Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. There is a public hiking trail that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the site. The sites are only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, gas, liquor store. I also have dry, split firewood available for $10 on site. Please don't bring your own unless it is prepackaged from shaws or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war.  It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well.  All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time.  During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings.  There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest.  Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since.  Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). The sites are only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, gas, liquor store. I also have dry, split firewood available for $10 on site. As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war.  It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well.  All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time.  During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings.  There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest.  Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since.  Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war.  It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well.  All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time.  During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings.  There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest.  Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since.  Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

This little cabin was a nice retreat away from home for a few days. Having bedding provided was a nice touch and the bed is very comfortable. The parking is not far from the cabin (maybe 50-100ft) and the driveway was even plowed very shortly after a few inches of snow fell during my stay. There’s a fair amount of yard space available, great for playing in the snow this time of year, and the steam right outside the cabin door is a pretty sight and sound every time you exit. This cabin is also perfect for anyone who doesn’t like dealing with a wood stove to keep warm, instead a gas radiator controlled by a digital thermostat keeps the cabin warm exactly how you like it, a very surprising but much appreciated bonus I found out after arriving. Overall, this cabin was fantastic, warm, and cozy, and I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for somewhat easy cabin camping in the winter.

Had a most wonderful cozy winter stay at the tiny house. Such a beautiful location (overlooking the Putney river), with nice views and quiet surroundings. The cabin itself was well equipped with everything we needed, and a quality propane stove that kept us warm through a 0° night! Robbin was very communicative and responsive to any questions we had leading up to and throughout the stay. A short walk down to the pond and into the pines and you’re suddenly unaware of reality or time… Truly a beautiful piece of land. Perfect little cabin with such character. A hot wood stove to keep cozy as the falling snow blanketed the silent forest around us. Comfy sleeping pads, lights, plenty of wood, delicious water, cookware and other supplies. Outhouse was so clean and honestly adorable lol!! Truly the peaceful escape I needed. I want to come back and experience what energy every different season offers, I’m sure they each offer magic.

Gorgeous location! What a cool spot. Directions brought us right up the road that runs between the two main houses- Your classic white antique farmhouse on the left & the newer house on the right. Just past the house & down around back, we loaded up 2 big bins of firewood & headed down the hill to the campsite entrance on the right. There are 2 ponds along the road where RV's & vans can park, no fire pits, & kind of out in the open for us. The lower pond & camp site was lovely, but little tricky to get our little schoolie parked in close to the fire pit area, plus it was a bit wet & mushy, (understandably, in late November) so we decided to walk down & see if there was a dryer option. We found a few more drive-in campsites each with picnic tables, fire pits, a little outhouse & level, nicely woodchipped, tent spots. It's all pretty obviously marked with painted signs & little solar lights. Its adorable. We parked our bus down there since it was cold as heck & we wanted to be very close to a bonfire! This area was also more private, in the edge of the woods under the trees. We had the whole place to ourselves. We had a huge bonfire, while it lightly snowed. Beautiful.

Wonderfully warm and curated cozy cabin! It was a wet, chilly, late fall weekend and we were so comfortable in Robbin’s tiny house. Everything was just as described and we likewise had everything + more we needed. Really enjoyed the sound system and super appreciated the ample water provided. Love the added space of the lofted bed. The pull down ladder went with the overall fun, creative vibe of the spot. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!

The eggs they gave us on arrival were delicious and there was plenty of firewood for us to burn on the cold October nights. Everything was immaculate and clean, especially the out house with some luxury touches. All the extra details show how much they care about their guests camping experience. The property was fun to explore as well as visiting all the animals on the farm. Easy to explore the area from their place, loved the small town general stores and local creameries. We have been the caretakers of this land and cabin since 2015, when we bought it from the builder of the modest cabin on-site, Steve. It is our family camp, but we love to share it with friends and fellow nature-loving campers. The land is partially wooded, and partially 'old field' that is slowly re-foresting through natural succession with some intentional interruption in order to introduce edible native trees and shrubs that are not naturally present. In this way the land is a slowly developing food forest and also a nursery for its plant-loving stewards. Learn more about this land: Escape the city and find yourself in this off-grid hillside cabin with a deck overlooking the Taconic mountain range.   Wander through field and forest, and cool off in the nearby stream.    The cabin has two rooms, and there is a kids playground and tire swing making this an appropriate family camping getaway.    There is a solar panel providing indoor lights and phone charging capabilities, a fire pit with a grill, and a simple array of pots, dishes, and utensils.  There is a spring-fed 55 gallon reservoir of potable water that will slowly refill as well. Though not far off the road, there is very little car traffic, and the surroundings are very peaceful.  The din of the running stream is a constant, while the sounds of coyotes and owls can be heard at night.  As the name indicates, the east-facing hillside is often witness to incredible moonrises, and the stars are always bright.  Nearby Attractions: The Beer Diviner small-scale brewery and taproom is a stone's throw away from the parking area with a selection of tasty beer and some food options available.  In addition to regular hours, there are special summer events, and live music every Saturday night. Cherry Plain State Park is a 'less-traveled' state park and campground just 3.5 miles up the road, offering lake swimming, boating, hiking and mountain bike trails. Other nearby outdoor attractions include:  Williamstown MA, The Taconic Crest Trail, Jiminy Peak Resort, Hancock Shaker Village, and Mt. Greylock.
