I can’t say enough great things about this spot! My dog and I stayed for two and a half months and easily could have stayed twice as long.
-The location is perfect — tucked in a residential area that offers plenty of privacy and peace, yet surrounded by friendly neighbors so it never feels isolated. You’re close to everything: most Acadia trails on Mount Desert Island are within a 25-minute drive, with many even closer (10-15 minutes). Bar Harbor is just 10 minutes away, offering great restaurants, shops, boat tours, and more.
-The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable — I work remotely full-time from my rig and never had a single issue, even with constant Zoom and Teams video meetings.
-Scott, the host, is fantastic — friendly, responsive, and genuinely welcoming, with excellent local recommendations.
-It’s also a dog-friendly spot. There’s plenty of grassy space for short walks, and the lawn was mowed weekly, which I really appreciated.
-The full hookups were in excellent condition and worked perfectly. There’s even a garden hose attached to the water line for convenience.
-Parking was a breeze — the site is spacious and easy to maneuver into no matter the size of your rig. I live in a 30-foot Airstream and had no trouble backing in at all.
Overall, this was one of my favorite stays — private, convenient, well-maintained, and hosted by someone who truly cares. Highly recommend!

Julia’s place is everything that is described. The pictures are accurate- it really is that peaceful and quiet. It was very private just as promised, but with easy access to primary roads. A really nice touch was the firewood that she provided. All the necessary amenities were there.

We set up on a gorgeous open field with nearby walks on both sides of the road. Candy welcomed us (even though we were not in the area normally reserved for Hip Campers) and graciously allowed us to stay where we were. She also invited us to a musical event being held for friends. Candy was a friendly and gracious host.

The land was just as described. Peaceful, quiet and easy to access for our Class C RV, plus we had the entire plot to ourselves. Candice was communicative and prices were fair. Will look to stay here again the next time I am in the area!

Hillside Campsite South is incredibly convenient for anyone wanting access to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor! There are two sites next to each other that are spacious and level with easy access in and out. The host Scott is very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. The site itself is actually part of a hotel in Bar Harbor, so you have access to the laundry facilities and pool at the hotel. Some folks may not like that the water pressure can vary (not sure if that's dependent on if the neighbors were using water, but there were times when the pressure would drop very low) and garbage needs to be taken to a dumpster about 5 minutes away (not a big deal). Otherwise, you can walk or bike into Hull's Cove on sidewalks and even access the Carriage roads of Acadia! Highly recommend this site!

Cranberry RV site was great! It was very private and quiet...just what was needed. We enjoyed exploring the Harpswell area... Orr's island and especially Bailey Island, simply beautiful.

After staying in Acadia national park busy Campgrounds it was so nice to come here and unwind with lots of space and privacy with full hook ups. It was close to great hiking and sightseeing. We enjoyed Baileys Island just a short drive away. Julia was very responsive, welcoming, and accomodating.

We absolutely loved our stay on Julia's land. It’s quiet and private making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy Maine.
We travel with our dog who loves people but doesn't always like other dogs so busy campgrounds can be stressful. There were no issues with that here, we had an acre + all to ourselves which made for a much more restful trip.
The location is close to some truly iconic Maine scenery—ideal for hiking, photography, or just soaking in the views.
The site itself is well-equipped with sewer, water, power which made our stay super convenient. There are trees all around but Starlink had no problem getting a signal so we were able to add an extra night and still make morning online meetings.
Getting in and out was a breeze thanks to the easy access and spacious layout. We have a 35' fifth wheel with crew cab truck and it was no problem backing into the spot.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with all the comforts home!

This spot is a hidden gem in Bar Harbor! I stayed up the road at Narrows Too before it closed for the season, and I enjoyed the privacy at Scott’s place much more! It’s close to everything, and he is very responsive with any questions you might have. It is very close to the carriage trails where we road our bikes very often.
You have to travel 5 min to a dumpster so that part is a little inconvenient but at least he has a spot for us to dump trash.
I will 100% be back!
