West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and
cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! They hope you enjoy their place as much as they do! Feel free to ask them to show you around or even get your hands dirty with them as they plant or harvest.

Enjoy a peaceful escape on our private 1-acre lot, perfect for tent camping or RVs. The site includes an electric hook-up, outhouse, and a dedicated fire pit for campfires under the stars. Surrounded by woods on either side, it offers a quiet, semi-secluded spot for nature lovers.
A short trail (400 feet or a little over a football field) leads through the forest to the Snake River, where you’ll find a second fire pit with chairs, solar lighting, and a private dock that is share with just our cabin and then campsite. If you are tenting, you can tent at the river but do not drive on the trail except for atvs. The river is great for fishing, swimming, canoeing, or kayaking, and can accommodate small boats. Multiple public boat landings are located up and down the river for easy access.
The property lines are outlined in the overview picture. Please do not go to the west of the trail to provide ample space for privacy with our neighbors. The red on the map is the camping area with electricity and outhouse. Our personal log cabin is the blue dot but there is a significant tree line in between. If we are there, we are happy to give you a tour. The blue line is the trail. The white area is our property on the river and available for tent only or to hang out for the day if you choose to camp up top. The purple area is where the goats are busy eating. Come and visit them!
While the site does not have running water, you’ll be camping right next to our family cabin, and we’re happy to help with anything you might need. We also have friendly goats on the property that guests are welcome to visit!
There’s also plenty to explore nearby. Just minutes away, Braham offers a quirky “hole-in-the-wall” bowling alley and some charming local shops. Head north to Pine City for more options, including restaurants, a larger grocery store, and additional shopping. History buffs will enjoy visiting the Snake River Trading Post, a Minnesota historical site. And if you’re in the mood for a local treat, Sapsucker Farms is a nearby cidery open on weekends, often hosting live music, food trucks, and hiking trails. Ask your hosts for even more ideas—they’re happy to share local favorites!

I loved camping in Dan's yurt campsite! The walk from the car is perfect, just long enough to feel like you are really out there camping! The views walking to the bathroom in the fall were just gorgeous! Speaking of the bathroom don't be scared off by the composting toilet. Dan provides plenty of woodchips/sawdust to cover everything up and there is no odor! The bbq grill and bonfire ring are great to have options. The picnic table seats plenty of people.
It rained a bit while we were there and everything in the tent stayed dry thanks to the extra plastic Dan has placed over the top of the yurt.
Dan is so kind and generous and feels like going over to a friend's house to camp. Can't wait to return next year!

Dan is a wonderful host and owns some absolutely gorgeous land. I will be back! Be prepared for a small but beautiful hike out to your camp site. Bathrooms are as good as it gets, tents are huge and the bonus of not needing to setup is amazing, and the access to one of the most beautiful state parks is uncanny. If you have the legs for it I would absolutely recommend touring this area on bike. The descent into Taylor’s falls is one of the best in the state, the climb out of the city will have your legs woken up, and the nearby Swedish Immigrant Trail is beautiful especially in the Fall.

Lazy River campsite was a beautiful location for our family to camp! It was only an hour from the metro area but felt like we were much further out and was very private. There was plenty of space for multiple tents right along the river with a nice fire pit area, kayak and canoe, hammock, and picnic table. It would have been tricky moving all our gear to and from our car to the river area but the hosts were so helpful and assisted us with their 4-wheeler. There was an option to camp right next to the vehicles but we wanted to be next to the water. Outhouse was clean and stocked. Would definitely recommend!

Great little getaway about an hour from the twin cities. Camping area and riverside hang out were both lovely. The hosts were responsive, kind, and helpful. We had a great time sitting by the fire, exploring the river on the canoe, and just hanging out on the riverbank. Campsite was clean and level, easy to park in, and outhouse was super clean!
Pro tip: when navigating in, the actual entrance is a bit past where GPS points you. Go PAST the property with the red gate, past the next drive, and then you’ll see the clearing with the outhouse.

This is more than just camping! Dan is a wonderful host and my 10 year old loved talking with him and learning about the orchard. This was a mother/son trip and I loved having the yurt already set up. It is a little walk to the site, but I appreciated God's beauty in the early morning and at dusk to fetch our food that we left in the car. Being at Stone Creek Farm was so much more than we expected. Looking forward to visiting again! Highly recommended!

This site was perfect!! We have a new pop up trailer that we took out for the first time and it was a fantastic experience! The electrical hook up was conveniently located in the first site area. There is also a tent or boondock site down by the river that you can choose to camp at. Both areas have nice fire pits and wood. Anne and her husband were wonderful! Thanks again!! Will be returning!

One of our nicest camping trips - this is a great site! It was just the secluded, quiet retreat we were looking for. Hosts were friendly and responsive and accommodating, and full of great recommendations for other things to do in the area (we did some hiking at Banning State Park and some fishing with their tips). The goats are adorable - and contrary to one of the other reviewers, we almost never heard them. Kids had a blast on the river, and we loved letting our dog off-leash for our stay. This is a newer listing on HipCamp, and is sure to be a popular one.

Just got the chance to visit this place with my family — and wow, what an experience! When we first arrived and saw some nearby homes, I didn’t expect it to feel very private… but I was totally wrong. This ended up being one of the best camping spots I’ve ever been to.
You get a lot of privacy right next to the lake, and they let you use their canoe, kayak, and splash pad. The kids swam all day in the lake and had an absolute blast. There’s even a fireplace by the lake — we saw deer on the drive in, and later that night, two owls were just sitting nearby while we hung out by the fire. Super cool.
The walk to the campsite is about 6 minutes, and the outhouse was surprisingly clean and didn’t smell. The hosts were really friendly — stopped by to say hi but gave us plenty of space to relax and do our thing.
This place is perfect for big groups, couples, or even solo trips. Overall, a great experience. I’d be happy to come back again.

Overall it was a great experience for us! I will say the trail leading down to the river was quite hard to navigate at night, more lighting on the trail at night would help to lead to the outhouse area much better the only other thing we would of enjoyed was if the goats were elsewhere because they were pretty loud and you could hear them majority of the time. Otherwise great experience would definitely go back!
