As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war. It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well. All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time. During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings. There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest. Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since. Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

The Mill Creek runs along with this property, which features access to the scenic Dunkley Falls & The Black Hole — a cavernous geological anomaly. This famous swimming spot is a perfect place to test your nerve with a backflip off its 20 ft cliffs or just take a leisurely swim in the naturally formed glacier pool. Like to fish? Just minutes from I-87 and the Lake George Region, our A Frame site offers a 120 square foot authentic A-Frame cabin with an open Adirondack Lean-to approach. This 1-4 person A frame comes with 2 to 4 sleeping cots, 2 hammocks (available) with hanging space inside or out and plenty of space to pitch a tent all around, tent included. Down by the runoff stream (sometimes there is no runoff!) you'll find a fire ring with a cooking grill and outdoor seating. Inside the A frame you're provided a lantern, gas cook stove, kitchen ware, food storage cooler and small table and chairs. 14 gallons of potable water is provided. There is a small corner loo inside the A frame with a flushing RV type toilet for the ladies and also a comfortable Adirondack outhouse with an ecological waste removing system. Although the A frame is UNHEATED, there is a small propane space heater available to take off the chill of a cool Adirondack evening. A 1 lb Propane bottle is provided. Additional Propane is available to purchase. This 5-acre quiet paradise is surrounded by on site walking trails where the only sounds are the owls and an occasional airplane. Off site, guests can enjoy an array of local attractions and activities. Take a steamboat cruise, brave the thrilling rides at The Great Escape, or walk through a thrilling wax museum in Lake George Village. Grab a bite to eat at a Saratoga restaurant or shop along Victoria Broadway. Together, Saratoga Springs and Lake George have everything to make a memorable family vacation.
Water levels in the Hudson River may be lower this year than usual. Perfect time to explore the shores of the river that never get seen, maybe even find some treasures with your metal detector.

Granite Hill Lodge and Campground is a re-invented campground, brought back to life with the purpose of providing a place of quiet and leisure in the busy Lake George area. Only 20 minutes to Lake George beaches, downtown and outlet shopping, Granite Hill is in a great location to enjoy the beautiful Adirondacks while providing a getaway in the foothills of Fort Ann. The newly designed campground provides a small camping feel with plenty of outdoor space to bike and hike. The property is located on the Champlain Canalway Bike Trail and has an established hiking trail and a smaller walking trail to beautiful overlooks, looking over the Adirondack Mountains.
The Campground has 18 sites with a mix of Tent sites, Full Hook up sites (P/W/S) and Power and Water Sites (P/W). Due to multiple reservation systems, we do not have all of our sites listed on Hipcamp. If you are with a group or are in need of another site, send us a message and we will see how we can accommodate.

Weekend Trip to Adirondack Rustic Retreat
A short walk down to the pond and into the pines and you’re suddenly unaware of reality or time…
Truly a beautiful piece of land. Perfect little cabin with such character.
A hot wood stove to keep cozy as the falling snow blanketed the silent forest around us.
Comfy sleeping pads, lights, plenty of wood, delicious water, cookware and other supplies. Outhouse was so clean and honestly adorable lol!!
Truly the peaceful escape I needed. I want to come back and experience what energy every different season offers, I’m sure they each offer magic.

The site is beautiful. Trek to it is tough so UTV rental is recommended. Owners are responsive, accommodating, and kind. We had a great time aside from the bad weather.

A really nice retreat. Really cool to use the indoor fire stove for heat. Lots to do at the site too with the kayaks, outdoor kitchen, tented seating area. Gonna come back next year during the summer!

Camp TedRock is awesome! The site is beautiful, well maintained, and peaceful. There are lots of details that show the care put into the experience, like the extra cot, extra lanterns, a bag of kindling, and hand written notes on nearby mountains and lakes. We would definitely come back!

Just as described- a lovely spot to stay. The port-a-potty was pleasant, the sink with a hose made it easy to keep everything clean and everyone hydrated, and the fire pit and picnic table were fun additions to our afternoons and evenings. jThe spot felt special because of the river's morning fog and evening beaver. I'd recommend staying here and I'd stay here again.

We enjoyed the cozy campsite, with 30 amp service, water and sewer.
Site also has toilets and showers.

Weekend Trip to Riverfront Ritz Campsite
I strongly recommend staying at this beautiful camp site, Rita is absolutely amazing we had great time, watching the stars at night was very nice and relaxing. Lake George is near by for great times and views. I’d recommend bringing at AWD car or suv/truck. RITA is the best host ever anything you need she will respond and give right away. We will definitely come back in the summer.

This is my second time staying on James’s property at site 2 with my dog! We loved it just as much as the first time. James and Debbie are super welcoming and easy to reach if you need anything. Porta potty was exceptionally clean! There’s an outdoor shower as well which I didn’t end up using, and also a sink where you can wash your dishes, etc. Site 2 has the most direct views over the water, so that’s why it’s been our favorite. Hope to be back again next year!

Weekend Trip to Camp TedRock Adirondack Retreat
My buddy and I booked with Ted for a weekend hiking trip up to the ADK's. Coming 9 hours from pittsburgh after work on friday we got in super late/early saturday morning. Knowing our mid night arrival. Ted went out and hung glow sticks for us to help us navigate back to the cabin. Was unexpected and came in clutch!
The a frame was perfect for our needs. The outhouse is in great condition. Beautiful property. Peaceful and well maintained.
Will definitely be back!

Had a great stay, amazing space in the wooded area. Has a fire pit and picnic table. I think it’s the best space because it’s the most private. Right on the edge of the water. If you turn around you do see the other glamping spots and when I was there they were fully booked. Late at night the other tent was making a lot of noise and they went on the water using the canoes so that was annoying when I was trying to sleep. Also since it’s right by the water there were a lot of flies and they basically attacked us and our two dogs. They bite really bad , my one dog was bleeding from his noise and paws because they were swarming him. As soon as the sun goes down they leave though. Overall beautiful spot but flies are really bad, so try to be out during the day.

My paradise valley. You have this whole valley to yourself, with a creek running through it, and a cool old stone bridge.
Amazing.
If you're at your camp, at night, across the bridge, and you see this furry thing that wants to cross the bridge. Don't freak out, it's just a beaver. If you keep still, even with a Headlamp pointed at him, he'll slowly cross the bridge. He'll keep an eye on you, and he will go his merry way. Friendly neighborhood beaver. If I didn't live so far away, I'd stay here again soon.

Such an amazing weekend! Spectacular views, kayaking down the river, glamping at its finest with literally everything you need. Seriously, bring bedding, food, a good book, and a power bank and you are set. Rita is such a lovely and thoughtful host. We will definitely be back. Very limited service with Verizon which personally I loved to be able to escape for a weekend. We've been fortunate to stay at a lot of cool hipcamps and airbnbs/vrbos but this is one for the books 😊

This site was easy to locate. It is essentially a driveway off of the road, but it still felt pretty private. We arrived late and left early, so we only had time for a small fire and quick walk in the morning. A nice stop on our trip up North.

The plateau is a perfect getaway spot. Quiet overlooking Lake Champlain and the sailboats moored up. The night sky was a beautiful view of the milkyway. Host is very accommodating. We will be back again.
