The cabin is located in a remote area of Bear Swamp State Forest. It is about 5 miles from the nearest paved road but has seasonal roads that take you to the cabin. There are many close attractions like Skaneateles Lake and Carpenters Falls. The Cabin doesn’t have electricity or water but we do have a generator available. We do not have a shower or bathroom but we have an outhouse. We do ask people to bring their own gas if you want to run the generator and woods to make a fire. I highly recommend 4x4 vehicles but I been there in a civic and a mini van.

It's fully hooked up with hot water, electricity, and wifi.
The back bedroom mattresses and kitchen benches are made from organic and non-toxic materials. The kitchen bench and table transform into an additional sleeping space for one adult or 2 small kids.
There is a top-of-the-line OGO composting toilet. Research it online so you know all about it. The camper has a wet bath shower with hot water.
You will likely see us working in the gardens on weekends and occasionally in the evenings after work. We love to share and will offer you fresh garden veggies and flowers when they're in abundance...which is often.
You will experience starry nights and birdsong mornings. It's truly an incredible space. Feel free to have a bonfire in the backyard pit or use the portable fire pit outside the camper. We'll have plenty of wood for you.

We are also in a very popular area to the Amish. They are great neighbors and we are sure you will see them pass by regularly with their horse and buggy. The property is also next to a show horse farm that has two donkeys so be prepared to hear them also . Very entertaining. We are currently a new site and are doing construction on the land. Please be patient with us. We have one other listing on the land so there may be times you do see other guests. We have a home under construction on the property so we also may be there at times. This site gives you a quiet wooded area to camp for the night or two with a porta potty for luxury camping. This site allows you to have a quiet place to camp without a lot of people and kid free. Most campgrounds have children but Stars and Sage does not allow children. Please feel free to bring your own camping needs as we only provide a fire area. The site is approximately 19 feet by 39 feet in dimension. You will be close to Mexico village and about 20 minutes from the city of Oswego. Plenty of biking areas all around . Enjoy a hike in the trail or take a short trip to Mexico point to put your Canoe or kayaks in to enjoy Lake Ontario. Lake Ontario is well known for fishing. You may see deer, Fox, muskrat, etc. you may hear coyotes in the distance. A flash light and a hatchet and bug spray are definitely recommended to have on hand.

The vintage camper is located behind our barn in the backyard. We consider it mostly private. We have quiet neighbors and undeveloped acreage behind our property. There are hiking trails steps from the camper as well as the Farash Center for Observational Astronomy.
This is an eco-friendly camper, and we spared no expense in the renovation.
It's fully hooked up with hot water, electricity, and wifi.
The back bedroom mattresses and kitchen benches are made from organic and non-toxic materials. The kitchen bench and table transform into an additional sleeping space for one adult or 2 small kids.
There is a top-of-the-line OGO composting toilet. Research it online so you know all about it. The camper has a wet bath shower with hot water.
You will likely see us working in the gardens on weekends and occasionally in the evenings after work. We love to share and will offer you fresh garden veggies and flowers when they're in abundance...which is often.
You will experience starry nights and birdsong mornings. It's truly an incredible space. Feel free to have a bonfire in the backyard pit or use the portable fire pit outside the camper. We'll have plenty of wood for you.
There is so much to do in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, and we have a ton of suggestions for you. Just ask, and we're happy to share, based on your preferences.

One is a camping spot where you will bring your own camping supplies . The stream Sage creek runs right along the property. This property is also on the Oswego County Snowmobile trail. We are also in a very popular area to the Amish. They are great neighbors and we are sure you will see them pass by regularly with their horse and buggy. The property is also next to a show horse farm that has two donkeys so be prepared to hear them also . Very entertaining. We are currently a new site and are doing construction on the land. Please be patient with us. We have one other listing on the land so there may be times you do see other guests. We have a home under construction on the property so we also may be there at times. This site gives you a quiet wooded area to camp for the night or two with a porta potty for luxury camping. This site allows you to have a quiet place to camp without a lot of people and kid free. Most campgrounds have children but Stars and Sage does not allow children. Please feel free to bring your own camping needs as we only provide a fire area. The site is approximately 19 feet by 39 feet in dimension. You will be close to Mexico village and about 20 minutes from the city of Oswego. Plenty of biking areas all around . Enjoy a hike in the trail or take a short trip to Mexico point to put your Canoe or kayaks in to enjoy Lake Ontario. Lake Ontario is well known for fishing. You may see deer, Fox, muskrat, etc. you may hear coyotes in the distance. A flash light and a hatchet and bug spray are definitely recommended to have on hand.

Weekend Trip to A-Frame In The Woods
The A frame kept us warm and dry. Even though we had a bit of rain all day. I had no issues driving my 4 wheel drive truck across the field. The outhouse was one of the cleanest I have ever seen. Great view of sunrise in the morning. We didn’t want to sleep in the loft. So we brought 2 cots and still had room to move around.

Cozy and warm A frame! Nice wood stove that is easy to use. The loft bed was comfortable, remember to bring your bedding! We brought a couple strands of twinkle lights and made this magical little getaway perfect. Solar lights illuminate the pathway to the outhouse. We left a candle for the next guests. Enjoy!

We stayed in The Loon cabin. It was super cute and nice. Simple necessities with all bases covered. The property was so large and had shoreline and wooded and field walking so we never even needed to leave to walk the dogs. We came AFTER kids camp season and we will be back! Only a half hour drive to CMAC! Bryan was easy to reach and quick to respond.

The Heron cabin was great. Each of the 3 bedrooms had a heater and fan. The common area got chilly overnight but the bedroom stayed comfortable with the door closed. The grounds were great and our dog loved exploring. The views of the lake were spectacular and it was so peaceful sitting out on the dock. We already can’t wait to go back and take advantage of the pool, and use a kayak or canoe.
One thing to note is there is no outside lock on the cabin, though we totally felt our belongings were safe when we left during the day.

Bryan was incredibly kind, accommodating, and responsive. We rented the Hawk for 2 nights and it was perfect for our family of 4. The screened in porch is great for eating meals and playing cards. We enjoyed canoeing on the lake, and fishing on the pond. They have a very nice dock with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the lake- about 5 minutes from the cabin. They do have a pool, but it was too chilly for us to use it. No need to bring a grill or camping chairs. They have benches outside around the campfire. Also included was hand soap, dish soap, tissue, paper towels, grilling tools, microwave, toaster oven, decent sized fridge with freezer, and a fan. It has a nice rustic feel with the comforts of running water/toilet/shower. We would definitely come back!

Truly a unique stay in a good location. A frame is just as described. Comfortable sleeping loft. The cooking grills on the firepit were clutch! It was so nice to be in nature but still just a short drive to the many sights, hikes and hospitality of lake Seneca. Watching sunsets and sunrise from the a frame was wonderful. I had good cell service.

Great spot to spend some time with few interruptions! Quite quiet most of the time, some neighbors with hunting cabins not within visible range. Got visited by a porcupine on the deck of the cabin one evening (all were unscathed!). Lovely birdwatching and many interesting insects to observe, wildflowers in bloom in August. The orientation of the cabin to the sun makes it a light space. No screens in the windows so timing when to air out the cabin to avoid bugs/bats is needed unless you have screen inserts. Seems like a lovely spot to stay in the winter, I may try to come back!

We spent a couple days on Karin's property and we had a great time. The site we stayed on was the site with the camper. My daughter, her husband and their 2-year-old stayed in the camper. My wife and I setup a tent on the same site.
The camper was really nice for the kids because my daughter is pregnant and they didn't have to worry about climbing in and out of a tent or sleeping on a blowup mattress. The site is nice and opens to a field with a couple horses. Karin and her husband let us bring the granddaughter into the barn area to visit with the horses, a couple goats and chickens. She also let my granddaughter play on the swing set they have at their home.
The site also has a fire pit and Jim brought us some firewood. We had also stopped to get some firewood on the way there, but it was really nice they gave us some. There is plenty of kindling laying around to get the fire started. The site is nicely shaded so you don't have to bring a pop-up to block the sun.
Karin also gave us a half dozen eggs, put some kid's books in the camper and gave us some stuff to make s'mores with.
The camper was stocked with all the cooking and eating utensils you might need. There were towels in the bathroom and the bed was freshly made. We were able to park our vehicles at the campsite.
We didn't explore the surrounding area because we were there for a short time and wanted to relax.
Karin and Jim are wonderful hosts, and the place is great to get away for a while.
