Weekend Trip to Hemlock Cabin

We spent two nights at this magical little house, and I think it’s the first time I’ve truly missed a place after leaving. Everything was thoughtfully crafted — you can feel the love and talent of the people who built it with their own hands. From the smallest kitchen details to the balcony overlooking the creek, and the shower with a floor-to-ceiling window facing the forest — it’s all just perfect. Weekend Trip to Bison Island Ranch

Staying in the tipi was such a great experience. It is cozy inside and comfortable for two people in the bottom bunk! The tipi was pretty spacious and Susan provided some little goodies upon arrival. We were right on the pond that was lovely to swim in and jump off the dock. There was a fire pit to take advantage of and a grill too! The bison were on a different part of a farm, which was disappointing, but we still had some view of them. The stars were beautiful too! Overall it was a great stay with, hikes, farms and towns a drive away. As long as you have bug spray, we’d certainly recommend it.

The property is spectacular & serene, quiet and location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. The cabin and outhouse were clean and well taken care of. The outdoor shower had plenty of hot water for a sunrise shower.

Weekend Trip to Teardrop Glamper w/ Lake Access!

Very cool little camper! If you’re tall, it is a little difficult getting in and out/sleeping, but it was definitely comfy and we loved the fire pit. We weren’t able to get to the lake, in the future it might be helpful to leave directions on how we can appropriately get there and access the kayaks. We stayed during the crazy storm and were thankful to be in a safe and neat spot!

Amazing! Is an understatement! The yurt is completely equipped for everything you could possibly need! I noticed sunrise from the bed, which was amazing! Big fan of the soaking tub and big fan of the heated toilet seat!! All in all incredible spot!! Totally what we needed a weekend away in peace!

Enjoy rustic camping on our 115 acres of upstate NY forest. We are just a short drive to Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame and the summer baseball camps as well as the other museums that it has to offer. Howe Caverns in Cobleskill is also about 30 minutes away as well. The property consists of a mixture of upland hardwoods (mainly Oak, Maple and Cherry) with scattered stands of Red Pine, White Spruce, Hemlock and two open fields/pastures. There are also the occasional conifers scattered about just to keep things interesting. The majority of the property is gently sloping from the South up towards the North. The is also a nice ridge on the NE corner of the property to aid in topographic diversity. One of the fields is a seven acre hay field and the other is a five acre food plot planted in clover, chicory and other grasses. This field has also been recently planted with Apples, Pear, American Plum, Red Osier Dogwood, Persimmon, Red Mulberry, Chinese Chestnut, and Hazelnuts. These are all young at this time but will start to provide diversity and wildlife interest in the coming years. Wildlife abounds here at the homestead. Whitetail Deer and Eastern Wild Turkey are very common to see. We also have a variety of small animals as well such as Red and Grey Squirrels, Raccoons, Porcupine, Opossum, Fisher etc. For the birders, we have Barred and Great Horned Owls and Red Tailed Hawks. It is also not uncommon to see Bald Eagles soaring over the fields looking for their next meal. All of the property is easily accessible via our extensive trail system. There is also another 187 acres that borders our land that also has trails that would allow hiking. We have detailed maps so that getting lost would be the least of your worries. Reflections Homestead

I am Karl and with my wife Danielle together we own 10 acres of peacefully settled forest on the edge of over 10,000 acres of State Forest land. It is on a seasonal road. I have no registered address, but a small sign marks my access road as Jacob Lane. This is a tribute to my friends. The Amish that helped me build our off-grid cabin. It is very quiet here, but we are an active homestead and work starts at 9am every day, we do our best to be considerate and ask the same from you. The forest rangers and DEC officers that patrol here keep a tight rein on the forest and its preservation. We have one guest cabin and several places a tent or RV can park. There are no hookups. Please bring some potable water. We do have spring water available but it's a drive. I first came here about 15 years ago. I would like to try and see if others would enjoy what we have made our lives. I do like to talk and although I don't lie, stretching the truth is an artform I have perfected so be prepared. There is a state-run beach and picnic area about 3 minute drive away on the Hinkley Reservoir. And a few other bodies of water to kayak and fish. We have Kayaks for use at an extra cost. We are about 15 to 20 minutes away from the Herkimer Diamond Mines. You can bike, hike, nature watch or just enjoy the peacefulness of the tree you chose to sit against. Down and ready firewood is everywhere if you want to bend over and pick it up. You can possess firearms on the property, but you may not discharge one without prior approval unless it's to save your life or that of another. There are places not far away that you can legally shoot and enjoy yourself. There are traditional outhouses on the property and for those that know how cat holing is allowed. Ask if unsure. No dumping tanks or portable toilets anywhere and that includes the outhouses. The state of New York has facilities at campgrounds that do a proper job with that type of waste. During the night temperatures can drop, even in the summer time. There is a small wood tent stove to help take out the chill. Please be careful with the stove and don't build large fires. We provide the fire wood. Even though the stove can get warm we recommend all guests bring extra clothing and sleeping bags to supplement the linens and blankets what we already provide. The property itself is shared with the cabin on top of the hill. If you book the tent only then please note that you may be sharing the property with guests from the cabin. This includes the 1-acre spring fed pond and apple orchard. There is enough space for all as you can see from the photos, but if you find yourself wanting complete privacy for your group then booking both the cabin and glamping site together is the better option for you. I have a very long, skinny driveway with no way to turn around, and there is nowhere to to park something as large as a trailer. The camp site is not accessible by car. You'll have to park in the driveway and then bring your gear back to the site, which is about a 2 minute walk. All vehicles must be parked in the driveway. We do have a wagon if you need it to carry your gear. We have animals on the property, including roosters who start crowing at sun up. Plan on being up early :)
