BeaverWood Farm (no children)

40 sites · RVs, Tents15 acres · Ferndale, NY
We are a 15 acre farm on the shores of Swan Lake. There are plenty of campsites sites all around the property, accommodating tents, mid sized campers and RV's. No children under 16 please. Depending on how crowded we are, privacy varies, but on most weekends you can be out of site of other campers. Many campsites have fire-pits already, but you're welcome to make your own anywhere you'd like. While camping, you may be visited by over 100 friendly, free roaming FARM ANIMALS! You may feed them, but PLEASE dont let them eat plastic bags. Be sure to put all food away when you are done. We cannot offer reimbursement for tents damaged by animals. This is extremely rare, but it CAN happen. If you do not wish to put your tent at risk, please do not camp here. The farm was once an old bungalow colony and has some glass and metal still in the soil. Please wear shoes at all times. Firewood is available at several locations around the farm. There is a heated sink and shower in the back corner of our main camping area. Boats are available at our lakeside dock, at no charge. There is also a great mountain for hiking and a super secret swimming hole, both within a 10 minute drive. Also enjoy a child free visit, as we do not allow children under 16 years old. Our woodland property bordering the Esopus creek is a serene and picturesque oasis nestled in the heart of the Mid Hudson Valley. While surrounded by lush forest, it offers easy access to hiking trails that wind through the natural beauty of the area, dinning and civilization (you'll even hear the train from time to time). But our property is more than just a gateway to outdoor adventures; it's a place of tranquility and natural wonder that deserves our utmost respect. With its close proximity to all the fun things the Hudson Valley has to offer, it's the perfect retreat for those seeking a harmonious blend of outdoor exploration and relaxation in a beautiful, pristine forest setting. The property (DreamLand aka: Mugwort Express) boasts three enchanting campsites to choose from, each offering a unique experience. 1 - The Original Site: This campsite is perfect for adventurers who want quick access to the great outdoors. Wake up, jump in the car and hit the road for the great Catskills trails. It's the flattest site and the closets to parking, with under 1 minute walk to your car. 2 - Swing Side: Surrounded by towering trees and lush greenery, this campsite immerses you in the heart of our beautiful forest. It's the ideal choice for nature enthusiasts seeking a secluded and serene experience. A 1 minute walk to your car. 3 - The RiverView: Nestled on a ridge above the river's edge, this campsite provides a tranquil escape with the soothing sounds of flowing water. It's our most adventurous site to get to. A 10 to 15 minute medium-difficulty trek to get to... not a leisurely stroll (Hint: pack light) but well worth the effort! No matter which campsite you choose, our property invites you to connect with nature, relax, and make lasting memories in this stunning woodland retreat.

Stony Rose Farms

6 sites · RVs, Tents38 acres · Kingston, NY
Stony Rose Farms is located in the beautiful and historic Hudson Valley. Our area has a rich farming heritage and our land was once part of a much larger farm. We purchased the land in February of 2020 and have created our own off grid paradise full of chickens, flowers, bees and lots of different types of plants. We are NOT a commercial campground, we are a working farm that offers Agrotourism stays and experiences. Our hens and roosters play an important role in the sustainable agricultural practices we use on the farm. Our lovely ladies provide us with delicious and colorful eggs each day. Your breakfast at the farm can't get any fresher... sunny side up eggs dripping yolk onto fresh local bread, fresh melons and berries still warm from the sun, sweet honey and local milk in your coffee. A true farm to table meal is possible year round in our beautiful valley! Most weekends we offer a breakfast basket filled with goodies produced on our farm or by other local growers. The back of our property is also wooded. If you are quiet you are certain to see birds, squirrels, chipmunks, turkey and deer as you walk along the creek and explore the mossy rocks and tiny waterfalls. If you follow the marked bushwack trail you'll be guided over fallen trees and through breaks in historic stone walls, then across the creek and up the hill you will come out onto the O&W Rail Trail. This 27 mile trail is perfect for hiking, biking and strolling. In some segments it is smoothly paved and others it is gravel. From this trail you can access multiple parks, libraries and museums if you are looking for a long hike or ride. We are centrally located between Kingston, Kerhonkson, Woodstock and New Paltz and all are about a scenic 20 minutes drive. The NYS Thruway is less than 10 minutes away if you are traveling through. The Rondout Valley is home to multiple breweries, amazing restaurants, luxurious spas, places to kayak, fish, swim, rock climb... or you could spend your entire visit at the farm reading a good book and enjoying beautiful sunsets. PLEASE NOTE: -We are a working farm that uses sustainable organic methods. -There are bugs (ants, ticks, bees, mosquitos, etc) -We keep the grass at the campsites short but you will have long grass around you. That long grass is home to numerous kinds of birds that only live in that type of habitat. - Poison ivy is also possible when out in nature, we do NOT spray any chemicals on ANY of our land. -The sites are within earshot to the chicken coops, we DO have roosters and you WILL hear them. -There are wild animals around the farm. You should store away all food and garbage when you are not at the campsite. We would like to keep them cautious of humans and not a nuisance! -On holiday weekends we do have a minimum night stay.

Magical Private Oasis in Woodstock

1 site · Lodging2 acres · Lincoln Park, NY
PRIVATE TWO ACRE CAMPSITE. OWNER OPERATED. Winter camping at its best! Come and enjoy a luxury tent with plush and cozy bedding. The Nest is the most unique private Camping experience in the Hudson Valley. It boasts a fully covered oversized safari style tent on its own deck with propane heater. Outdoor seating and a separate deck with a rustic kitchen area with propane grill. Cozy up to the fire pit area for star gazing and roasting marshmallows. Winter Camping adventure awaits! Staying at The Nest in winter months has proven to be an absolutely magical experience for hundreds of our guests. However, it does require a little extra planning and an understanding of winter in the Hudson Valley. Between November and April, the weather can have its extremes and does not allow for running water as the pipes will freeze and crack. Unfortunately, even leaving bottled water often just ends up being blocks of ice and not useable for our guests. We simply ask guests to bring in water during their stay to ensure a safe useable water source. We also ask guests to bring proper clothing. The tent does reach comfortable temperatures, however, extreme cold snaps can make it necessary to bundle up and cuddle with your main squeeze. If you are open to a little adventure and a little planning, come and enjoy our little oasis! If you are looking for high end amenities with hot showers and instant heat on demand, this is probably not for you and we suggest trying our outdoor experiences in warmer months. Proudly Owner Operated! No management companies, no cleaning crews..... In order to offer our guests the best experience possible with the highest standards, we personally clean and prepare our property, we coordinate bookings and we communicate with guests. Should you need anything or have any questions during your stay, we will take the call and personally respond to any guest needs. We are extremely proud to be able to do this. Pull into your own private driveway with room for two cars. Use the cart we provide you to carry back your bags and goodies! Camping gear, you will not need! We have thought of everything to make this the best stay possible! Be sure to check out the private porta potty as you make your way down the path. It is emptied weekly and is sanitized between each stay. As you make your way down the path through the woods, you will surely be surprised as you come up to this beautiful site! On your right, you will come upon our rustic, yet beautiful, outdoor kitchen with gorgeous stained glass windows. It is set on a deck along with dining area and gazebo. The Kitchen has plenty of counter space. Enjoy the coffee area which has a K-cup coffee maker, tea kettle and tin mugs! You can store drinks in the mini fridge provided and use the cooler for your bigger items. Cook amazing meals on the propane grill with side burner. Plates, cups, and even a pan is supplied for your stay. Move the rollaway "bar" to where ever it works best for you! Enjoy your meals on the four seat patio table between the kitchen and the gazebo. When you're done or if it is too buggy, move on over to the comfy sofa and chairs in the fully netted gazebo.*** Turn on the overhead lights as the night falls upon you. Oh did we not mention there is electricity?? Well, yes there is! You will find outlets in the kitchen, gazebo and the safari sleeping tent! When you're ready for some star gazing and camp stories, or even a game of darts…move on over to the fire pit area directly across from the kitchen/gazebo deck. It's perfect for roasting marshmallows and having drinks by the fire. Be sure to bring plenty of wood as you will definitely want to linger into the night! To end your magical night, retire over to the oversized 14'x16' safari style tent. It is a comfy and spacious eclectically designed retreat. Boasting a gel memory foam mattress on a queen size bed with lush sheets and down alternative comforter to ensure everyone's comfort. Enjoy the seating area with a good book as the afternoon sun shines through. Then rinse off under the al fresco five gallon camp shower and dry off with the lush towels provided! We are excited to be using rain water collected in 50 gallon rain barrels! When the temperature drops, we provide you with body wipes for personal hygiene use as we understand that super cold showers aren't for everyone! Plus the colder temps just freeze any water left out anyway. Sweet dreams are sure to follow with either the fan on those warm nights or the heaters on those chillier nights! We provide you with an electric heater as well as a propane space heater (October through March only ). The tent heats up nicely with the propane heater so get ready to be cozy! We simply ask you to not run the heaters if you are not in the tent! We provide you with a tank of propane for your stay! We also strongly suggest you bring extra warm clothing! The Nest @ Woodstock is located in the beautiful back woods of Woodstock, one of America’s most popular small towns, filled with amazing shops, restaurants, music and unique people. The property also shares an original stone wall border with the town of Saugerties, also once called one of the “coolest small towns in America”. The Nest is also right down the road from Kingston which houses most of our favorite restaurants, shops and bars. All these amazing towns are within 10 minutes of the site, so your options are endless. The property is also bordered by several large dormant farms and protected land. Across the street is a 75 year old Sportsmans Club that promotes the interest in the conservation of earth’s natural resources, the safe use of firearms and archery and to pass that enthusiasm onto youth. Once in a while you can hear some people target shooting or practicing but for the most part, it is just you and the birds and wildlife. With that said, this is the woods! There are wild turkey, owls, deer and the occasional bear. We actually like to think that the few target shots that you may hear throughout the day, scare away these animals!! However, you want to be sure to respect nature and use all precautions to protect it and yourself. You want to make sure that you store all food in the fridge and cooler to keep animals at bay. Any trash should be placed in the trash cans and tightly sealed. We ask that you always leave it better than you found it for yourself and generations to come! This is a camping experience without needing to set up or breakdown a campsite! There are outdoor spaces that will get dusty, will have leaves and will have spider webs as they are outdoors!! While everything is wiped down for your stay, including outdoor spaces, they are still outdoor spaces. ***If booking with us for the months of November through March, please note that there will not be water available for the camp showers as the water just freezes if left out. The water cooler with cold and hot water is also removed. We recommend that you bring in water that you will need and use on a daily basis. There are gas stations/stores close by where they can be purchased.*** ***Please note our Strict Cancellation Policy. We strongly recommend that you purchase trip insurance for your reservation for any unforeseen emergencies!! There are many companies out there that will give you different options at affordable prices! Please do your research. Unfortunately, we do NOT allow date changes due to weather. This is an outdoor experience...come sun, rain or snow. If you read through our reviews, you will find that all weather experiences are magical!
