Walked into the site from the road. Looked like a great place, but obviously nothing I could fit a class C rv into. A good drive trimming would have made it work. Messaged the owner who was very understanding and quickly got me a refund. So great to work with, just check your fit.

Read this before you book

I tried to stay here almost 1 1/2 years ago and was told there was no power due to vandalism. I did not stay and appreciated the honesty. Fast forward to April 2026, they let me know there is still no power, I said I could do without and stayed anyway. The listing says there are two bathrooms, not sure what happened to them but there were not bathrooms. The picnic table was smashed by a fallen tree, and the grounds were in much need of up keep. It’s a safe quiet site with a lovely lake, the posting needs to be updated or they need to improve the sight to match the listing.

Camp needs maintenance

We had a difficult time finding the entrance as the address listed by the host did not line up with the entrance. Once we were in contact with our host (after driving down several wrong muddy unpaved wooded areas) we located the correct gate. The area was a bit overgrown and could use some grass trimming to make the entrance more noticeable. Upon entering we noticed that a tree had fallen completely obstructing our path. We tried to walk in the rest of the way but once we reached the first campsite we quickly realized that the site looked like it had not been maintained or prepped for our arrival. The host did note the electricity and pond were not usable and swimable, But the pond was more of an overgrown swampy woodland which made it very buggy and gave off a completely different vibe then the pictures noted. We were not able to access our campsite due to the fallen tree so we ended up getting our trip refunded by the host. Overall this would be an excellent spot once some maintenance happens and the directions on locating the entrance gate get ironed out. But I would not recommend staying here until that happens.

Magical Setting with a Few Rough Ed

There were some truly magical moments here—the sunset over the pond was stunning, and the nighttime sounds of nature were beautifully undisturbed. I found two perfect trees for my hammock in the shade, and the outdoor shower was a refreshing touch. Communication with the host was fantastic—super responsive both before and during my stay, which made things much easier. I appreciated being able to order firewood ahead of time. Most of the wood by the fire pit was damp, but the dry bundle that was included burned hot enough to get the rest going. A few things did take away from the natural vibe: the pond was too algae-filled to swim comfortably, and the plastic jugs, random porch clutter, and a rusted table and chair disrupted the wild aesthetic. Highway noise was noticeable at times, and it took a minute to figure out which gate to use. Still, if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with some real beauty and don’t mind a little rustic imperfection, this spot delivers.

Terrible campsite

Site 1 - Private pond camping

Completely misadvertised. Pond is covered in algae not even possible to fish let alone swim. The host has terrible communication completely over charges and misadvertised the site. The toilet is in a very out of level trailer and doesn’t flush. The shower is barely a trickle of water. Don’t get fooled. This place isn’t worth camping at for 20 bucks.

Our host was great and communicative! The trailer with the toilet was great it also was nice to have the trailer to store food and things we didn’t want to get wet overnight. We didn’t really understand the shower situation. They did provide clean drinking water for us though! The grass around the site and even in the site was pretty tall and being right next to the pond was very buggy - we found lots of ticks and had to deet up! It’s relatively close to the road so there was a decent amount of car noises but not too bad. It was very private. The cabin that they were doing construction on there was a little creepy. Overall - there’s not a lot of sites near Hastings and considering we were on bicycles and couldn’t get much further off the bike path - this was pretty decent!

This is a nice private area, there is noise from the road and trains but it was not really bothersome. It was great waking up and seeing ducks on the pond. We will return!

Beautiful property

We were in a desperate situation when we requested the reservation. Theresa was very kind and helped us locating the property and stayed on the phone with us until we caught hooked up and settled. We only stayed for a total 9 hrs max but from we saw it is beautiful. They say location location location. This property has that wow factor. Although hard to find it’s worth the journey.

All other reviews are accurate. It’s a beautiful spot with no interruptions or other people. The host was amazing answering all our questions. Lot could be cleaned a little but it is still one of the best spots if you like privacy.

We stayed at this super nice PRIVATE site, there was no one else there and it was just what we needed to get away. It's close enough to a town to still be able to get things you may have forgot but feels like your in the middle of no where. The host was super nice and replied to my messages, she really wanted to make sure we had what we needed ie. Fire wood and electric. It's the perfect spot to enjoy real camping. And the sunset was amazing.

Camp site was very lush and private, and close to Hastings, however if you are sensitive to road noise there is heavy traffic on the county road next to the property as it is a major conduit for the local casino. There was around the clock cars going by that detracted our enjoyment of the scenery. The Pond is pretty murky in late summer so swimming was not advisable. Lastly we opted to use the electricity offered by the host. Unfortunately the power went out late at night, we didn't bother reaching out to the host due to the late hour and we were leaving in the am. All in all I am not sure the value was there for our stay, I liked the remote feel but the grounds were unkempt and littered with cigarette butts, that and the road noise will likely keep us from returning.

Winter time on 8 acres

Theresa’s 8 acres of land was great. There was electrical hook-up close to the cabin I stayed when it was still winter out so I didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I could of. There is a private pond. I have a 27’ travel trailer and I backed it in easy to the spot. Quite and I liked the location. Fire pits available and Teresa was very kind and helpful.

Needs work/has potential

has potential but not there yet. Also way over priced- $75 per site. BUT if this were cleaned up and maintained there are possibilities here! could be a really nice space- Pond is more of a green swamp, so swimming or canoeing in this-- meh. Cement abandoned building on site is run down with debris in it and around it. Had to clean up crushed cans to put down the tent (basically not a well maintained site). The site next to the pond is very close and nothing separating them (good thing we liked our neighbors).

Private camp in a great spot!

The campsite was great with fresh class 5 gravel; it was fairly easy to get in, but the angle is a bit weird with the toilet trailer and a tree, but we got in. We camped here so we could kayak on the Vermillion and then go to a concert at Treasure Island. Very easy to get to both - camp is between two landings less than a mile away, each. There is an old cabin on the spot and the owner still seems to be developing the camp; it's got great potential to be a great spot, although there is for sure some cleaning up to do in the woods around the area. There is some road noise, but not bad - for such a private spot, easy to get to launches, or for casino fun, this is a great spot!

Pros: There’s definitely privacy with a private pond and a trailer with a bathroom. Cons: There's an unkept shed or home next to the pond. It's a bit of an eyesore for me.
