love the outdoors you will love this cabin. It's simple living in a busy world. The hike up haystack is quick but challenging enough, due to the grade of the trail to the top. We will be back for sure and hopefully for a few more days!

Weekend Trip to BlueberryHill Field Camp

This was a magical spot for our family of 4. The sites all felt private and spaced from each other, but also felt really nice to also have access to bathrooms and showers across the field :). We found this location via Hipcamp, but there’s also an Inn across the (gravel/quiet) road, which is worth looking into as well! There are trails to hike directly from the property, a nearby state park with a lake for swimming, and a town about 15 minutes away with a grocery store and restaurants if you need them!

We loved staying on Margarete’s land. It is a great piece of property and our kids loved jumping into the pond. We used the site as a jump off point to some hikes in the high peaks. We hope to make it back!

1 night at Lake Lauderdale Campground

We really enjoyed our stay here! While we only stayed for a night, it was evident that it was equipped with everything you would need. We stayed in the small cabin, which was a very short walk from the restrooms, had a great view of the sunset, AND had AC. Finally, we wanted to say a huge thank you to the incredibly kind staff who checked us in upon arrival and made us feel right at home. We will certainly come back someday to try out their tent site options!
