We welcome those interested in learning more and engaging with us and the animals that live here to do so! We hope our guests will explore the property as we have trails looping throughout it, and look to build more over the years to come! We welcome well-mannered dogs on the property being mindful that it is located on a small hill overlooking our family home (Feather Pond Hollow on Instagram) which houses a toddler, two working-from-home adults, and as of 2026, 2 White German Shepard/Great Pyrenees dogs (Bos and Ley who are 1 year old and learning), a chair lounging goat (Buttercup), geese (the JuJus, good and bad - they can be, so best to be on guard), and many ducks and chickens. The wildflowers are in bloom for summer, and the song birds are singing. We invite you to join us in the woods!
We are on Main Rd. (VT Route 8) and the property has a driveway entrance, making it easy to leave and explore the nearby areas of:
South to Massachusetts:
North Adams, MA (10 mins), which is home to Mass MoCA - the largest contemporary art museum in the country, and many wonderful spots to explore for shopping and dining.
Williamstown, MA (20 mins), offers tons of hiking trails and The Clark museum.
Staying in VT:
Readsboro, VT (10 mins), has an out-of-this-world general store with food you don't expect to find in the woods; Readsboro General Store is a must-see, and sandwiches/salads you'll come back for! Readsboro Inn is the perfect place for an easy drive for drinks, a burger, or pizza, if you please!

My husband and I had an amazing time camping, despite the rainy weather we had. The campsite has a beautiful view and stream a short walk away from the cabin. We would definitely stay here again!

What a wonderful and beautiful spot. A perfect view from the fire pit for morning coffee or an evening drink.The cabin is well constructed and decorated nicely. A very comfortable matress. One day I went was very rainy and the cabin has a metal roof, so a bit loud that evening. I cooked outside on my coleman stove on a provided table. Its a slight sloop down to the cabin, but at 62 I had no issues.
If one is into bird watching, I counted 21 different species just around the cabin. Mostly the usual suspects, but Northern Flickers, Common Yellow Throats, Black & White Warblers, Baltimore Orioles and I believe White Crowned Sparrows. A very great area down by the stream, all you need to do is stand still and let them come.
I was in the area for the 250th Annaversary of the taking of Fort Ticonderoga. Make sure to visit Skene Manor. Also if you have time walk around Whitehall, Birthplace of the American Navy and a Bigfoot sanctuary city.
Be prepared to bring all you need, outside supplies may be a bit of a drive for those not used to rural living. Dan the host was very friendly and supportive. He's working on the solar shower set up, but being solo I didn't need that aminity.
Make sure to say Hi to Hamburg the Cow.

Sowilo Retreat is such a treasured find. Hunor and the Sowilo team were unbelievably kind and welcoming. The tiny home we stayed in was clean and beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. I’ll be thinking about this place for a long time as I prepare to come back!!!
