The 1.3 acre parcel across the street from the house and farm has a forested peninsula that the A-frame is located on. Our street ends in a small stream that continues to separate the farmstead from the A-frame site. Come stay in our tiny rustic A frame cabin built of mostly reclaimed materials. Enjoy being across the stream and over the bridge from the main house on a private peninsula. Enjoy the privacy of a "single site" camp! Use the fire pit, grill, outdoor wood stove, single burner butane stove or umm the bathroom :) without having to leave your site! Please be aware we are in town and you may hear road noise, lawn mowers, dogs, ect. You may also see and hear wildlife ex; deer, beavers, ducks, muskrats, rabbits, geese, foxes, and coyotes. We encourage native plants and work to provide a sanctuary for many threatened bird species. The cabin is 100sq. feet with sloping interior walls the flip up side wall is permanently open and screened in. There is no running water or electricity so unplug and unwind. A place to plug in and the water spigot a short stroll from your cabin in the driveway The cabin has a a full size mattress with sheets, blankets, throws and pillows. Lanterns, cooking utensils, camp mugs and camp coffee pot are provided. Please request the cast iron skillet and butane burner, it will not be in the cabin if you do not ask for it. You are also welcome to set up your own tent. Please note cleared space is limited and the tent should be a 1-3 person smaller tent. Outside on the deck are tiki torches, woodstove and bistro table. There is a hammock, picnic table, and 2 sets of outdoor chairs at your site. We do not have a swimming hole but the town beach is 5 minutes away and requires a day pass. If you forget something you are a short walk to Cumbies, and several farms, bakeries and a large grocer are a very short drive away. Venture farther (10 minutes) to one of the nearby hiking trails. We are within 15 minutes of the Blackstone Gorge, Southern New England Trunkline Trail, Cornier Woods, Franklin State Forest, Wojcik Farm, Cook's Valley Farm, the New England Bonsai Museum, Diamond Hill Vineyards, Caroline's Cannabis, Shire Conservation Area, New England Country Club, and many stables. The Commuter Rail to Boston, Wrentham Premium Outlets, and a Drive-in Theater are within 30 minutes. Use us as a base to explore Blackstone Valley, Boston and Worcester!! With the original home built in 1785, Milk Thistle farm is on the historic register and is comprised of the main house and 5 acres of land. It is run as a small non-profit animal sanctuary and is home to rescued chickens, goats, and pigs, as well as two humans and their dog and cat companions. The main property is fenced in and is closed off to visitors. We have two sites; the orchard to explore that can also double as hammock camping, as well as a small wooded nook. Both are next to the goat pen. There is parking for cars and bikes. We try to minimize our impact on the environment as much as possible, and encourage our guests to compost, recycle, and dispose of waste accordingly. Pachaug State Forest, Ell Pond Preserve, and the Westerly, RI beaches are all within a 20 minute drive from us. Our land is secluded and rural, offering a respite from the hubbub of city life. We have a spring-fed pond on-site and the majority of our land is heavily forested. With very low light pollution, the night sky on our farm is breathtaking. *PLEASE NOTE: We do not normally meet guests upon arrival, but if you’d like us to, please let us know and we will do our best to make ourselves available. This site is large and private with dozens of unique features and details that make spending time here so delightful. The treehouse was stocked with books, games, led light fans, bug spray, and a refrigerator. From the screened porch we saw so many birds flying over the lake. We enjoyed a walk through the forest and saw a family of turkeys! Outside there is a fire pit, charcoal grill and gas grill. It was very hot so we didn’t get a chance to use these. The host was helpful with our initial questions, and the only thing we would have changed was the 90 degree weather! This site is a short drive from Mystic and Westerly with great restaurants and shops.

Wonderful location, close to Plymouth, with a great beach and lovely restaurants. Kathleen has a beautiful private spot behind house. Plenty of foliage between the house and the site. We took our puppy with us on his first camping trip and he loved all the woods and the smells and the sticks to chew on. Bring mosquito repellant and maybe citronella candles. Lovely fire pit. Kathleen was incredibly kinds and generous with her time when we could not find the electrical hookup ourselves.

The land is extremely Charming, quiet and absolutely what was needed for both body, spirit and mind. Extremely easy to find and very private at the same time. First is the cute farm stand on the right and a hard packed gravel road passing a corral with gorgeous horses and running rabbits crossing a stone bridge crossing a small creek into the thick forest. About 100 yards in is a craftsman style cabin on the right set back and totally secluded. Next a small climb up a hill past a huge awesome boulder brings you deeper into the campground. There I found my spot, which was lit with a couple small solar lights. There site had a useful fire ring, picnic table and plenty of space for me to set up my tent. I stayed for two nights and really wish I had more time to take in this beautiful place. If you’re looking for a quiet spot but still close enough to amenities I cannot recommend this place enough.

Best part is the location: it is a short drive from the truck stop which has showers and supplies if one needs it. Good location if you are planning a beach, fishing and/or casino trip in the area.

Just got back from a wonderful two night stay at Getaway Ranch. Karyssa was a wonderful host who provided us with wood for the fire ring our first night and quick responses to any questions we had. The Overlook site was great, we had plenty of spots to choose to pitch our tents. We enjoyed the view of the river from the stone bench and had great meals and conversation around the table and campfire. The dogs absolutely loved their time here with plenty to explore and we loved having them with us. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet and falling asleep to the sounds of bull frogs and waking up to beautiful birdsongs. We are definitely going to come back again.

The Yurt Campsite was perfect for a camping girls’ trip to celebrate my daughter’s 11 birthday. She especially loved the hammock near the river. Karyssa was very accommodating and was quick to answer any questions we had, even bringing special fire color packets to make the fire magical for the birthday girl. The set up of tents, air mattress, and fire made it easy for inexperienced campers like us.

This was a very nice little camp spot set up beautifully for tent campers. It does have electricity as an extension cord and a hose is hooked to the corner of the house. There is a grassy area to park an RV, but my suggestion is to be very careful when you are maneuvering in. With an RV because there is not any enormous amount of space to turn your rig around. When there are no other campers the site is very private. It has very easy access to Walmart and Plymouth to go see the Plymouth Rock. I enjoyed my stay here.
