Dan and Bill’s place was so great! It was private, beautiful, and a great location. It was a great place to come after spending the day at the beach or downtown Traverse. Dan and Bill were also really friendly and asked if I needed anything during my stay. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Tree Huggers Haven

I absolutely loved camping here! The scenery was stunning, and the atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Todd was a fantastic host: welcoming, helpful, and attentive to every detail. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We enjoyed the quiet and all the birds that Merlin heard at Rob’s camp. The Shasta trailer was nice they even provided a welcoming bottle of wine. The drinking water was incredibly good right out of the tap and we filled our water bottles for each day. The outdoor kitchen worked out great and was cool and comfortable. Well worth it.

This property is really unique! The bus is simply that: a bus! It has a huge bed, a propane stovetop with oven, a flushable toilet, a dishwashing sink (non-potable water) and an air conditioning unit. The grounds are lovely, open, and off the beaten path. The evenings are quiet and dark, and the days offer comfortable surroundings for reading, play, outdoor cooking (2 grills outdoors,) and all about 2 miles from the beach town of Charlevoix! Highly recommended!!!

Adorable A frame cabin with all the glamping comforts (AC, hot/cold water dispenser, mini fridge/freezer, microwave, keurig, wifi, TV) and bathhouse with flush toilets and showers a short walk away. Beautiful property and host was very responsive.

Glamping tent was great! Comfy bed, nice to have water cooler, microwave and chairs on front porch. Maybe bring a lantern and a fan if its hot. Shower house was a great addition, however cold water, which was OK cause it was 90 degrees out. They are still working on it though, so maybe they are planning to add water heater. Enjoyed walking in the woods on the trails. Sat on porch at Portage Point resort and ate pizza for dinner, ate ice cream by Portage lake at a park. Enjoyed breakfast by the lake at Lakeside Cafe. Beautiful grounds. Cabins looked cute as well. Would definitely come again!

3 nights at Bunkhouse in the Pines

Christine’s bunkhouse is perfectly located—just about 20 minutes from anything your heart desires in the Leelanau area, right in the middle of all the action. The bunkhouse and surrounding buildings were a great touch and made us feel right at home, with everything we needed. Cedar, MI is just down the road with a charming little downtown, a grocery/gas station, and an ice cream shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Tranquil spot! We thoroughly enjoyed all of the windows in the new RV and the green scenery to view. The yard offers multiple quiet spaces for relaxing, which we didn’t get a chance to do but appreciated the design.

We loved the cabin, it is cute and roomy. Tim is very hospitable. The location is perfect. Enjoyed our stay there very much.

My husband and our two kiddos (4 & 7) stayed for two nights in the cabin. It was so relaxing and felt like we were deep in the woods. Timothy was amazing from the start. I had asked if we could possibly check in early and he was okay with that. We ended up having car trouble on the way to the cabin and didn't check in until dinner time. He was so great about the whole thing and had even turned the heater on in the cabin before we arrived because it was a cool night. The cabin and bathroom were both clean. Timothy was lovely to chat with and was available by phone or in person at any time. He gave us a complimentary bundle of fire wood, a goodie bag, and three gallons of water. Pineleaf and Timothy are both wonderful and we plan to stay again in the future. A tranquil, quiet place to stay and a very accommodating host!

Weekend Trip to pineleaf.

Tim was an exceptional host! The property is beautiful! The is no shortage of nature and tall leafy trees. No noisy traffic and no camping neighbors near each other. The cabin was equip with more than enough “oops I forgot my…” items. Pet friendly, clean, well taken care of well loved piece of serenity.

We loved our stay at the bunkhouse. Beautiful property that's nice and secluded. The cabin was comfortable and had thoughtful touches. We would love to stay here again.

I’m writing this review while sitting on the deck shortly after sunrise. Tim, the host is absolutely awesome! He greeted us at a meeting spot to lead us to the cabin, it is very secluded and hidden away in the woods. Once we got to the cabin I was more than pleasantly surprised to discover the cabin not only has a nice little fireplace heater for the chilly Michigan nights but there’s also a small refrigerator that helped a lot! Tim gave us a goody bag at check in that had yummy happy treats! He also provides the first night of wood for free, only $5 a bundle after that. We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to extend it a night. We will absolutely be back!

Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana. The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have two sites which are on opposite sides of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Both sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. Within 3 miles you are able to gain access to State property, the Manistee River, and Chase Creek. From the trails in this area you can go as far as Houghton Lake and Fife Lake. Great area for hunting, fishing, four wheeling, dirt bikes, and hiking. This is a great getaway you don't want to miss out on!
