Camp COVID Site 19

1 site · RV, Tent1 acre · Tannersville, NY
Named during the pandemic, Camp COVID Site 19 became our own little campground as we weren't able to go camping anywhere! This is the back half of our property, which is divided by a fence. The yard is also completely fenced in once you close the driveway gates allowing your pets to safely have free range of your spot if you wish! There is a stone driveway, which is a perfect flat spot to park your skoolie, motorhome, or vehicle! There is a creek running along the entire back side, which you can access though the gates under the Camp COVID sign. We also have a bon fire pit in the center, and fires are allowed as long as there is no burn ban in effect. We have water and electric available during summer months, but the electric is not strong enough to run an A/C unit without blowing our breaker. Water fill ups available all year if needed. There is a dump station at North South Lake State Park and Campground only minutes away in Haines Falls.

Great Hikes, Connects to Appacklin Trail, HikingNature Walking, Bird watching, ForestRiverViews, WildlifeThe Orange County Land Trust, which protected and maintains this 255-acre preserve, calls it “one of Orange County’s best kept secrets.” Actually, it belongs on any short list of the Hudson Valley’s “hidden” gems, well worth a drive to explore its myriad rock formations and, especially, to enjoy the 180-degree view at the Orange Trail’s apex. This vista encompasses the distant Catskills, Shawangunks and Hudson Highlands, with farm fields and a few outlier summits in the foreground. It takes a moderate uphill walk of less than a mile to reach this scenic nirvana, making it a great pre- or post-lunch outing for all ages.Learn more about this land:Great Hikes, Connects to Appacklin Trail, HikingNature Walking, Bird watching, ForestRiverViews, Wildlife The Orange County Land Trust, which protected and maintains this 255-acre preserve, calls it “one of Orange County’s best kept secrets.” Actually, it belongs on any short list of the Hudson Valley’s “hidden” gems, well worth a drive to explore its myriad rock formations and, especially, to enjoy the 180-degree view at the Orange Trail’s apex.
