We have three camp sites on a 200-acre parcel of secluded, rural farm land. We are a working pasture based farm where you can see how grass fed beef, pork, chicken, and eggs are produced. There's nothing quite like fresh eggs and bacon after waking up to the sunrise over a fog-filled valley!
When you arrive we will provide a complimentary carton of pastured raised eggs and you are welcome to visit our web site (redhouseranch . net) or store to order meats for your stay and/or to take with you upon your departure. We have a wide variety of grass fed beef, pasture raised pork, snack sticks for long hikes, and dog bones and smoked treats for your furry friends. Many of our items are well suited for campfire cooking. Keep in mind that all our products are frozen so be sure to plan for time to thaw. If you're not sure what that involves - we're here to help.
We are a working farm but, much of our property is not grazed or farmed. You are welcome to explore the entire area while also getting a glimpse of sustainable, pasture-based, farming methods. Learn more about us and the history of the farm at our website.
As you roam the hills and forests you'll eventually bump into some of our animals. Please do not enter the animal enclosures or touch any of the electrified fence lines. If you really want to pet a piggie or hold a chicken - just reach out to Ike or Dave and we will gladly arrange this for you.
Red House Ranch is also the perfect spot for wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers. During your stay you may encounter eagles, blue herons, coyotes, turtles, wild turkeys, foxes, the endangered bobolink bird (its unique call sounds a bit like R2D2), deer, great horned owls, and many unique plants. It's not uncommon to hear the coyotes howling at night.
In addition to hiking trails with incredible views, there are four ponds on the property easily accessible with mown paths. One is very large with a dock and suitable for swimming, paddling, fishing, or just relaxing but the water. The other three are smaller and are now primarily wildlife habitat. easily accessible with mown paths
If you're feeling adventurous, there is a more strenuous hike down into the creek bed where you can find miniature versions of the gorges and waterfalls that our region is known for. We are happy to provide maps and guidance or leave you to your own devices.
When skies are clear our area has very little light pollution and excellent star visibility. It's a great place to view the night sky during a meteor shower.

You will find breathtaking moments beneath one of the park’s 12 waterfalls. Twelve! Hike along nine miles of trails in Enfield Glen, a rugged wooded gorge that will leave you wide-eyed with wonder. Take in views of the 115-foot Lucifer Falls from the gorgeous Gorge Trail or explore a Historic Gristmill.
Probably the park’s coolest attraction is a natural swimming pool at the base of Lower Falls. It’s perfect for a hot summer day and even has a diving board! Pro tip: check the water temperature on the park’s website before you go, it varies widely. There is also plenty of fishing and hunting nearby. Plus, options for the kiddos make this a destination for the whole family. After a long day of chasing waterfalls, stop for a post-hike beverage at Ithaca Brewery.

This site is good for tent camping, campers or for large self driven RVs or pull behind RV trailers, with plenty of room for parking and turnaround. Extra tents may be erected. There are are no electric or plumbing utilities onsite. There is one composting toilet, but no shower facilities. Generators may be used.
The sight has a campfire ring, free firewood and a table with 4 chairs. The owners will not disturb you at your camping site but may use the south end of the lot near the pond. We are a dog-friendly location. Off-leash is okay, as long as your dog responds reliably to recall commands and is friendly with children and small dogs. The owners have two small dogs who are occasionally off-leash.
Looking to explore off-site? Ithaca: Cascadilla Meadow is located just 5 minutes from Cornell University and 10 minutes from all downtown Ithaca has to offer. Ithaca is well known for its many incredible restaurants, Farmers Market, local stores and art, theatre, wineries and breweries and of course, live music.
Finger Lakes: In just 10-20 minutes from this location, you will find an abundance of waterfalls including Ithaca Falls, Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Falls. Cayuga Lake is great for Sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Lake swimming is available at Myers Park in Lansing or Taughannock State Park outside of Trumansburg. Jump off a diving board into the pool at the bottom of Lower Treman Falls or hike upper Treman to Lucifer Falls, possibly the most beautiful short hike you’ll ever find. The area has hundreds of incredible hiking trails to choose from. Plus, Seneca Lake and the Finger Lakes Wine Trail are just a bit farther west!
Biking: The roads of the Ellis Hollow area are popular with cyclists, while nearby Yellow Barn Forest, Hammond Hill and Shindagin Hollow are popular spots for mountain biking.
Full disclosure: Cascadilla Meadow’s RV parking is close to a moderately used local road. Tall power lines cut across this lot. We are also located the equivalent of a city block from a natural gas transfer station. We feel the benefits of solitary parking and the natural beauty of this area outweigh the small downsides of this location.

Pitch your tent on the back 40 acres of a working goat farm. Site #1 has a tent platform, table and firepit. The 12 x 16 tent platform backs up to the mature hedgerow of maples and oaks for afternoon shade, and the campsite overlooks Ithaca's Inlet Valley. The platform is just a 4 minute walk to the main house, and you'll have complete privacy.
Site #2 has a table and firepit, but no platform.
Site #3 has a table and firepit but no platform. It is a level spot on the pasture where you can pitch a tent or park a vehicle.

I stayed with my pup and had a good night's sleep. Great location for visiting Ithica. Just needed a place to park my camper van for the night. The site is easy to find and access. Thought it is relatively close to the road and in front of the house, off the driveway, it didn't feel like it. Road was quiet after 10 and had no issue with reference to the house location. Got to meet Z and he was very welcoming. It was nice to have the electric access and despite the rainy cold weather we had, it was a nice stay. Would definitely stay again.

We had such an amazing time here! My boyfriend, my roommate and her partner, and our dog all came up for the weekend — it was absolutely gorgeous. The site was spacious and private; we couldn’t see anyone else around, which made it feel so peaceful and perfect for a quiet getaway. It did get a bit chilly at night, but that just added to the cozy campfire vibes.
Dave and Ike were incredibly hospitable and welcoming — and the fresh eggs were delicious! Would 100% recommend this spot to anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy some beautiful open space.

It suddenly turned pretty cold during our stay and the campground staff were very helpful with freeze warning notifications. We’d love to return when it’s warmer out! My boyfriend and I recently converted a shuttle bus into our home on wheels. This was our maiden voyage and it could not have gone any better. Z’s land was the perfect first step for our trip. Easy to find, peaceful, and close by the state parks which was a plus. We stayed here for 2 nights as we explored the area. Wifi was great. Very convenient to have electrical and water hook up. We had an amazing time! Even with a slight hiccup on arrival, Hosts Ike and David were so sweet and helped us get our meat and egg order before dinner time! We stayed at Zbarn for three nights while we explored the wineries and nearby parks. It was perfect for a self-contained camper van, as it had electric and great internet. A 25 foot 30A cord with adapters for a surge suppressor will reach if you park close enough, but he also provides a 15A extension cord. There is a mowed strip of utility right-of way in back for walking the dog off-leash.
If you want to dump your holding tank and get a hot shower (or a hike and a swim), a day pass at Watkins Glen SP is $10.
Insider tip if you are there to re-stock wine: go to Northside Wine in Ithaca for advice on wineries to try. They know their stuff and confirmed some of our favorites and ‘meh’ places to skip. There are 150 wineries in the region, and they know them well.

The site was flat with a great view. The few sites on the property are spread out so you don't see each other. We rode gravel bikes during the afternoon, then swam in the pond, then cooked smoked pork chops that they delivered upon our arrival. In the evening we sat around the campfire and watched the stars come out. I'd say more good things about this property but selfishly I don't want it to get so popular we can't book it again!

We were greeted by Dave with a dozen of fresh eggs 🤤and he showed us the site. We've spent a wonderful evening, we visited the animals. The place is amazing, well maintained with restroom with an incredible view 😊. We had a t-storm when the night has come and the field and all the trees were full of fireflies.It was just magical!!!

This was our first time out in our hybrid pop out and this particular site was perfect for us. When we arrived, check in was easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved this site because it was facing the open yard area which was great for our 4 and 1 year old to run around in. We liked being near the exit too because it gave us a little extra space to navigate parking and setting up. Overall a great experience. Penny was easy to communicate with and a great host!

If you’re looking for a Hipcamp that feels like your own private slice of paradise, this is it. The site is perfectly level with plenty of space to spread out, surrounded by stunning views and endless nature. At night, the field transforms into a magical display of fireflies, and during the day, you can watch pollinators and wildlife while relaxing by the serene pond. The host is top-notch—responsive, friendly, and even offers incredible meats for sale (highly recommend stocking up!). One of my all-time favorite Hipcamps. Can’t wait to come back!

The site was a gravel offshoot of the owner’s drive by a stream. There was a fire pit and a table. I didn’t meet the owner in person, we were both busy, but communicated with him through the Hipcamp text. He seem personable and caring. I would use this site again.
