Quiet and peaceful island in Duncan Lake, Ossipee, NH. Fall asleep listening to the loons, and wake up to beautiful sunrises! Approximately half an acre with plenty of level spots for tenting, great fishing (lake is stocked with trout), and excellent swimming. Property has a flat top Blackstone propane griddle (propane not provided) and picnic table. Lots of hiking opportunities in the immediate area. Given the location, potential renters MUST have a canoe/kayak to access the land from the public beach. There are no restroom facilities of any kind, so please be prepared to pack in/pack out your preferred solution. Enjoy the serenity of this unique island oasis! Available May 1st - Oct 31st only. Parking is available at the public beach (Cleveland Beach).Enjoy peaceful nights under the stars at this unique island in New Hampshire! Fall asleep listening to the loons, and wake up to beautiful sunrises. Swim, fish, and paddle to your heart’s content (the lake has a 6mph speed limit; gas motors are not prohibited but electric and trolling motors or paddles are encouraged to maintain a peaceful atmosphere). There are 3 access points on the island to land/launch, and a public boat launch at the bottom of Harper’s Ferry Landing Rd. Parking is available at the public beach (Cleveland Beach). Property has a large fire pit and plenty of wood available to burn, along with a large flat top Blackstone griddle (please provide your own propane). This quiet little lake was a favorite spot of Grover Cleveland, and the aptly named Cleveland Beach offers great swimming at the opposite end of the lake. Loon sightings are common, and we ask that if any evidence of nesting is observed that you please not disturb. Enjoy!

Duncan Lake Island
Be prepared to take multiple trips across the lake if you bring lots of supplies. The canoe ride to the island was amazing and calming, and it was great to take the canoe out and just enjoy the ride. The island, the sunsets and rises, and the views of the mountains make this spot absolutely gorgeous. There are lots and lots of frogs that take shelter here, and it’s extremely soothing to fall asleep to them. There are many things to do around here, and it’s a perfect location. Many mountains less than a half hours drive away, many stores for all your needs right off the coast, and the lake, although populated with many houses around, was very quiet and relaxing. There’s not a negative thing I can say about this trip. Levi was extremely nice and patient with the constant and annoying questions some friends and I had, he’s an amazing host.

Beautiful island
We loved camping on the lake. We had an amazing time. We saw a few harmless water snakes, a nesting loon, ospreys, turtles, and frogs. There was plenty of firewood and a picnic table. The campsite was clean and flat. Would definitely recommend, and would love to stay again in the future
