Come unwind in peaceful Ionia, NY, and experience the charm of our 1955 El Rey, sustainably restored and fully hooked up with your well-being in mind. Step outside to enjoy our lush gardens, relax in the quiet backyard, or wander straight to hiking trails. You’re a short 20-minute drive to the Finger Lakes. Hike, swim, SUP, or explore wineries, breweries, and live music. We love sharing the very best of our region. Whether you’re craving a restful retreat, outdoor adventure, or local culture, we’re here for you. The camper is for those who love adventure, peace, serenity, and sustainability. The vintage camper is located behind our barn in the backyard. We consider it mostly private. We have quiet neighbors and undeveloped acreage behind our property. There are hiking trails steps from the camper as well as the Farash Center for Observational Astronomy. This is an eco-friendly camper, and we spared no expense in the renovation. It's fully hooked up with hot water, electricity, and wifi. The back bedroom mattresses and kitchen benches are made from organic and non-toxic materials. The kitchen bench and table transform into an additional sleeping space for one adult or 2 small kids. There is a top-of-the-line OGO composting toilet. Research it online so you know all about it. The camper has a wet bath shower with hot water. You will likely see us working in the gardens on weekends and occasionally in the evenings after work. We love to share and will offer you fresh garden veggies and flowers when they're in abundance...which is often. You will experience starry nights and birdsong mornings. It's truly an incredible space. Feel free to have a bonfire in the backyard pit or use the portable fire pit outside the camper. We'll have plenty of wood for you. There is so much to do in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, and we have a ton of suggestions for you. Just ask, and we're happy to share, based on your preferences.Eco-Friendly Vintage Camper

You'll have this Hipcamp all to yourself.

Firewood provided, firepit, private. You are free to use our large firepit or we have provided a portable fire pit for use right outside of the camper.
Toilet available
Composting toilet. We spared no expense and outfitted the camper with a high-end OGO Composting Toilet. Feel free to research the toilet online, so that you know what to expect.
No pets
Potable water available
Hose. The camper has full water hook up. We will provide drinking water from our spring fed well in the refrigerator.
Showers available
Hot water . The shower is a wet bath style (see pictures) The heater will give you approximately 5-7 minutes of hot water for showers and takes about 20 minutes to reheat after drained.

Compost bin, recycling bin, trash bin

Private, oven, stovetop or hot plate, fridge, freezer, cookware, cooking utensils, dishware, cutlery, sink or other dishwashing station
