Loved the site and Greg was a great host! Getting the shade sail is a must if you don't have one of your own as there isn't much protection from the afternoon sun! The river is lovely to swim in but it's down a steep bank so bring your water shoes for that extra grip. Friendly cats on the campsite and so many fireflies :D

Went tent camping in spot 11 it was nice area the river was not too far away kids enjoyed themselves very much. At night when the sky is clear you can see many stars and during the day you get to see many beautiful butterflies- 2 things I don’t get to see much in my city. In all it was a great experience we all enjoyed ourselves and will be visiting again in the future.

1 night at Willows Farm

The description of the property does not do it justice! The farm is beautiful and accommodations exactly as described. I would recommend the host add a picnic table to this site; we noticed one at the RV site and thought that it would have been helpful to have at the wooded site, too.

2 nights at The Byrd's Nest on the River

The camp site is perfectly setup for fun and relaxing right on the Capacon River. Beautiful stone circle fire pit, another fire rig set up for cooking. The decks to set up tents are perfectly situated with cute party lights but don’t let them distract you from the beautiful night sky! There are lots of amenities in the shed to use!

Weekend Trip to Fiddlers Green Farm

We had a great time at this hip camp! We had plenty of room for two tents and a small RV. There was plenty of wood at the site to use and access to the stream/creek was right at the campsite. There were only a few small negatives. First, tons of mosquitoes. But what can you expect for being a "waterfront" campsite. Secondly, the week before it had rained a lot in the area. Which it does say in the directions that it can get muddy down there. However, we got stuck with our camper and we didn't stray from the path. The path should have more gravel dumped to at least mitigate some of the mud. Lastly, there were folks across the way at the other campsite. Because we were sharing the portapotty, toilet paper was practically gone by the time we had arrived at camp. No one had come by to at least refill the toilet paper at the portapotty. Good thing we always come prepared with extra toilet paper.

We had a great time and had so much space to ourselves. We especially enjoyed the hiking paths on the farm that lead into the wooded areas. I hope to be back again.

This campsite was AWESOME! The view was stunning, and we felt like we were tucked away on a hidden gem all weekend! Terry was very responsive and very helpful in getting us to the campsite and all settled! We loved the quarry and watching all the wildlife roam around! Quick and easy access to hiking and to Harper’s Ferry, which was a nice perk!

It’s a well maintained, beautiful site with higher ground camping sites that overlook two water filled rock quarries. If you wake up early enough, you might see deer wandering the lower section near the quarries. Terry, his family, and friends are all incredibly nice people! I highly recommend this location and will visit again.

Greg was a great host. He was always making sure we were having a good time and that we had all what we need that he could provide us. The campsite was clean, it’s definitely a nice place for camping although we couldn’t get in the river due the bad rain from days before camping . Fiddlers Green is a beautiful gem in Carroll County. Our group enjoyed a very memorable experience that was both peaceful and safe. Nestled in this family farmland, we enjoyed the camping, wildlife, trails, waterways and the wonderful host family who brought us extra water, shared their farm products, were so generous with their resources, open spaces, and even helped us with a car problem! Cannot wait to return!

4 nights at Shelly's Woods

The perfect spot for a family camp trip! It was convenient having the covered picnic tables for cooking and hanging out during some drizzle. The creek was perfect for cooling off. The porta potty was nice to have as well! So nice that wood was stocked and we enjoyed the fire pit by the creek as well! Well taken care of property I for sure recommend!

4 nights at Shelly's Woods

Shelly’s Woods was a beautiful place to spend quality time with family! We just spent 4 nights at Shelly Woods and had a wonderful time. Grounds were in great shape even though it had rained for days before our arrival. Daniel was awesome at communicating his concerns days prior to our arrival about the creek and condition of the grounds. Mother Nature cooperated and we had a great time. Once the creek decided to recede the grandkids enjoyed wading and skipping rocks. The pavilion was perfect to get out of the rain a few rain showers we had. The outhouse/jiffy john was good to have. The swings were enjoyed by the little people and I spent many hours swinging my newest grandbaby to sleep. This is a great place to make memories with no outside interruption’s! Host was great at communicating, even had dry firewood available, and checked on us after a storm passed. We will definitely keep Shelly’s Woods on our list of places to spend quality time with family. Thank You Daniel and family for sharing your place with us!

5 stars! We had a great stay at this RV park. The location was peaceful, safe, and very well maintained. The check-in process was easy and the staff was friendly and helpful. The site was level, clean, and had all the hookups we needed. We especially appreciated how quiet it was at night — perfect for getting some rest. The sites are not far from our barn, and we will leave one tractor bay open for you, just in case it was to rain and you want to use it as shelter. The sites are not perfect level so you will have to level your camper a little. You will have your own fire ring and picnic table, also you will have access to fresh water. You will need a good size water hose if your going to hook up water to your camper from site 1. We have electric hookups that are 20amp Only. There is a clean outhouse but no shower at this time. We are working on making a shower. There is plenty of room for outdoor yard games. You will hear a little road noise and we do have neighbors. You will see me and my family out working around and feeding animals at times. The hosts house is not to far from the campsites. This is just a peaceful piece of property on a mini farm to get away and relax and explore Berkeley Springs WV. We are also only 15 minutes to Cacapon River for Kayaking and Swimming. We are also only 15 minutes to the C&O canal for hiking and biking. We do sell firewood for $7.00 that's around 13 pieces of wood. There is cornhole by the ice-cream shack that you are welcome to play. There will be more things added to the property in the near future. So come on out to the mountains and be our guest.

Peaceful camping with privacy on a 160-acre historic farm! Minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield and the C&O Canal to name a few. We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable.

Hawkwood Farm

Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. The campsite is situated at the highest point of Willows Farm, offering tranquil farm views, gorgeous mountain vistas and spectacular sunsets. Soak up the beautiful countryside during your stay on the farm and hike our 25 acres of wooded property and chase a few bunnies and spot a herd of deer. Take a brisk walk to the cattle pastures and chat with our curious and friendly Black Angus heifers, Eleni, Lola and Maggie and say hi to our horse Albe. All of the fencing at Willows Farm is electric to keep our cattle and horse in and you will get shocked if you touch it. Please be mindful of this with your pets and children. If you are fortunate enough to have the timing right, you can even watch an airplane take off and land on our farm grass strip — "Willows Landing", which is just to the north (cardinal direction) of the campsite. Just 30 minutes to Gettysburg battlefields, historical downtown Frederick, and many other exciting places for exploration, Willows Farm is a great location for fun! Spend an evening watching Bull riding and barrel racing at J Bar W Ranch just a few minutes down the street in Johnsville. If vineyards and breweries are your thing we are just 15 - 30 minutes from many fine establishments. A few of our favorites are Black Ankle Vineyards, Linganore Winecellars and Attaboy Beer. Antique shopping abounds in the nearby charming, little town of New Market. So you're hungry and have a hankering for local cuisine? Take a five minute drive to the quaint downtown of Union Bridge and visit one of the three delicious family run restaurants.
