Weekend Trip to Ponderings at White Pond

This lakeside property is absolutely gorgeous. It's hard to believe how close to Boston it is- with almost no noise- other than birds- including a piliated woodpecker and owl.

1 night at Blueberry Orchard By The Pond

We had a wonderful stay at John’s blueberry Orchard. Incredibly private and quaint. The campsite is tucked back into the woods away from the road by the little pond and the Orchard and Sugar shack created a very sweet and romantic atmosphere. John was incredibly kind and responsive to messages and the coffee, honey, and sourdough bread or to die for. Absolutely no trouble with wildlife whatsoever. With 100% stay here again.

We had a lovely spot in the back of the property. We heard the creek and owles. We saw deer and flowering dogwoods. Christian is a great host and told us some fun stories.

Weekend Trip to Rosy Goat Farm

The site was amazing, and the host, Trisha, was even better! Arrival was super easy, site was clean, and the animals were friendly 10/10 would recommend Most importantly, our teens enjoyed it aswell!

3 nights at Cozie Nook Homestead

Our family camped on Robyn and Dennis’ property for 4 days and 3 nights and had a great time! The campsite was spacious, and we appreciated the covered restroom, cooking utensils, and camp stove. We loved the privacy and hearing all the different birds, especially the woodpeckers. Dennis and Robyn have a small farm, and visiting their animals was a highlight for us for sure! There is also a beautiful trail that we hiked nearby—definitely recommend. It rained one day we were there, but it didn’t put a damper on our time at all as we drove around and explored the area. We could hear traffic on a nearby road, but it did not impact our stay. I’d imagine that once all the leaves are on the trees it would be even less noticeable. Robyn and Dennis were so kind, and their property is beautiful. I’d recommend them and this site to other families!

Drive-in camp site, big fire pit, quiet, we heard an owl somewhere near us, walked in the woods, easy drive to hike mt Greylock (or do it right from the site). Christian was very kind and made us feel welcome. We’ll be back!

Weekend Trip to Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

We had the absolute best time at Salamander Hollow! It was downpouring the weekend we stayed, but the covered space by the pizza oven and the tipi kept us dry and cozy. Our dog absolutely loved having free rein of the land, the sleeping quarters were spotless, and the sauna was a lovely touch. We all left feeling happy and rejuvenated! Mary is an incredibly responsive and kind host as well, so we felt totally prepared for our stay. I would venture to say there are few camping opportunities like this in the area, and would recommend people stay here without reservation!

We loved this unique spot. The sleeping library was cozy, the tipi was relaxing and the pizza oven was a ton of fun to use. I'll definitely keep this on my list of places to go back to when I want some quiet restorative time.

I loved staying here. The property is beautiful and Mary made me feel so welcome and safe. Walking through the property was so peaceful and lead to state land. Then it was a great walk to the must stop Cedar Hill Farm. I would highly recommend Mary's for a relaxing restorative time. I plan to return and try the tips. Check this place out.

2 nights at Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

My partner, dog, and I stayed at the Kula Bata Tiny Kabin. It’s one of the first cabins on the property, separate from the rest of the rentals. However, we ended up having the entire property to ourselves. It was fun to check out the other rentals and hike around the acreage. The pictures don’t do the cabin justice! This place is really lovely. You can tell it’s been set up with a lot of care for all who visit. The sauna was fun and we enjoyed the fire pit as well. You must take the hike to the farm store. There were so many farm goods for purchase. We got steaks and grilled them back at camp. They were DELICIOUS! Be sure to bring some foil and cooking oil with you since we couldn’t find either in the kitchen- plenty of spices and everything else you may need to cook though! All in all, it was a treat to stay here. Super unique spot that will leave you feeling rested and restored.

Wonderful working farm. Lots of interesting things to see. Very friendly dog. Fantastic bathroom made out of old horse stall with cool copper sink and nice touches with composting toilets. Tent camp site was not quite level but we may have chosen poorly.

Very nice property, each site is very private. Be ready to walk your things to the site. Dom has wheelbarrows to help move things which is great. Great experience, the firewood is a nice big bundle. We loved the animals on the farm too. No tables at the sites but there are some nice stumps you can easily use as a table. Thanks Dom

Turtle Path Camping Site

Our driveway is located about 3 miles from the start of the Boston Marathon, 8 minutes from 495, but, down a country road. We find our property to be quite peaceful. We do have crickets to lull you to sleep and early birds (and sometimes a neighborhood rooster) to greet you in the morning. Keep an eye out for turtles! We are a few hundred yards from either Upton State Forest or Lake Whitehall. Lake Whitehall is popular with boaters (speed limit enforced) and is stocked with fish. No swimming. There is a public boat ramp on the other side of the lake. We often put in our kayaks at the entrance close to our house. We hike, mountain bike and picnic in these parks. It's really beautiful. There is a 24-hour grocery store 2 miles down the road. The gravel campsite is located at the barn end of our driveway in front of the red barn. There is a little privacy from the house, but, we may need to get into the barn from time to time. We have a 30amp and water hookup at the barn. If planning on using electric please add one "electric hookup" extra to each night of your stay BEFORE finishing the request to book, it's really difficult to add it after. Please plan to bring 50' of hose and/or 25ft of electrical cord if using hookups. There is wifi, BUT, it's pretty weak at the barn. Definitely not strong enough for streaming! Our Ibex camper may or may not be parked next to the barn depending on if we are out camping! We do not accept car campers. Turtle Path also has a Guest Suite. Find us on that other website! Shortly after we moved in we discovered a large snapping turtle on his way from Lake Whitehall to the creek at the back of our property. Our neighbor told us that's the turtle's usual route. Turtle won our hearts that day.

We do not recommend having any animals off-leash, as he 50mph traffic on RT. 2 is very dangerous for animals. Always do tick checks, and to avoid poison ivy, STAY WITHIN RAILS AND CLEARINGS. We regularly maintain all paths and campsites to be free of poison ivy, but if you wander into unmaintained parts of the forest, you might contact poison ivy. Like any camping in the northeast, bring bug spray too! For travelers, this happens to be a VERY accessible location.

Where horses and wagons would stop to off load part of their load to continue up the hill. They would return to pick up the rest and continue on. Moon In The Pond Farm

Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a little bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose from. All are in around the farm, so you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be sharing a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are located in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are under the trees on the edges of different farm fields, one is a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm!! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is an alternative cultural mecca, there are also numerous entertainment opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

It is not well suited for winter camping unless you’re well equipped. BYO gear as there is not mattress or blankets in the shelter. Take a swim in the Ashfield lake 1 mile away or visit the enchanting Chapel Falls on Trustees land just down the road in Williamsburg. Hickory Ridge

Our property is 85 very private acres with an open field surrounded by forest and open wooded area with many trails. The forest is very diverse including some old growth maples and birches, as well as hemlock and pine trees. The campsites are at the edge of the field set back into the woods. I have recently added sand and gravel to improve drainage since the heavy rain we have had last year. We have a portable composting toilet outhouse and a hot outdoor shower. Feel free to explore all of the trails on foot or mountain bike. You may see some turkeys or deer out there. There is a small pond with lots of frogs and salamanders near the camping area, and a few seasonal streams on the property. You can hike a one mile loop on our newest trail. It is medium difficulty because of the hillside it is built on so hiking boots are recommended unless you are on a mountain bike. Rock walls built in the mid 1800s circle the property almost entirely so the borders are easy to see. The Deerfield river is a few miles away where you can fish for trout or go for a swim or kayak. The Connecticut river and the green river are about 15 minutes away as well. We have tubes, a canoe, and a kayak that are available to rent for some floating! Historic Deerfield village and Yankee Candle store and factory are about 10 minutes away. We are about 20 minutes from Northampton and Amherst.
