When animals are on the farm, guests are welcome to arrange a visit. The site is private and has its own entrance, separate from the main farmyard. While we’re close to the road, the yurt sits in a quieter pocket of the property with direct access to the river. Evenings are calm, with the sound of water and the surrounding countryside. Inside, the yurt is simply but comfortably furnished, with a wood stove for heat and solar power for lighting and device charging. This is a true off-grid stay—there is no running water. Cooking is done in a separate outdoor kitchen area with a roof but open sides. It works well in fair weather and most of the year, though winter cooking does require preparation for the cold. A nearby propane incinerator toilet, imported from Norway, completes the setup. Access to the yurt is on foot via a short walk from the parking area, so guests should be comfortable carrying their gear. Brought my girlfriend here as a little surprise trip for her bday and she absolutely loved it!! I was a little nervous about the weather but it ended up being so cozy inside the Yurt with the snowfall outside. Such a nice and relaxing stay with wonderful hosts that accommodates to all of your needs. Was so relieving to be able to pack nice and light and just hangout. We had everything we needed! Awesome hosts and a an awesome place. Ed made sure we had plenty of wood the entire time and was always available if we needed anything!

You will not regret a stay at Mariaville Goat Farm!! Rick and Ed are the most gracious hosts I have ever met! They have such a beautiful sustainable farm and you would never expect the impeccable treats and food that was delivered by hand to our yurt! Just amazing!! And I cannot say enough about the goats! It was an amazing experience and I totally fell in love with all the goats (especially Audrey Hepburn and Iris) and Rick’s gentle demeanor!! The yurt was awesome and we had a blast. It may be off grid but so comfortable and welcoming! We took the goatie herd for a beautiful walk. I cannot say enough about the farm!! It was perfect!! I will definitely be booking again for next year!! It’s a must!!

2 nights at Mariaville Goat Farm Yurt

I was not expecting the level of hospitality that we received during this trip. I thought going “off grid” meant we would be roughing but man was I wrong! I was completely immersed in a cocoon of comfort and safety. Rick and Ed are the kindest souls who spoke softly as they showed us around and gave us helpful tips on how to interact with the goats and how to enjoy the yurt and property to the fullest. My friend and I took the goat herd for a walk on the trails and everything is well maintained but still completely natural. I laid on a yoga mat and rested with a warm breeze and 5 goats laid beside me and rested. It was so sweet. 🥹 There are beautiful sculptures throughout the property that are made with things that the world would call junk… they’ve turned each piece of “junk” into a work of art….vines intertwined, a slab of rock with smaller rocks and pine cones artfully placed, pieces of broken mirrors lining up along a ridge…stone creatures here and there…I don’t have enough space to list all of the interesting things that we saw! I highly recommend all of the meals, which are delivered right to your door and arranged beautifully. There was so much of everything. Do not bring snacks! You will not need them lol! The yurt itself is cozy and stocked with far more comforts than you can find in any 5 star hotel. I absolutely cannot wait to go back! I simply adore Mariaville Goat Farm!! ❤️

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay in the yurt. It’s beautifully decorated and very cozy. Rick and Ed are fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome as soon as we stepped on the farm. My husband is a huge goat lover, and we absolutely loved interacting and hanging out with the goats. The whole experience was wonderful and we can’t wait to go back!

We stayed two nights and thought the yurt was lovely! Ed and Rick have created a very thoughtful, private, comfortable and peaceful space while providing very fresh and delicious food options. They were always available and accommodating making our stay laid back. They made sure we were always satisfied and were flexible with our needs. They made sure we were able to enjoy some goat time and yoga which was a highlight of the experience. Perfect place to enjoy some peace and quiet, fresh prepared meals, and relaxing vibes.
