the cabin is in winter mode and has limit water, please bring all the water you need. if you forget or need more the can supply water when we are available to do so. Our cabin is an off grid (very limited power, now way to charge or plug in AC devices) post and beam structure that we built 8 years ago. It's has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There are jugs provided for doing dishes etc and a large (150 gallon) tank outside for refills. There are a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. Stuart Little’s dream house is an off-grid cabin on the edge of the woods, in the backyard of our home. The cabin is perfect for people who are camping, but want a little more accommodation. It has two futons that can turn into double beds, table and chairs, small porch, outhouse, and a picnic bench. Bring your sleeping bag and camp stove, and you are all set! There are also places to pitch a tent, if desired. We are just a mile down the road from where EB White lived, the setting of Stuart Little's dream house (our yard) gives a glimpse into some real Maine living: Boats and boat trailers, a rambling garden, and often a free pile at the end of the driveway. *Note: There is no heat. *Note: There is no kitchen. camp stove + fuel can be rented for $5/night *Note: Please bring a sleeping bag. While we are close-ish, it usually takes over an hour to get to the main visitors center, Hulls Cove. It's usually about 1.5 hours to get to any of the trails/beaches. When you arrive at the big posts and posted signs keep driving through because you are almost there. Originally settled in the early 1800's with a few house's, barn's and an old one room schoolhouse. A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles. We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

Michelle's cabin was a great spot to stay overnight, she was communicative and clear with directions and always easy to get in touch with. The cabin was quaint, cosy and fit 3 people without a problem, the outhouse and shower were clean and super helpful, too - definitely would stay again!

Great spot! Lots of details thought of with the firepit grill and utensils including marshmallow roasting sticks. Loved the counter and mushroom stools! Wouldn’t feel comfortable in windy weather just due to the shallow rooted trees- but it’s a beautiful spot! Reminded me of camping on the Olympic peninsula.

This is the best hipcamp site I've seen so far. We have stayed here 4 or 5 times and will definitely return. My son asked to spend his birthday here this year. There is a wood stove, comfortable beds and even a little electricity for lights. It is very private and quiet. It is well kept and tidy. Dogs are welcome.

I had a nice stay here. The privy was clean and it's only 30-40 minute drive from Bangor. The sites are on a slight grade of a hill but it isn't that bad and they each have a fire ring and picnic table with a trash can.

It was an enjoyable stay. The host was very responsive and the location is easy to find, and the privy is clean. The camp site itself is centerally located on a lot between neighbouring houses that are in earshot but it's tucked back behind the barn and has some trees and shrubs that offer it a secluded feel. It was perfect for my needs and It is just 27 minutes away from the Casco Bay YMCA by car if you need to work out and get a hot shower.

Incredible getaway. Thoughtful and well built cabin. Beautiful bench with a perfect incline to look at the stars in front of the fire. The wood stove kept us incredibly toasty. Absolute dream. Cannot beat it.

My husband and I were visiting Acadia and spent the night at the rabbit run spot. There was firewood and water set out for us and we were given clear instructions on how to get there. Best of all: a bathroom with a toilet and running water!! You’ll be greeted in the morning by chickens, ducks, and their dog Sadie if you’re lucky. If we’re ever back in the area we’ll 100% be staying here again. Thank you Mike and Cheryl!

Weekend Trip to Four Acre Woods Island Campground

We absolutely loved our stay at Four Acre Woods Campground. If anything we wish we had stayed longer! The campsite was out on a very quiet island, truly not too far from our outings. We stayed on the primitive secluded site which was absolutely perfect. It was very spacious, with tons of privacy, located steps away from the community cabin. We wish we had more time to enjoy the community cabin as it was warm, filled with books, games, cookware, utensils, lanterns, ice, tea, coffee, local guides and cozy sofas. Our campsite additionally had a private walk way to the bathrooms, which we were pleasantly surprised by for a campsite! The shower was equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body wash if needed, and the bathroom was as clean as you could possibly expect a campsite bathroom to be! Firewood was easy to purchase and bring over to our campsite which we appreciated. The hosts were very kind and helpful and we truly hope to be back again next year to hopefully spend a much longer stay at the four acre woods and get a chance to experience the onsite sauna :) thanks so much for having us! Would 110% recommend. (Ps. Just beware of deer and wildlife on the drive in, it is deer isle after all ;) )
