The Cape Cod Acre is a cozy one acre oasis just 1 mile from beautiful Cape Cod Bay. Our Honey Shack is a private off grid (no electricity) tiny camp, nestled between pine trees and blueberry bushes. Nearby you can enjoy stunning beaches, hiking, paddling (fresh water ponds or the ocean), surfing, biking (access to the to the Cape Cod Rail Trail is less than a 10 minute drive), great food, restaurants and shops. The Honey Shack is an off grid (no electricity) tiny shack located in a private corner of our yard. Campers will enjoy a comfortable loft style bed (bring your own blankets!), a plush built in couch, a small private deck, and an indoor sitting area/counter with a hand washing sink (tap water supplied with portable water tanks). The composting toilet is in a custom built outhouse* (campers are responsible for disposing of solid waste), and we will allow access to our outdoor shower (hot and cold water- attached to our house- available hours are posted in the shack/ we limit time to give you and us privacy since it’s attached to our house). The camp comfortably sleeps 2 in the loft bed, a third person could sleep on the couch. A fourth person would be tight and you need to provide your own sleeping mat. Tents and car camping are not recommended as our lot is on a hill! Spend your time secluded among the surrounding pine trees, or meet our chickens, and honey bees, on our property. Take a 20 minute walk to the beach or a quick bike ride. Enjoy the best of Cape Cod with an easy drive to beaches, parks, restaurants, and shopping. There is no fridge or electricity supplied to the honey shack. While the shack is comfy and waterproof, it is basic…it’s camping but cuter. You will most likely meet a spider or a bug, and while we provide some lighting a headlamp or flashlight is recommended. The structure is 13x7ft, just enough space to relax! *With our composting toilet we will supply the disposal bag and wood shaving covering, campers are responsible for disposing of the bagged waste. We live on property, and can frequently be found outside, but will respect your space. Say hello if you want, ask for tips, or keep to yourself! We have a dog, an overly friendly black lab, she loves to greet people, and loves kids. She will likely wander over to you at some point with a wag and wiggle (her name is Star). Neighbors are close by, but woods and fence provide plenty of privacy. We have honey bee hives on property! They are generally docile and mind their own beeswax (ha!), but if you have a bee allergy or fear of bees this may not be the spot for you.

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at the Honey Shack for a last minute Cape getaway. The Cape is his favorite place, and after this stay I fully understand why. While we saw very little of them, the hosts were great! As was the dog, Star, whose appearances were always accompanied by a frisbee and a tail wag. Their setup was very well thought-out. Despite being in a great location central to so many things, it was quiet and peaceful. The property was beautiful and we loved waking up to the chorus of songbirds and the sounds of nature. While the cabin is technically off grid, there was a large charging station and quite a few battery operated lights, which was a pleasant surprise. The hosts also include a binder with information on the area, local beaches, and pamphlets with trails as well as things to do. The outdoor shower was incredible! While there are technically official shower times for the outdoor shower, the hosts were very flexible and accommodating of us showering when we wanted. The hot water coming out at a high water pressure, coupled with the cool cape air, was extremely refreshing and the perfect end to a day along the ocean. I will note, the fire pit outside is a chimney-style fire pit. Great for sitting around a fire without smoke blowing in your face! But don’t plan on being able to make food or coffee over the fire. This was our first time using Hipcamp, we didn’t know what to expect. The experience provided at the Honey Shack went above and beyond.

Quiet and cozy
The Honey Shack is such a cozy little place. Perfect for a quiet couple’s weekend. There is plenty to do around the area, the beach is a short walk away and the vibes are great. It was exactly what we were looking for: quiet, cozy and peaceful. We would definitely come back for another weekend!

Cute and comfortable
Welcoming and cozy. Natural setting even though surrounded by homes it felt secluded, private and quiet we didn’t even see a person or hear a car. Mattress was so comfortable! Was a great break from wet rainy tent camping for a more dry cushy comfortable home like feel yet still “camping”. Close to everything the area has to offer great for exploring all Cape Cod. Thoughtful and cute place. Even fresh little flowers in tiny vases. Composting toilet got the job done but definitely prefer the pit style rather than the bag in bucket and taking with you when you depart but knew this going in and it fulfilled its purpose. Was so thankful for an affordable, comfortable, rustic yet charming place. Owner was very communicative. Would highly recommend to anyone and would return in a heartbeat. Loved it!

Honey Shack
We had an amazing stay at the Honey Shack. Usually we tent camp every time we visit the cape, so this was an upgrade. We loved that we had a sink and solar power. The property was so peaceful and Holeigh was a very attentive host. We can't wait to come back!

Me and my girlfriend had a great time staying at the honey shack. Little cozy spot with a nice outdoor shower close to all the fun parts of cape cod.
