Botanica Retreat is a project of the Bioregional Conservancy and Reclamation Trust (BCRT), a registered educational not for profit organization dedicated to the Integration of Light and Land, healing assisted by the kingdoms of nature. Coming into a sense of harmony with one Self and others. De-stressing and relaxation are the first steps to healing any dis-ease. You are invited to play, stroll and relax in the meadows and northern forest lands of this 90 acre property. Enjoy a walk along the pond, the brook or the Medicine Wheel. The land offers a food forest of fruit, nut and sugar trees with gardens of wild edibles and medicinal plants. Botanica offers tent sites, yurts/yomes and RV spots (without hook up's). Indoor and outdoor bathroom facilities and showers are available. We host a communal camp fire if desired, and a hot drink at breakfast. We are a project in progress, turning a run-down potato farm to an aspiring center for education and planetary healing. Currently, we are recovering the farm house and adjacent structures with the generous assistance of a group of volunteers and we are endeavoring to bring the soil on the land back to life by making the land accessible to a nearby regenerative farmer. Located just 3 miles from Unity & 20 minutes from coastal Belfast, Maine, these Yurt style tents are overlooking 5 acre Wolph Pond nestled in the woods in Amish country. Yurts are furnished & linens are all included. Each individual yurt has its own solar shower just outside. Non-potable water, eco-friendly soaps and shampoo are provided at no charge. The bathroom consists of a clean “two holer” for those of you more comfortable with one another, outhouse, toilet paper provided. It’s a 5 minute walk to Wolph Pond where you’ll find some of the best Large Mouth Bass fishing in Maine. You’ll also catch Crappie, Bluegill and Sunfish if you prefer. We only allow catch & release fishing & ask that you bend the barbs on the fish hooks for the safety of the fish. Feel free to enjoy a paddle in one of our complimentary canoes or get in a leg workout with a paddle boat. Life vests are provided & must be worn at all times if you’re in one of the boats. Inquire about fishing gear rentals if you don’t have any or forgot to bring it. Ample parking provided & solar lights will guide you to your yurt. There are three units in total so if there are other guests occupying other units please be respectful and courteous. Some of the amenities are shared such as the communal fire pit, outhouse and boats. So just bring your food and drinking water and whatever else you may need and let us take care of the rest. The bathroom and shower (with real hot water) felt luxurious. The kitchen looked great, though we were so busy trekking in Acadia that we didn't really use it; we opted for local diners and brunch spots. It is very easy to find, no matter how late or dark it is, because it is really just off Route 1. The tent and surrounding areas were super clean, and you just needed to sit and enjoy the beautiful water view.

Secluded. Loved this space. Even though they warned not to get there at night, we did… path is an adventure but follow it, you’ll eventually get there. Will be easier without the wheel barrel! Can hear traffic speeding by in distance but didn’t mind. Outhouse is the cleanest I’ve used. Yurt is a great size. Walk to lake and take the kayaks out. Don’t skip it.

We had a great time at Matthew's yurt! It had everything we needed for a fun and comfortable camping trip. We really appreciated the extra touches like citronella candles, flashlights, board games, and more! The compost toilet and outdoor shower were super clean! We enjoyed roasting smores around the fire and exploring the pond with the provided canoe. It was super convenient being right off Route 1 as Acadia and other trails were just a short drive away! We highly recommend checking out Chipman's Wharf and Crow's Nest Cafe in Millbridge!

The property is great. Removed, but not too far from the car and the road. Everything was clean, organized and as stated. We had plenty of room, and we enjoyed being able to take the kayaks out. The only hitch was the "limited power" was even more limited as the main power bank was largely discharged, and for whatever reason, the solar panels weren't charging it, plus a 2nd smaller bank was at zero when we arrived. We thankfully had brought one from home and it's charger, so we used it, plus recharging the one bank in the yurt that used the same brand. As an FYI, the walk to the yurt isn't long, but the terrain is very uneven. There's one spot that is a small dip, so watch your footing. Overall, a positive experience, and we would rent from Matthew again.

Beautiful site and chock full of comfort and style. Don't hesitate, this is the one you want! Private parking, short walking trail to site. Feels very secluded, yet nota far drive to local shops and attractions. Wish I had booked a longer stay to take advantage of the kayaks and outdoor kitchen.

Mathew is a great host and steward of the land. I had a great stay and the yurt and property were just as described. Mind you, you are completely off the grid so treat it like tent camping and come in prepared. Leave it better than you found it.

Myself and my family had a wonderful time at Martina's property. The yurt was cozy and we enjoyed walking on the property. Martina even made my daughter a delicious blueberry crumble for her birthday.
