This was a great spot! It's just one site, so we had the field to ourselves to watch tent and have a campfire. It was easy to find and Roger was a great host, welcoming and helpful. Would recommend for sure

Definitely recommend staying at the Empty Nest. The property was perfect for easy car camping—you feel like you’re alone in an orchard/field but there is also an indoor bathroom. They also provided wood for a fire. FYI there are two chairs, so if you have more people you’ll want to bring blankets or camp chairs to sit on. Roger and Jacob were great and super responsive — thank you both!
The area is also beautiful, plus it’s close to hiking and Gettysburg and within 2 hours of DC. We hope to stay again soon!

The campsite is a beautiful orchard with easy access to a restroom and kitchen area. Roger is friendly and extremely helpful. I can't recommend his place highly enough!

Roger and his son were super accommodating and so friendly. Their little dog is adorable. Close enough to their downstairs apt for comforts but far enough away to feel private. Would totally stay again!

Roger’s place was excellent again! Access to the kitchen & bathroom makes this place perfect for 1-4 campers. The camp area is private and serene in good weather. Listen for the owls! Ideal for motorcycle camping and basing for ADV rides through Caledonia, Michaux, and Gettysburg.

A very pleasant experience. Roger’s son Jacob met me upon arrival and gave me all the info I needed. And he’s super friendly and smart with local tips. Great place to pitch a tent, enjoy the night sky and sleep under the stars. I’ll revisit next time I camp in Fairfield/ Gettysburg again.

We enjoyed our short stay at The Empty Nest. We made a last minute decision to stop and visit Gettysburg on our way home, their place was the perfect spot. It was away from the business and crowd but close enough to drive. It was convenient having access to a bathroom and kitchen area as well. Most places in the area did not offer this.

A secluded site and very friendly and accommodating host family ensures you’ll have a great stay. The site is surrounded by beautiful garden and orchard and mountain scenery. A nice fire pit and shady trees nearby.

The hosts are lovely. Their space is open and provides a separation from the house and neighbors for privacy. It's easy access from a driveway off a somewhat main road. Cell service is good, we found some blackberries and it looks like apples will be ripe soon. Access to a kitchenette and toilet are in the basement of their house.

We would absolutely stay here again. Easy in and out and close by historical areas. Roger keeps the orchard mowed and clean and is an excellent host.

What a great find! Roger was super nice and worked with us and our arrival time. We set up our tents and near the fire pit and took off to see the sights. He had a small stack of wood ready for us to burn that night as it was chilly. Rogers place is close to Gettysburg but secluded and quiet. The price is amazing compared to staying at a campground around the area. Next time we are in the area we will definitely stay with Roger.

Beautiful view from the orchard. Plenty of privacy, and Roger was a wonderful host. The location is just a few minutes from 15, so we didn’t need to travel out of our way to stay here on a trip from NY to NC. We will definitely stay here again!
