Peaceful setting on 40 wooded acres that is located at the end of two county roads with virtually no traffic. Upon arriving at the property, you will enter through a gate and arrive to the secluded camp area with a beautiful, cozy full log cabin. *Please note the directions begin at the Shell Station (102 South Michigan Avenue, Manton, MI 49663) because the cabin doesn't have a physical address.* We're happy to meet you and guide you right to it! The glamping tent is located in an existing campground at the Pine River Paddlesports Center. The campground itself is on 26 acres - the sites are all hedged around on 3 sites with woods and are generously spaced out from one another. It is a clean and quiet campground - you shouldn't be able to hear your neighbors, and they shouldn't be able to hear you. The tent does have electricity - there is one power strip that is enough to power a fan (provided in the tent!), and to charge phones. There is a queen-sized bed, but please bring your own bedding. Inside the tent is also a 'coffee nook' - complete with a one-burner propane stove, tea kettle, pour-over coffee system, and water pitcher. Potable water is available at the tent site (there is a water spigot outside). Outside of the tent there is a fire pit with an adjustable grate for cooking, a picnic table, and a locking trash can that we change daily for you. Our bathroom building is a short walk from the glamping tent. It is a modern restroom with a men's and a women's side, complete with hot, running water, flush toilets, and coin-operated showers. We are located in the Manistee National Forest. Our campground borders the National Forest. On site, there is a beautiful 1/4 mile deer trail walk through the National Forest that leads to a great overlook of the Pine River. Also on site is a frisbee golf course that is free to campers. Also located on site is the Paddlesports Center where we rent canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and rafts for paddling the Pine River.

The glamping tent is located in an existing campground at the Pine River Paddlesports Center. The campground itself is on 26 acres - the sites are all hedged around on 3 sites with woods and are generously spaced out from one another. It is a clean and quiet campground - you shouldn't be able to hear your neighbors, and they shouldn't be able to hear you. The tent does have electricity - there is one power strip that is enough to power a fan (provided in the tent!), and to charge phones. There is a queen-sized bed, but please bring your own bedding. Inside the tent is also a 'coffee nook' - complete with a one-burner propane stove, tea kettle, pour-over coffee system, and water pitcher. Potable water is available at the tent site (there is a water spigot outside). Outside of the tent there is a fire pit with an adjustable grate for cooking, a picnic table, and a locking trash can that we change daily for you. On site, there is a beautiful 1/4 mile deer trail walk through the National Forest that leads to a great overlook of the Pine River. Also on site is a frisbee golf course that is free to campers. The glamping tent is located in an existing campground at the Pine River Paddlesports Center. The campground itself is on 26 acres - the sites are all hedged around on 3 sites with woods and are generously spaced out from one another. It is a clean and quiet campground - you shouldn't be able to hear your neighbors, and they shouldn't be able to hear you. The tent does have electricity - there is one power strip that is enough to power a fan (provided in the tent!), and to charge phones. There is a queen-sized bed, but please bring your own bedding. Inside the tent is also a 'coffee nook' - complete with a one-burner propane stove, tea kettle, pour-over coffee system, and water pitcher. Potable water is available at the tent site (there is a water spigot outside). Outside of the tent there is a fire pit with an adjustable grate for cooking, a picnic table, and a locking trash can that we change daily for you. Our bathroom building is a short walk from the glamping tent. It is a modern restroom with a men's and a women's side, complete with hot, running water, flush toilets, and coin-operated showers. We are located in the Manistee National Forest. Our campground borders the National Forest. On site, there is a beautiful 1/4 mile deer trail walk through the National Forest that leads to a great overlook of the Pine River. Also on site is a frisbee golf course that is free to campers. This cozy cabin in the woods was exactly the peaceful getaway we needed. The starry nights, crackling campfires, and quiet walks through the forest with our dog made the stay unforgettable. The cabin itself was warm, welcoming, and full of thoughtful touches, especially the welcoming basket waiting for us. The propane gas fireplace kept us perfectly comfortable on the cold nights, and the entire space felt like a true retreat. We loved having time to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature together. We loved camping at Rick’s! The cabin was well stocked with spices, flashlights, cozy and nice bedding. Rick resupied firewood for us and pointed out the trails to explore. The view from the cabin porch was beautiful with lots of colorful trees. The firepit was huge and we used the grates to cook over the fire. We’re coming back next summer!

The cabin is so cozy and it is clear that a lot of thought has been put into this stay (extra lights, lighters, charcoal for the grill, multiple chairs, condiments, lots of wood etc.). My dog and I were nice and toasty when it got down below freezing. The outhouse was spotless. The fire pit and yard were so charming at night. Lots of trails to walk. The hosts were fantastic and treat you like family. I will be going again

Beautiful secluded woods. Cabin was very clean with a fresh cut wood smell. Very nice to have the carport to cook under since it rained pretty much the entire trip. Pull up couch was perfect to lounge on with a book in the evenings. Memory foam topper on the air mattress made it pretty comfortable. Kerosene heater took the chill out of the air on the 40 degree nights. Plenty of space for the two of us and our Aussie. Lots of little unexpected extras. Dog toys, bowls, and bed, binoculars, candles, lantern, and strategic solar lights outside.

Rick's place was such a gift. There were so many signs of thoughtfulness and insight into his prepared mind. Not only was the cabin equipped w/ basics but he also offers extras such as raincoats, hammocks, and what not. The property is well cared for, he has beautifully growing plants on the front porch The outhouse was actually nice, well stocked, and it was clean! The cabin too, was very clean, cleanest tiny cabin in woods I've seen yet! I like how he designed and decorated the cabin, it felt much bigger than it was. The framed bear art was so enjoyable to look at, each time I'd find something I hadn't before. It was like a mix between a Hieronymus Bosch piece and a teddy bears picnic! I highly recommend, he's a really nice easy going guy, pleasant to communicate with.

Carole and Art are two of the sweetest, most accommodating hosts you'll ever hope to meet! The amount of care and effort they put into making you feel comfortable is second to none. Like I told them, they thought of everything! Even the doggos and kiddos are made to feel welcome. There were even games for children of all ages to play - outdoors and in. For me, it was a solo trip. Carole and Art's property is so quiet and relaxing and was just what the Mental Health Professional ordered! I highly recommend the Arcala Bunkhouse for individuals, couples, groups, and families alike. The property has hills all around and is adjacent to a tree farm. Everything is so beautiful! I took so many pictures of the landscape and wildlife. I shared the atypical ones in order to not repeat the pictures that were already posted. Thank you Carole and Art for being amazing hosts and making my weekend truly memorable!

Rick's cabin is so beautiful! He really has built a little slice of heaven in the woods. We had so much fun talking to him and meeting his sweet dog! We loved relaxing on the covered deck watching the fire below dance in the stoic stone firepit. Our son rode his bike and explored all around the trails on Rick's land, we hiked them too. Lots of nature to observe and the smells of the woods were delightful. This cabin was just what we were looking for in a quick family getaway! Rick has a large table for the kitchen counter setup with propane stoves, utensils, and a large glass water jug with an electric pump! The beds on the bunk were really comfortable, and the wood stove was so nice in the early mornings to warm the cabin up. The small dining table was perfect for taking it easy, drinking coffee and gazing out the window at the diverse trees. Rick also has a battery powered fan, and shop vac which were such nice things to have! He provided the firewood for both the outdoor pit and the small wood stove inside. The cabin is also a few miles from Yoder's of Tustin for some groceries, supplies, lots of baked treats and deli items including sandwiches. We drove to see the Pine River and the scenery around the area. Rick is a wonderful host! We will be back!! Thank you, Rick!!
