3 nights at Twin Folk Farms

We had such a a great time at the cabin! With 4 adults and two dogs, we didn't feel over crowded at all. We swam in the rush river one day and had a board game day inside while it rained. So peaceful, thank you Darla! Hope to get back in the fall for some cooler temps and more fishing.

Amy is a great host. Communication and directions were perfect. The property is spectacular very close to state park and nice trails to walk. Nice little get away for the weekend. I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you!

2 nights at Prairie View Camp

Cynthia was kind enough to take our last-minute July 4th weekend reservation and help us get settled after we arrived. Her property is so peaceful and gorgeous! We had never camped in the driftless part of Wisconsin, and it was the perfect launching off place for exploring the Great River Road and 2 state parks (Willow River and Kinnickinnic). The beautiful sunrises and sunsets were a great way to start and end our days. As we left, we were treated with a double rainbow too! :-)

We had a great stay at the Serenity Valley cabin! It’s a beautiful and very comfortable spot - a double bed on the first floor with a cozy fireplace, a couple of chairs and a cot. The host also left a lantern, first aid kit, additional trash bags, toilet paper and paper towels. Upstairs in the small loft area are two extra beds but it was way too hot up there during our stay. Out in the porch there is a couple more places to sit and a big table that helps with any food prepping + some basic cooking utensils (metal spatula, tongs, etc). Loved waking up to all the birds singing and watching the fireflies right outside at nightime! The hosts generosity, recommendations about activities onsite and surrounding areas and comfortable amenities make this place a step up from your regular camping. The fireplace was our favorite spot, 10/10 would recommend!

Very nice place with kind hosts. The scenery and wildlife here is just what the doctor ordered. Close to civilization too when needed.

We had the most lovely stay on Lindsey’s farm! The yurt was cozy and safe during a sudden thunderstorm. We enjoyed wandering the land and seeing all of the vegetables, orchard, and animals. I absolutely recommend staying at Rising Sun Farm!

Weekend Trip to The Oaks at Oakwood Farm

This location was perfect and we loved the isolated feeling! The animals were really adorable and entertaining, it’s truly a beautiful and serene property. There is a giant turkey guarding the entrance to the property, which made for some great giggles and memories. You can hear some road noise from the camp sites but it’s off in the distance. We did have some miscommunication with the landowner, he made some updates/changes to the listing after we booked and had some conflicting information on there. Just for the record, NO CAMPERS ALLOWED. I know it says RVs and trailers are allowed on the site details - this is not the case.

WOW! What a beautiful property. The wildlife and wild flowers were perfect. The trails were Great and the dogs had a blast sniffing everything. I'm really impressed with the way these folks care for the land and it's inhabitants.

Dan’s place is a true treasure. The land is beautiful, the campsites are separated enough to feel like you are out in your own little spot, and he is close to so many fun spots in the Taylor’s Falls area. Dan himself is so welcoming - greeting us when we arrived, introducing us to his sweet chickens, and giving suggestions for things to do. We would highly recommend this location!

Weekend Trip to Two Bees & A Bud, Flower Farm Camp

This property is absolutely beautiful. Upon parking your vehicles, you're met with a beautiful lake as well as a serene short walk to the campsite. The site also has a view of this lake too. It was spacious, private, and Chrstine was incredibly accommodating. In my personal opinion, the perfect blend of kind and considerate while still giving you space to enjoy your camp. I think it's also important to add that New Richmond is a very short drive away if you need anything else. If you are planning your next trip or thinking about trying your first Hicamp experience this is a great way to do it!

Hello 2025, Camping Season is Here! Pitch your tent at one of our Walk-In campsites on 60 acres of forest or hilltop prairie along Prairie Creek in Rice County, MN. Explore the creeks, trails, forest, our enormous granite "split rock", a 60 acre county park featuring waterfalls and trails, including a single track mountain bike trail. That's 120 acres of exploring outside your tent; this campground truly offers a large amount of remote forest for recreation right on site. Big Woods State Park is less than 2 miles away. Faribault is 8 miles and Northfield is 9 miles from our driveway; they offer dining, boutiques, and all other amenities. Nerstrand is 4.5 miles east and has a gas station and a fantastic meat market. Numerous Cannon River put-ins are within 10 miles. Vehicles: Our main parking area by sites 1, 2, & 3 is easily accessible. The road to the secondary parking area beside site 4 is up a steep gravel road (but it is accessible). We do not have firewood available at the campground; please plan ahead to bring firewood with you. Sites are priced for one tent, please let us know if you need to have more than one tent. Kids under 16 camping with their parents do not count in pricing. A map of the land is in the photos and shows locations of sites, parking and more. All Sites are Walk-In! We have a cart you may use to haul gear in. This campground is managed by Stephen and Molly on land owned by them and their father Ted. In 1961, Ted's parents bought this farm. In addition to farming they also operated a trail riding stable here. Over the years, the arable land has been sold, but we retained the wooded areas which are twice crossed by creeks. About 25 years ago, a 60 acre county park bordering the south and west sides of our land was created. We are very excited to host campers as a way to preserve and share this beautiful property.

Enjoy 10 acres shared between 2 sites! The two campsites are large and can accommodate approximately 6 tents comfortably at each. If more is needed let us know we have room and can accommodate. There is a shared bathroom/changing room and trash/recycling between the sites. There is a water point in the barn if you need to fill up on drinking water just make sure you have a container for it. Site includes a picnic table and firepit and many acres with downed trees to salvage. Bundles of firewood can be purchased if needed. This area includes a back pasture and woods with trails throughout for walking/mountain biking. There are many horse trails in the area, if you want to bring your horses that is fine as long as you bring containment for them and clear it with us first. We are approximately 1 mile from a rum river access. There are multiple river trip options from our property. We are also 3 mins from lake george and the Rum River Regional Park for swimming, biking, fishing, boating, and more paddling. There is a Bills gas n grocery as well as a G-will liquors less than a minute from the property. The Ponds golf course is about 4 mins away as well. If you are looking to hit downtown Anoka that is a straight shot and approx 12 mins away. This site is on an active hobby farm that has dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, turkeys, and multiple gardens. We have a farm stand by the road where we sell items such as fresh roasted coffee, eggs, BBQ sauce, pickles, maple syrup, hot sauce, and more! We are very pet friendly and like to meet new furry faces, so feel free to bring them along!

Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. The restored quarry provided gravel for the nearby highway restoration and local projects.The property is currently a mix of hay ground, cropland, pasture, forest, and quarry. Twin sisters, Darla and Kayla, and their families live across the road from each other and own the surrounding 140 acres. They keep busy planting/tending trees, making hay, moving fence for grazing animals, operating a farm business called Twin Folk Farms (pastured meat, camps, etc), and raising their families.Learn more about this land:- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected. - You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite.
