Welcome to Clearing Farm! Our grounds expand over 100 acres with many private hiking trails, a big field and cascading waterfalls. Visit our Instagram @clearingfarm to find out more. Please note while our cabin is a premium experience on a working farm, it is still an outdoor experience that takes place deep in the woods, off the grid and in a cabin built from earthy or recycled materials. It is a far cry from a typical hotel or traditional glamping. This Clearing Farm off-grid cabin is located on our 100+ acre farm. You'll be staying right next to a waterfall and able to enjoy all our land features. Experience a private campsite equipped with a Casper Full Mattress, fire pit and charcoal grill.

Waterfall Paradise, Walk to River
This was exactly what we were looking for! Not too far from Philadelphia, it was easy to get to and was even more than expected. The "cabin" is fairly barebones (just as described -- don't forget your bedding!) and the surrounding campsite is private and extremely peaceful. We felt it was secluded enough to feel totally comfortable leaving our stuff out, but the location was close enough to drive to nearby restaurants and hikes. Highly recommend bringing a hammock, as there is a perfect spot right beside the (private!) waterfall to set up and relax. There was a bit of distant mechanical noise during the day while we were there, but it was mostly drowned out by the waterfall. We opted in for the hot tub add on, which was a real cherry on top. The waterfalls by the hot tub are bigger than those by the campsite, but it is about a ten minute walk between the two sites. 10/10 recommend!

Waterfall Paradise, Walk to River
What a great site! There's one structure with a bed that sleeps two but plenty of level ground to pitch tents. There's plenty of seating around the campfire with two Adirondack chairs, a log bench and cut log rounds. There is a separate barbecue grill by the stream and a grill grate that fits over the campfire surround. The composting toilet is more like an outhouse but it was very pleasant. Zero bad odor and smelled like pine sawdust - because that's what you spread after finishing your business. Mike greeted us at the campsite to deliver the farm fresh eggs we ordered (very delicious) and also got the stove started for the hot tub. He was super friendly and helpful during our stay. The hot tub is a separate charge and might seem a bit high but we found it well worth the cost. You also have it for 12 hours so we scheduled a noon start and had it until late evening. We packed a pop-up privacy tent to use as a changing area as it was still slightly chilly and we didn't want to hike down in bathing suits. Jenna's site was our very first Hipcamp experience and we will definitely be back.

Perfect cabin in the woods. But…
Without question the place is beautiful. Coming into the place, it’s situated in the most magical place to camp. Very remote and very private. The remoteness though was a little too much as there was no cell service at all. Another thing to note is that security maybe an issue. Both the door knobs and double locks were from the outside. I don’t know with anyone else, but the idea that someone can lock you in is a little terrifying for us. Hopefully that could be fixed.

Can’t wait to come back!!!!
Our stay was amazing!!!! This place is such a hidden gem and I can’t wait to come back. The thermal bath was one of the most special experiences I’ve had in a long time - 100% worth the money! The eco cabin was adorable, quaint, and perfectly well-stocked with everything we needed. The record player and vast collection were such a bonus too. The outdoor kitchen was perfect for our needs as well, we were able to whip up some pretty decadent meals with all the materials provided. Thank you Dennis & Jenna for a fantastic experience!

We loved the close proximity to the waterfalls! The Hot Spring was amazing! It was the most relaxing get away we have ever had! An added bonus was that our pup felt comfortable and enjoyed exploring the campsite and trails.

The Cabin on the Mongaup River
Glamping For The Outdoorsman
Long before we ever got there, our host made sure that we had all the directions we needed to get there safely and all the things we would need to be comfortable. This is important because there is NO signal out that way for most. The cabin itself was as nice as the woods it was in. Spacious enough for 5 and a dog (air mattress included). The wood stove was amazing for those cold autumn nights and the led lights were more than enough to play board games in as the sun went down. Lastly, the outdoor kitchen was more than enough to prepare some very very nice meals. All in all, the site is more glamp than camp, but provides a great escape from city life without needing to "Rough it" Do note that the road to the cabin is not very sedan friendly. Four wheel drive and good ground clearance is almost a must. Big trucks may have a tough time navigating the trail down as well.

Jenna’s place was amazing! The cabin was right by the waterfall and had everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The thermal hot tub was fabulous! Jenna’s detailed direction on how to find the campsite was very helpful especially when we arrived much later than anticipated and it was already dark. Would definitely stay again.

Magical stay
What a magical property you have! We had a perfect stay. The extras like the water source, wood delivery, chairs and little table by the fire pit, all made it easy for a 1 night stay. We loved hearing the creek at night, the privacy and hiking to the big waterfall. Too bad the stove isn’t allowed, that would have been cozy. Would love to come back again!

Colorado Vibes
We had a wonderful time. It is a very private and beautiful location. We moved here from Colorado a couple years ago, and campsites reminded us of it! The stream is crystal clear and my 4 year old had the best time playing in it. We would love to comeback again!

Great set up and the small stream/ waterfalls are great. My wife and I enjoyed every bit, especially being her first time glamping or being in the woods. Fresh eggs were delicious for breakfast. Only recommendation would be to check the shower to make sure it works, but it was still nice under the the small waterfall. The skillets were a great use. Sad we didn't get to use the thermal waterfall bath, but Jenna gave us an advance notice . Hopefully it gets fix. Definitely will be back.

Camping with my boys! (7 and 4)
Great location, not too far from NYC—but far enough to get out. The cabin is clean and well maintained, enough solar/battery to keep the lights on for an hour or two at night. Great scenic walks and a great waterfall. Has pretty much everything you’ll need, except bring a spatula for pancakes etc, and bring an axe. Otherwise plates/cutlery/basic cookware is all there!

30th birthday waterfall oasis
Spent my 30th birthday at this little slice of heaven with my partner and 3 cattle dogs. We had an amazing weekend and wish we booked longer! We cannot wait to come again. Just a heads up, there is a sweet little black pittie mix named Lemmy that roams the grounds, for those whose dogs may not be as dog friendly as ours :) 10/10 we will definitely be coming back!

So amazing all around!
First and foremost, Jenna was the most incredible host. So kind and communicative, and the booking/add-ons process was easy, thorough and so organized. And the campsite!! It was so beautiful and peaceful next to the stream with waterfalls, and had everything we could need. Perfect blend of rustic nature but with a clean cabin to sleep in. Off the grid (no cell service), but not TOO far off lol. The walk to the big waterfall was so scenic and the waterfall itself was just SO cool. Can’t recommend Clearing Farm enough. 1000/10! Definitely plan to go back!

The Cabin on the Mongaup River
Perfect little off-grid cabin
The time and effort that Jenna has put into creating this cabin is outstanding and really makes for a special experience. Who needs power! Also, the fact that there's no cell service really means you can disconnect and just be in the moment. We loved our little stay, especially playing records and exploring the woods and the waterfall. Being the height of summer our night was pretty toasty, but sleeping with the windows open allowed for a bit of breeze, and heading down to the Mongaup river for a dip in the morning was amazing. Would definitely visit again and do some river tubing!

Your Own Private Waterfall!
Wowza -- this might be my favorite campsite ever! Having your own private waterfall & hearing its sounds as you sleep combined with the privacy (we were there midweek late July -- not sure if at other times you share the waterfalls with other guests...) make this place truly unique and exquisite. The site also has some "glamping" amenities like a sleeping cabin with a comfy full mattress and bed; a covered picnic table, and a homemade dishwashing sink set up (with river water) yet maintains its rustic and natural quality with the wooden "deck" and bridge over the waterfalls where we perched our beach chairs and read and napped. We enjoyed a gorgeous hike along the Mongaup River that is a 5 minute drive from the campsite. I can't wait to find an excuse to return!

Amazing ground & environment
The camp site and grounds are amazing! While there are stuff to explore on the grounds the camp site sits on the river that has a verity of small waterfalls (there are bigger ones else where on the grounds). The site is clean and big, you have plenty of space and are away from people. I only saw 2 people (and they work at the farm). Through out the site and grounds there are hand made signs that give direction, rules and or description of the area (gives it a nice personal touch). The pictures really don't do it justice it really is an amazing place. Highly recommend the Thermal Waterfall Bath add on, such a unique experience, it really is relaxing plus it has an amazing atmosphere. It is easy to get to and all directions/communications are clear (both at the site and before arriving) Also Jenna and team are so nice and helpful. Jenna also is quick to respond if you have any questions.

Good times, good vibes!
What a beautiful space! Very easy communication with Jenna and her colleagues at the farm. This cabin is a perfect cross-over between camping and glamping. Manage your expectations. This is a hand-built marvel that is not weatherized, but who cares! It is a proper cabin, not the Ritz ( it is not weatherized ). You may hear a car go by once in a while - a small road isn't too far - but otherwise you're nice and secluded. Outhouse is most pristine - comes with party lights and everything. Beautiful new bench/bed right out front of the cabin is great for sitting by the fire and also laying on at night to watch the stars. The solar powered lights and sound system work well enough as long as there's been sun - keep an eye on that battery counter if you're rocking them tunes. And dear visitors please PLEASE sleeve the records properly. Instructions from Jenna and crew were pretty easy. The area is more in the foothills of Catskills but nonetheless, close enough for day trips for hikes if you do wish to go in deeper. Plenty to do around there though - just do your research ahead of time as reception is not so good, if any. If you're there do take advantage of farm fresh eggs and/or the gravity fed, wood burning jacuzzi on the property - it is a bliss. If you're lucky you may meet the man behind all the hand-made goodness you're enjoying. Do take a tour if offered. Do bring your doggo.
