4 nights at Hussey Mountain Tree Farm

We loved camping at Hussey Mountain! One of our favorite Hip Camps by far. The land is gorgeous and full of wildlife (newts, toads, different birds, berries, rare flowers, and so much more). Each campsite is private and thoughtfully designed with all of the important amenities you need (or want!) for a short or long stay. There's plenty to do on the mountain to keep you busy, and lots of exciting attractions in the area. Eben is an excellent host too. A kind and easy-going guy who wants his campers to have the best time possible. We'll definitely be back and we recommend any of the campsites on Hussey Mountain.

It’s hard to know where to start with this review, because this location is a true gem in every sense. I was taken back with how charming the forest was and how it changed character as you would visit all of the fun detours along the trail or come across unique art. The camping situation is wonderful, offering realistic accommodation such as water and other standard camping supplies like picnic tables in an area that would be hard to bring these things to. You will feel a true sense of seclusion and safety on the property. It is definitely a place that feels welcoming. I’m grateful that this place exists and is managed by a wonderful host. You wouldn’t regret enjoying a trip here.

This was the best Hipcamp experience I have ever had. The property is absolutely stunning. The owners were so lovely and went out of their way to be incredibly helpful and kind. We will 100% be coming back and telling all of our friends about this amazing slice of good vibes.

Weekend Trip to Hussey Mountain Tree Farm

This is a gorgeous property with amazing views from the top! Trails are carefully maintained so despite the heavy rain one can still walk easily. Sites are extremely private so you truly feel you are camping in the wilderness. The climb up is very steep so I would highly recommend you take advantage of the offer to haul your gear to the site, especially if you are a senior like me! Eben is a delightful host who goes out of his way to accommodate any needs or wants.

We had a fantastic experience staying at Oak Terrace at Hussey Mountain Tree Farm. The site was very clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully set up. The views were absolutely gorgeous — truly a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. There are so many things to do right on site, from hiking trails to peaceful spots for just unwinding. Despite being so quiet and secluded, it’s also conveniently close to town, which made it super easy to grab anything we needed. This place offers the best of both worlds: tranquility and convenience. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Although it’s not exactly camping season yet— I was determined to spend a night out in the wilderness with my pup Koda. I am so glad Sacred Nectar Sanctuary was my first pick! I can’t imagine how much more beautiful and fun it is during the summertime!!! Such a peaceful and absolutely beautiful place, from the labyrinth and fairy forest to the sauna and community kitchen!!! This place has everything you could need. Views were spectacular and I had the opportunity to check out the secrets of the other campsites as I was the only one there. Nick was really nice and helpful answering any questions that I had, and it was great hearing of the plans that are in the works for the place!! Koda had a blast with Chaga, the owner’s dog, and he was such a sweetheart!!! I’m so glad my dog made a friend. We also enjoyed walking the trails on the property, and exploring the amazing woods of NH! I felt perfectly at home staying at my site and wish I could’ve stayed longer!! I will definitely be returning in the near future!!

The site was spacious, well kept, and felt very private! We were lucky and no one had booked the A frame site, which is close by, but the trees provide a good amount of privacy. Ryan responded quickly to questions. Definitely would recommend!

John was a gracious and communicative host. He and his family have a beautiful parcel that abutts the Andoscoggin river. Although it was rainy during our stay we enjoyed canoeing and fishing on the river, and some nature walks on their expansive property. We were fortunate enough to see a beautiful rainbow, and a bald eagle during our stay. It's also a great place for dogs to run loose. Do bring yourself some bug spray to keep the ticks at bay and remember to check your pooch for those pesky bugs!

We had a fantastic weekend at the Slippery Rock Cabin! John & Janet were extremely welcoming & informative, and the property was incredibly well maintained. We had a great canoe ride, rode our mountain bikes out to the pond and around the property, and our kids (3 & 4) enjoyed biking the fields and exploring. The tiny cabin was cozy, comfortable and had everything we needed!

Nick was very helpful and welcoming. This site had a great view and it was secluded. After several strenuous hikes, I used the sauna followed by a cold plunge in the river next to it. It was very refreshing. This is a lovely place and I’d totally recommend it!

Weekend Trip to Streeter Mountain Farm

Well received and taking care of. Located in a quiet street, far from city vibe. Main house is the hub for bathroom, you can use the amazing community kitchen for a reasonable fee. This farm is an hidden gem if you want to disconnect from the life of the city and see was really is a homestead. Can ride MTB trails, from the site directly. We slept in the bluebus, with minimalist equipment and a wood stove. That was super relaxing, surrounded by the woods. Highly Recommended

1 night at Horseshoe Bend NH

We stayed @ the VERY private Site #1 (furthest upstream), and within minutes of arriving, a mature bald eagle took flight from a nearby fishing-spot tree. We tried our luck (none) @ fishing, threw the frisbee in the huge field, hammocked, and grilled fish/chips and baby knotweed over the open fire, followed by reflector oven apple crisp. Plenty of tenting options off the platform and easy access to the sparkling water, where there's a deep soaking pool for those hot summer days. Kevin is an excellent host and responsive to any inquiries. Would return to camp here in a nanosecond if the opportunity avails itself!

1 night at Secluded Camp Convenient Location

Their location was very close to hiking and shopping/restaurants. After dinner, we returned and started a fire where we enjoyed s’mores for our dessert. It was a beautiful and relaxing night’s stay. Ryan was a gracious host by checking in with us but still gave us our privacy. Thanks!

2 nights at Stagecoach Falls

Excellent camping experience! You’ll be sleeping just feet from the river and the sound of it rushing by in mid-spring really lulls you to sleep. Perfect placement of the fire pit, really nice to have a large gravel area when it rained a bit and not get all muddy, fresh water spigot and even electrical hook-up right on site. Despite the away-from-it-all feeling, there are actually a few good restaurants within 5 miles—including Hobbs Brewery. White Lake State Park is only 10 minutes away where you can rent canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. Kevin has done a great job creating an excellent Hipcamp property. I really hope to be back!

Watersrock Woods Campsites are private tent and remote camping locations in the beautiful Southern Maine forest. One site is a remote tent site with spots for multiple tents. It has a picnic table and fire pit. The other site is a larger space with a little more privacy and spaces for multiple tents. It has a propane barbecue grill, picnic table, fire pit, hammock, outdoor patio set with umbrella with seating for 6. There are lots of pine trees and both sites are partially surrounded with large 6' natural berms creating additional privacy. The Property is adjacent to a small brook which is great for fishing and relaxing. There are some swimming holes in the Little Ossipee River which is located a short walking distance from the camp site. Very peaceful. Great for camping, fishing, glamping or relaxing! Three primitive campsites for outdoor recreationalists and bikers are situated in an unmowed field at the trail head of the Victory Hill Trail Club’s, a public recreational trail network on private land surrounded by thousands of acres of conserved land and State forest. Learn more about this land: Camp trailside in the heart of the internationally acclaimed Victory Hill Sector trail system. Open to mountain biking and public hiking in the summer. These primitive campsites are in a mountain field overlooking New Hampshire's White Mountains. Trail connections link the network with Kingdom Trails in East Burke and gravel routes to New Hampshire and the rest of Vermont. Camp and ride: An ideal location for evening ride after you set up camp. Eat, sleep, ride ! Porta-potties are located 100 yards below the campsites. Moose, bear, deer, coyote, snowshoe hares, grouse, woodcock, wild turkey and bobcat, can be seen occasionally as you explore this upland forest and the bottom lands heading down to the Victory Bog, a pristine wetland areas, known for canoeing, bird watching. Kayakers and campers can experience white white water during high water seasons on the Moose River which flows by the bog. The access road to the campsites through the field is rough. Vehicles with extra clearance are recommended. Campers should come prepared with fly, mosquito, tick repellents without which you will be literally eaten alive in June and July. After mid-August the insects are less vexing. Obtain drinking water from our office manager at 2428 Victory Hill Rd. and bathe somewhere in Weir Mill Brook, 1/2 mile from the campsite - if you need to get clean. Camp Ebb and Flow is located on the western edge of the White Mountains, near the crossing of the Appalachian Trail and a short drive to VT. Three lakes nearby for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Hiking trails nearby. The camp offers RV sites with water, electricity, and sewer, an RV site with no hookups, and several tent sites. One of the tent sites has water and electricity and another has electricity with nearby water. There is bathhouse with two toilets and two vanities as well as a shower with changing room. Potable water is also available from a spigot at the bathhouse. There are over six acres of mowed fields for activities and walking. There is also a lovely brook running through the property with many areas you can cool off in from the summer heat. This property has a lengthy history going back to colonial times. It’s been a farm, an apple orchard, and once had a sawmill. Please check the calendar for available dates. Check-in is no later than 9pm unless late arrival arrangements have been made prior to booking. Whenever possible, try to arrive before dark because there are no lights at most sites, which can make setup difficult. A note regarding electric vehicles (EV): If you have an electric vehicle and would like to tent camp, please select one of our full hookup RV sites. If you have the proper electric adapter for your vehicle, you can charge your vehicle at the 30A RV plug while tenting in the field near the RV site. We do not supply these adapters, and we cannot allow you to charge your vehicle unless you have reserved an RV site with full hookups. ATFS Certified Tree Farm Est. 2004 Camp with your group at our private Tree Farm / Conservation / Recreation Area. Established in 2004, we are an 87 acre ATFS certified Tree Farm located in the Blue Hills Range in the Foothills to NH’s White Mountains. Choose from one of four unique sites / outdoor spaces to best fit your camping needs; book a combination to reserve a section of the mountain, or book all four sites for total privacy or for events. Our Farm spans the northerly side of Hussey Mountain from the base to the summit. Guests are provided with private access to several miles of multi-use nature trails, multiple scenic lookouts, a three acre PYO blueberry maze, and a dock on our private eight acre pond with available boat rentals. At the 2WD shared parking area guests are provided with a outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a portable toilet, garden hose for washing, a power strip for charging devices, and a spigot with potable water for filling containers. Over two decades ago we created our first campsite for the purpose of hosting family and friends. Folks enjoyed camping on the mountain so much they often would choose our farm over traditional campgrounds. Hosting campers became a regular weekend event, and to accommodate more people we created three more sites spread out across the property. In 2020, we came across the Hipcamp app and started offering private reservations to the public. Since, we have been hosting campers on a daily basis and continuously improving our sites / infrastructure / views. We’re excited to see what the next two decades hold; come join us on the mountain! Things to do on the mountain SPRING-FALL include… Hiking on several miles of maintained nature trails marked with clear signage for easy day/night navigation. Relaxing/taking in the scenery from several scenic lookouts located on and around the mountain’s summit; combined they provide a 360-degree view spanning from the NH/ME Seacoast to the White Mountains of NH, to the Green Mountains of VT. The Queen's Property on Thomas Pond

THOMAS POND Thomas Pond is a beautiful 533-acre freshwater pond with over 7.4 miles of shoreline. Thomas Pond’s maximum depth is 64 feet, and the mean depth is 22 feet. Our guests are welcome to kayak, canoe, swim, fish, and paddle board from the shores of The Queen’s Property, or one of 5 Right of Ways on Watkins Shores Road owned by our Association. Access to your private waterfront is a short stroll through our woods. As our guest staying at The Queen's Property, you will also have free access to the Watkins Shores Road Association's boat launch. The boat launch is just a two or three minute walk down the road from your site. Our new dock is available to dock your boat during the day.. However, there is a small fee to dock your boat overnight (see "Extras") at our site. Just make sure you check for Milfoil or any other invasive plants before launching. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS NEAR CAMP Within 5 minutes of camp, you will find all the essentials, including food items, ice, firewood, goodies, gas, and RV supplies. In fact, you can even order your groceries online for pickup, (free at Hannaford Brothers Grocery and Walmart) either on your way to your campsite or when you need to resupply your camp (we would be happy to give you the details). Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. Naples sits smack-dab in the middle of the Sebago Lakes Region. Sebago Lake abuts its western border and Long Lake abuts its eastern border. A short 8-minute drive from your site, Naples spoils its visitors with boat rentals, waterfront shops, and awesome restaurants. Further north is the Town of Bridgton. NEARBY STATE PARKS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES If your idea of exploring is centered around outdoor activities, then Sebago Lake State Park is a 1,342-acre park that abuts the shores of Sebago Lake. It's one of Maine’s most popular parks. Located in the towns of Casco and Naples, the park is open year-round and is less than a 10 minute drive from your campsite. Within the park, you will enjoy protected forests, bike paths, and Sebago Lake beaches. Sebago Lake is a deep glacial lake, and by itself is 44 square miles of clear waters that abut Sebago Lake State Park. The park and the lake host some of Maine's’ best sandy beaches, water sports, fishing, boating, boat rentals, camping, picnic areas, boat launches, extensive woodlands, a wide array of critters, hiking trails, and walking trails. Hidden Brook At Merrifield Farm

Hidden Brook is located on a small family-owned vegetable farm five minutes outside the village of Cornish, Maine. Three generations of farmers live here presently, but our family has been working this land since the mid 1700’s. Cornish is a pretty special place to live and visit because we are about 50 minutes drive from both the city of Portland on the coast and the White Mountains to the west. There are tons of local hikes here in the foothills, two big rivers to float or paddle, dozens of swim spots, good fishing and a lively little village with at least 7 antiques shops, local art and some pretty darn good restaurants. Our neighborhood even hosts some of the best musicians in the world each July at The Ossippee Valley Music Festival. Yeah, we got it all going on! Come play with us or just chill at Hidden Brook. So far, we have one spot open for “glamping”, The Bus, but will add The Vardo and two more sites as finances and our aging farmer bodies allow. The Bus, an engineless 1973 Bluebird School bus is pretty pimped out. Though off the grid, cell reception is pretty good and rechargable lighting is provided. Our outdoor kitchen, on a spacious deck, includes a heavy duty propane stove, Yeti cooler and pots and pans. Indoors, there’s a slop-bucket sink for dish washing and tooth-brushing, a small woodstove to take off the chill come fall and a nice big fire pit outside. Buses can get hot in summer, so we put ours in a shady little grove of ancient oaks amongst the remains of the farm’s original stonework and installed screens the full length of the bus. We built a compost-style outhouse and a beautiful outdood shower we call “The Cold Drizzler” down in the old homestead cellar hole. Kind of a secret garden bathroom : ) Inside is a full-sized bed for one or two people and two cot-sized “75 long bunks, sleeping a total of four humans. Quality mattresses, sheets and blankets with a change of sheets and tons of pillows ought to provide a comfortable night’s sleep. Four towels provided. Coffee and “pour-overs” on site as well as silverware, bowls and plates. All you really need is ice for the cooler and your food - or just go out to eat. Other things to note: Absolutely no smoking inside All shoes off before entering Quiet hours from 9:30 pm to 6:30 am ( we live in a small community and wish to respect our neighbors ) This is not a party camp, but a place to relax and listen to the birds. Please enjoy your music quietly. This is a working farm, but we will be as sensitive as possible when it comes to any loud machinery use like irrigation pumps and tractors while guests are around. Our dogs may visit, but are laid back once they have anounced your arrival. Directions to Hidden Brook and the Bus: You will be given directions to an address once you book but please make sure that you follow the signage to the bus carefully, otherwise you’ll end up at the wrong property. Drive until you see two giant, eyeballs attached to a telephone pole, and the bus will be immediately after that on your right. Thank you so much.

TOAD HALL

Toad Hall is a heated, one room, 8x8 cabin in Harrison, Maine, with access to the Bear River for wading and swimming (depending on the river height.) There is a firepit at the cabin, along with one down by the river. Firewood is provided. The lower area by the river is a beautiful place to hang out, pitch hammocks etc... The cabin is near the road, which is great for loading in and loading out, but you will hear/see cars drive by. (Read our reviews, we stand by them!) There is no running water or bathroom on the property so we ask you bring a camping potty and do not bury human waste. The Bear River, which is a beautiful spot to swim and wade in, runs right through the property- but it's also drinking water and a protected watershed. Again, please make sure you have a camping potty plan. Cabin Features: There are 2 cots inside, but also feel free to bring your own pads/bedding... Heat is provided via a propane Buddy Heater as needed (smoke/carbon dioxide detector is in the cabin.) There are solar lights inside, along with a USB plug to charge small devices. It is a clean, warm, dry room, with beautiful light and good ventilation with the windows cracked. Nearby places you will like: We are within walking distance to downtown restaurants and public swimming area on Long Lake. There's also porto potties next to the walkable country store, which has everything you forgot to bring. Also a great ice cream shack, and an above-average watering hole, The Olde Mill Tavern. This is a self check-in/out, so expect an easy arrival process (and we'll ask you to please leave the property prepared for the next guest to arrive.)
