The river typically doesn't exceed more than 3 feet of depth throughout the entire property (unless high rain totals). Relatively short drives to local attractions include the newly renovated Holiday Mountain Ski & Fun Park (1.2 miles), Resorts World Catskills Casino (2.6 miles), the Kartrite Indoor Water Park (2.9 miles), and Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (18.4 mile), home to the 1969 Woodstock music festival. 2 gas stations, a liquor store and supermarket are also within 2 miles of the property, as well as local eateries. We recommend bringing inflatables and or kayaks to take advantage of the beautiful river. Guests can drop in a few miles up river, and float down to the campsite. All lodging sites have heating for your comfort and are available year round! The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night.
Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October.
In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be.
The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience.
Contact us to coordinate for larger group bookings. Please note that a significant portion of county tax/fees and cancellation or change fees may be avoided by booking the base amount of people (4) and at a much later date adding extra guests. Guests NOT occupying canvas tent (lodging) and bringing their own tents should not be paying an occupancy tax but there is no provision for this in the app. We do not want our guests paying taxes -- that benefit no one but useless bureaucracy! Extra guests may be added the week before booking. Just let us know your plans through the app!

Wahl Dairy Farm has been a family run and owned small farm since 1921 when August Wahl moved their family to Callicoon. August was a butcher by trade, and the farm started as a family homestead, raising their own chickens and cows with the help of a few horses and of course August's father who was very handy and could make axe handles and wooden wheel spokes.
The Wahl homestead became Wahl Dairy Farm in the 1940s when August started selling milk, two or four cans at a time, to the creamery. August's son, Vernon, took over the business and built it up; at one point about 100 cows were being milked! Vernon's son Ross took over the farm in 1995 and diversified it. Ross regularly raises chickens and pigs and grows pumpkins, in addition to the 40 or so milking cows currently on the farm (there are also calves and heifers).
The farm is about 200 acres in total, including 15 acres of woods, 15 acres of "hunting" land (deer and rabbits roam free in the scrub), and close to 150 acres in production with pasture and hay. We never feed corn silage! We believe the corn gives the milk a more sour taste (you are what you eat!). We're proud that we've always been in grassland and committed
to raising a mostly grass fed dairy herd, a quality not found in many diary farms today. We're excited to share this place with you!
In addition there is excellent cell phone service on the farm! Great for digital nomads and everyone who needs to stay connected. The site is the second highest point in Sullivan County. Some of the most beautiful views in New York State!

The staff was very kind. They allowed us to switch from the RV site to the Tent/Drinking Site which had more privacy. The whole area was beautiful, more than pictures can show. The drinks at the bar and the food from the food truck were very good! It was a nice festive atmosphere w/friendly people on a Friday night. The three large fires for everyone to enjoy was a nice touch.

This site is located only a short drive off of Route 84 so perfect for a stay over when on a road trip. The site is level and behind a house in the shade. The hosts were very nice and met me upon arrival to show me the site and help set up. They provided me a WiFi password and even had a packet of menus of local restaurants. Very thoughtful people. I would recommend this camp if you needed a place to stop for a night while traveling Route 84.
