We recommend bringing inflatables and or kayaks to take advantage of the beautiful river. Guests can drop in a few miles up river, and float down to the campsite. All lodging sites have heating for your comfort and are available year round! The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night.
Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October.
In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be.
The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience.
Contact us to coordinate for larger group bookings. Please note that a significant portion of county tax/fees and cancellation or change fees may be avoided by booking the base amount of people (4) and at a much later date adding extra guests. Guests NOT occupying canvas tent (lodging) and bringing their own tents should not be paying an occupancy tax but there is no provision for this in the app. We do not want our guests paying taxes -- that benefit no one but useless bureaucracy! Extra guests may be added the week before booking. Just let us know your plans through the app!

Wahl Dairy Farm has been a family run and owned small farm since 1921 when August Wahl moved their family to Callicoon. August was a butcher by trade, and the farm started as a family homestead, raising their own chickens and cows with the help of a few horses and of course August's father who was very handy and could make axe handles and wooden wheel spokes.
The Wahl homestead became Wahl Dairy Farm in the 1940s when August started selling milk, two or four cans at a time, to the creamery. August's son, Vernon, took over the business and built it up; at one point about 100 cows were being milked! Vernon's son Ross took over the farm in 1995 and diversified it. Ross regularly raises chickens and pigs and grows pumpkins, in addition to the 40 or so milking cows currently on the farm (there are also calves and heifers).
The farm is about 200 acres in total, including 15 acres of woods, 15 acres of "hunting" land (deer and rabbits roam free in the scrub), and close to 150 acres in production with pasture and hay. We never feed corn silage! We believe the corn gives the milk a more sour taste (you are what you eat!). We're proud that we've always been in grassland and committed
to raising a mostly grass fed dairy herd, a quality not found in many diary farms today. We're excited to share this place with you!
In addition there is excellent cell phone service on the farm! Great for digital nomads and everyone who needs to stay connected. The site is the second highest point in Sullivan County. Some of the most beautiful views in New York State!

Ideally located - West facing views to the Delaware River that provides spectacular sunsets. The town of Callicoon is six miles to the North and Narrowsburg is six miles to the south. Most of the restaurants in the area are farm to table - excellent quality. Wildlife is abundant - you will see many deer, bald eagles, bear, wild turkeys, and much more. Pepper spray is a must for spending time on the property. We have not seen a bear on our property, however there have been sightings near by. River access is approximately one mile south (3 minute drive) on NY97 at Skinners Falls Beach. There is a pile of free firewood on an old farm wagon that you will see on your way up. We will meet you at the site when you check in.
Guidelines:
1 Please keep all food and garbage inside your trailer during your entire stay unless you are eating at the picnic bench.
2 Keep pepper spray on your person at all times! It can be purchased at Tom's Bait and Tackle at the strip mall just before entering Narrowsburg: 116 Kirks Rd. Check photos
3 Please take all food scraps with you - avoid pouring cooking oil and leaving garbage on the property.
4 Kindly use the fire pit 20 feet or more from the picnic table and all trees - the location it is in when you arrive is the best place.
5 Please avoid touching any electric wires to prevent electric shock.
6 Please cover the picnic table and metal fire pit before leaving.
7 Please be respectful of our neighbors by staying on our property. Our property ends 10 feet into the woods.
8 We do not supply firewood, however there is plenty that can be gathered from our property. You will see it laying all around.
9 Please clean up after your pet.
10 If you dog is not well trained and barks uncontrollably we kindly ask that you look for a more remote Hipcamp location. Our neighbors do not want dogs on their property.
11 Use bug spray to avoid ticks, mosquitos, etc.

Guests are responsible for any damage beyond normal wear and tear that occurs during their stay, including damage to buildings, the bar, furnishings, amenities, or other property. Any damage found after checkout will be documented and may be submitted through Hipcamp’s resolution process for reimbursement of the reasonable cost of cleaning, repair, or replacement.

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back! Communication with the host was easy from start to finish, making everything simple and stress-free. The campsite was in the perfect setting—peaceful, scenic, and exactly what we were looking for. The nearby town was absolutely adorable, with plenty of charm to explore. Jim and Carol’s campsite was the perfect spot for us to stay with our two dogs. It was driving distance to a ton of lakes which was great so we were able to go fishing and rented a row-boat at Lake Superior State Park. Our dogs enjoyed the campsite as well. There was plenty of space to walk them around and help them get out some energy. This was the perfect hipcamp for us. It’s so convenient to have water, sewer, and electric without having to deal with a crowded campsite. We hope to be back again soon. I highly recommend this hipcamp!

This was a very very nice stay! Our dogs absolutely loved it and despite the fact that it rained the whole time we were there, we enjoyed very much! There was electricity and water! It was very private and we did not see another human being for 4 days! There are flat spots and you can get a fair amount of phone cell! The river view is beautiful! We saw birds, chipmunks and squirrels! If you have dogs, spray them for ticks!

The site has beautiful views and is in a pretty quiet area. The land is really level for the camper. The town is close enough to walk or bike to and the shops are adorable.

We absolutely loved our stay at Adam's place and we already cant wait to go back! The site is so quiet and peaceful, yet a short drive to many of the great little towns in the area. Nearly every morning we awoke to wild turkeys wandering in the meadow, and saw many deer throughout the day. The view of the Delaware River down the hill never gets old! Great private spot with easy access for our older rear wheel drive class-B RV. Dogs had a blast rubbing free playing in the tall grass while we tended the fire ring watching out over them towards the Delaware River. We enjoyed the starry night and will be back in the spring! We loved camping on Adam’s land. It was beautiful, private and serene. There is a large parking area that’s pretty level w a fire pit and a picnic table that has a lovely view down the property w the Delaware River in the background!
Our dogs absolutely loved it. We had to wait for a flock of Turkeys to cross in front of us, halfway up the driveway, when we arrived and the night sky was stunning. Both the property and the electric hook-up were easy to find. We can’t wait to come back!!
